Wich vehicles do you want to see in the SA?

Recommended Posts

Vehicles will be rare and will be hard to repair/fix up. Especially with how the loot is going to work in the future.

I'm game with the odd vehicle or two, but when it starts getting crazy, that's when it starts getting crappy and boring.

I hope vehicles will be super hard to find and even more harder to repair.

Right so hummers, tanks, military planes, ETC need to be ultra rare. At least anything with an armor or gun advantage.

Does this coincide with the "gorilla warfare" strategy?  :D

I cant believe no one has suggested it, but here it goes. I would love to see a working freight train. It could be a great vehicle to escort bambis. It would also make a focal point for fighting other than the towns. Could cause a police force type cooperation to happen, as well as a more organized bandit force. You could spawn in and see which faction has control of it. It would make a reason for people to team up. Hero's and bandits alike. I also like the idea of the older vehicles that are already modeled in game too. I just keep thinking how awesome it would be with a functional train carrying a few box cars.

For me, it's not so much about what vehicles are put in, but when it comes to motorized vehicles, I would actually like to be forced to operate a manual transmission with the mouse (maybe just have it so that you click on the required point on the stick, to not make it too demanding) in free look, and even possibly have different buttons for the pedals, including the clutch. Maybe: W for gas, Shift for clutch, and space for brakes.

Also, bicycles. Those definitely need to be put into the game.

EDIT: The free look -thing is totally doable, since you can pretty easily fly a helicopter in 'Take on helicopters' like that.

So you basically want that all americans stop playing DayZ ^^

Why, though? Shifting really isn't that demanding. It becomes an automatism after driving for just a few months, maybe even weeks. In my eyes it'd be like having two seperate keys for each foot to simulate walking. This isn't racing, where you have to be in a specific gear to corner as fast as possible. It'll be a gimmick to say the least

I would agree with a previous poster - the types of land vehicles are not of primary importance as long as they are relevant to the context of the Chernarus setting.

Fully armed military aircraft are something I think the SA could do without.

Well I don't see what would be wrong with having relevant aircraft such as the Mi-8 or Mi-17. I don't see why it would be implausible to find a Mil Mi-17 in one of the airfield hangars...

any transport helicopter with side guns, preferably the huey

It's a lovely helicopter, but why the hell would there be one in the Chernarussian Air Force? The only vehicles should be relevant to the scene - Mi8 / Mi17s.

Well, the way I see it, if this game is a simulator, the devs might as well go all out on that aspect. Also, there are probably a bunch of people here, myself included, who have never taken a single driving lesson, and therefore can't drive. Making cars act realistically would therefore add value to people who can drive, because even if they weren't used to doing it in game, they would know the mechanics in theory and would quickly pick it up, and would therefore have an advantage over others.

I'm all for adding features that would make people more useful if they had real life experience and skills, that could be somehow translated to in-game mechanics, even if that put me at a disadvantage.

Because there was a intervention of the US/EU if I recall correctly.

But I don't think that DayZ is supposed to follow on from the story, firstly because there were so many different endings and secondly that they mainly involved the withdrawal/destruction of US equipment in Chernarus.

I swear we going to need something to troll players and zombies with. It should be fast and make so much noise it will draw zombies from every town around!  :P

Sorry for the huge picture

I hope that gas stations will not automatically refuel cars. Also that those rusty gas tanks will have limited ammount of gas, which will replenish only on server restart or even after longer periods.

AFAIK the UH-1H in ARMAII/DayZ was unmarked.

There was also a Takistani UH-1H in OA, Takistan also borders Chernarus.

Definitely think we'll need something a little more wieldy than an Mi-17/Mi-8.

An old Merc would be nice, maybe a 350 SEL.

Also the army has surplus gear stored in bomb proof bunkers theres no reason to assume the Chenarus military wouldnt do that as wel.
