Do Zombies Dream Of A Good Nights Sleep? (Zombie feedback)

I personally don't think zombies should be able to do any damage to equipment. It makes sense for a bullet fired from a gun to mess up clothes and gear, but something punching your chest isn't going to so anything to your shirt.

Not OP just horrible hit detection and desync can cause major frustration at times

 

 

Yeah they are op when they hit you while:

 

* far away

* behind walls

* invisible

* obviously missing

* teleporting

* not having an attack animation

* sliding through obstacles

* facing the other way

 

etc.

 

^ all that is where the zombie frustration comes from

You serious? I can take hits and not bleed for ages, I have only ever died by zombies once and that was when I was a fresh spawn and about 5 rushed in a building at me and this guy and they broke by legs, he shut the door and put me out my pain, I think zombies should be more powerful tbh. I am never getting ruined gear and 1 hit deaths by them

Then since new patch you have only played low ping and low pop servers because otherwise, they can be invisible, teleport, and hit you from 10 feet away on the new patch. So your gear does get ruined or you can easily die. I dont think you have seen how horrible it is for most of us.

They are glitchy as hell but not really OP.  They do tend to make you bleed a lot and they probably do way too much damage to gear but the one that that annoys me the most is their ability to detect me from f'ing miles away.  I was helping a friend gear up and after hitting up the Pavlovo military outpost and leaving town we spent the next several minutes deal with zombies coming from that town.  We killed ONE in town with a fire axe and for that we spent the next five minutes killing one and twos charging at us while we where well outside of the town and never firing a shot.

They have issues, but can be defeated with nothing more than a proverbial light breeze.

Then since new patch you have only played low ping and low pop servers because otherwise, they can be invisible, teleport, and hit you from 10 feet away on the new patch. So your gear does get ruined or you can easily die. I dont think you have seen how horrible it is for most of us.

Well yeah, I always play servers below 50 ping, just makes sense really. The only annoying this I have noticed from this patch is the FPS drop everywhere, can't record the game anymore

The amount of damage they do to your gear is a bit stupid compared to the damage they do to your character (ie. your character gets away with a bit of bleeding, but is patched up and back to healthy after a few minutes, while ALL the gear in your coat/jacket is completely ruined forever).

 

The best way around this is not to let the bastards hit you. If you're not confident about avoiding hits in melee, use bullets.

. I was at Balota yesteday and a zombie hit me twice and killed me meanwhile I was healhy and well fed.

What happened is someone probably sniped you, I say this every time and people refuse to believe that

I've NEVER been one shot by a zombie in hundreds is hours of gameplay, and the two or three times It looked like I did, someone would eiether turn up a few minutes later to loot me and get shot by my friends or bail out and run

One time one of our group got "1 hitted by a zombie" not a single one of us heard the shot, ten seconds later a guy comes running in a beeline for the body, spots us waiting, takes a shot (and again, not a single one of our 3 remaining people heard a shot, just saw smoke from his muzzle )

The sound in this game Is bugged to shit, I've played this game to death and these so called "common" OP zombie hits can be explained by you getting shot and not hearing the sound because of a game bug 99% of the time

Even if you have friends, doesn't mean the guys is gonna shoot at them too, I've had plenty of people take a shot at one of us, only to realise there's 4-5 more in hiding and they run, even snipers

I've been 1 hit my a zombie. Once. I was healthy/energised/hydrated. It was a few patches ago, mind.

 

It was definitely the zombie that killed me. I was in a windowless corridor, heard the zombie growl as it glitched through the wall, looked round and it was in my face. Then WHACK, I was dead. I don't disbelieve that it could happen in this patch as well.

This is interesting. I wonder if ping has anything to do with the bug were melee just doesn't work...were you cant even swing. I wonder if many of these bugs we are seeing are completely bandwidth and ping related. Because these bugs appear to happen sometimes and sometimes not. Not all of the time but often enough to be of notice. I wonder if this could be a good enough work for the time being.

Yeah zombies are OP. They spawn way too fast and they can't die. I blame physics for it. I was at the airfield yesterday, shot a zombie then his ragdoll kept following me and hit me, barely managed to escape.

 

Some zombies kill you instantly with 2-3 hits, and no I am not exagerating. I was at Balota yesteday and a zombie hit me twice and killed me meanwhile I was healhy and well fed.

Whaaaaaaat

 

I still 1 hit zombies.

 

I think that I'm getting old and OP now means very easy.

The amount of damage zeds do to clothes and gear is unreasonable, how for example does a zombie hitting me with its hands ruin my revolver?  I suggest remove zombie damage to gear entirely and reduce their damage to clothes to about 1/5 of what it is at the moment.  To offset that, they need to be more lethal to the player, at the moment the zombies are pretty much harmless apart from the annoying gear destruction.

Yea verily I say unto thee that In the beginning the people did say unto the lords of creation that Zombies were too weak and too few in numbers, couldn't climb stairs and could clip through walls. And the  lords heard the anguished cries of the people and bestowed faster, stronger and more numerous stair climbing and re-spawning Zeds upon the people along with a new race of hopper Zombies.

 

Now the weaker tribes of Chernarus say unto the lords of creation that the Zeds are over powered and hit too hard (snivel) and are too fast and spawn too fast.

 

Well cry me a river what happens when every wound that causes bleeding imparts the Zed-Virus to the player that must be treated with a vile player made concoction of dreaded blue berries, antibiotics, tincture of alcohol and a canteen of purified water several times to purge the infection?

 

Hell the first time a crew of Zeds followed me up to the top floor of a piano house looking for trouble it was an excellent chair jumper and even if I got hit a few times and bled I had no problem dispatching them with my FNX45 and making my escape while being chased by three new Zeds when I got outside.

 

Hint: Don't get caught by Zeds while kneeling as that makes the damage they do center on the head and upper body.

Hint: Don't expect a ballistic helmet to protect you much against Zombie hits to the grape and do dress for the likely threat and carry both a motorcycle helmet and a ballistic helmet.

Hint: Store your most valuable shit in your pack and cargo pants and do store your shit in protector cases.

Hint: When you kill a Zed its spawned replacement (2nd gen) can see you from 600yards away as opposed to the 100 yards for a 1st generation Zed.  

 

This is shit everyone knows. Are Zombies perfect? No! Are they improving Yes. Give it some time before you break out the violins.

I stopped putting anything valuable to me outside of the backpack. Everything else is just filled with cans of food for damage soak. I fired my gun in slovo yesterday on experimental and had to kill about 20 zombies. While realistic I killed most of the zombies 20-30 yards away and somehow they would still get a shot in on me even after they had fallen to the ground. Ruined my vest and jacket. 

 

I stopped carrying anything in my pants because the game will randomly break your legs for no reason and your pants and boots get ruined. Last week on stable I leaned down to pick up a mag from a lower bunk and my leg broke... 

 

The only time a backpack gets ruined is when someone shoots you and most of the time if they get the first shot in you're dead anyway so who cares. let them ruin everything.

Ok I need vary much need to ask this again. Because I have herd this mentioned many a couple times. 

 

How much of the bugs we are seeing regarding zombie weirdness (invis, going through walls, hitting at long rang) and have to do with bandwidth and server ping?? Is that all it is?

 

Does anyone have a def answer?

 

What I am thinking is DayZ SA is much much more effected by bandwidth then ever before. It maybe the cause of many of these bugs were seeing, more noticeble with zombies and melee. If its just ping related well that's simple. If thats really the case then the devs should have made it really clear before they released the patch....But its maybe a work around just to pick a server with low ping.

Damage soak is  a good way to put it. If the Zeds are destroying your gear with their attacks they are not damaging you.

 

The hits you get nailed with after you've killed a Zed that is far out of striking range for it are perplexing and are my one real complaint. I guess it has something to do with De-Sync,Ping time, and that all attacks with a gun or melee are really projectile attacks. While I am playing I always hit 'P' to check my De-Sync and avoid servers that initially have Ping Time over 100. If Rubber banding occurs at all I am off to a hiding spot and another server.

 

You have a fresh can of Beans in your pack by the way

I think a great many of the problems are directly related to bandwidth and server ping as you have suggested. As for working around it this has worked for me I think. It seems that the more lag in the system there is the more problems you can expect. Like I said when I start rubber banding, lag is present and weird effects are in evidence I haul ass to another server with better stats.   

 

You also have a fresh can of Beans in your pack.

 So everyone who plays DayZ is kind of an unknowing tester.

Unknowing Indeed!! WTF Indeed! Only non readers could possibly be 'unknowing testers'. But since those poor souls don't know that they are urged to report bugs every time they log on any observations they might have made will not be reported to the proper party. I have a feeling that their 'unknowing test reports' consist of crying on this forum because DayZ isn't just like COD with Zombies.

 

But I don't want to think of those Unknowing Testers anymore RAM-bo4250. Today is a happy day because I finally found a Longhorn and rounded up a couple of boxes of 7.62 x 51 at the NW airfield (I wish they correct the designation to 7.62 x 54r). Its nothing in the grand scheme of things but I bagged a trio of Military type zombies near the triangle military base with the Longhorn at estimated ranges of +125m, 100m, 75m and they all fell nicely. Timber! Straight back eyes to the sky.with a single shot each.

You will get your gear back soon I would imagine.  Right now I am in a piggish too much gear condition. I got greased ten days ago and lost my M4A1.and well everything. Now Im pack an SKS in my hands and have a CZ527 slung, a longhorn and an FNX45 and plenty of ammo, 10rnd clips .45, AKM  M4A1 and CZ527 mags I am ready to find that golden AKM or M4A1 and will dump the SKS and CZ527 and all their related gear when I do.

 

I want to run lighter with a scoped assault rifle, the Longhorn and the FNX45 and  an Axe. Right now I don't have room for much chow except rice so I eat everything I find on the spot. if its safe.  

 

But I think you have hit on something the happiest days are when you have nothing to lose. When I have very little to lose coming off the Beach I am free to fuck with the malignant PvP dicks at will. I usually get erased quickly but sometimes I sink the Axe or Pitchfork and get equipped quickly.  Some PvP is cool it is fun but indiscriminate PvP against marginally equipped players is weak in my book.  

 

If you haven't been there go to the tower in Novodmitrovsk go all the way to the top and run through all the rooms and chances are you will be equipped and armed when you get down and haul ass out of there. That's where I found the CZ527 and an ass load of other gear and weapons. But do it early before you care about dying.

I don't play to get geared up. I play each and every character as if it is the only one I would have. Therefore I don't go to high risk areas off the bat. My goal is to stay alive. I do risk going into towns but not high trafficked ones. Even if I have only the Tee on by back (torn into rags of course) I don't have the mindset that it's OK to risk it. I also only play on 1st person sites. That's what makes this game so great. Everybody gets to play like they want. I do however have strong feelings on certain things.

WHEN ZOMBIES ARE KILLED MY CHARACTER IS PUSHED AWAY LIKE 5 METRES

 

I was pushed off of an ac tower by a dead zombie killing me, my friend found it funny , but I didn't find 11 hours of looting for nothing funny, lost m4 with acog, 1 grenade and 3 flash + rest of stuff you normally carry

 

its meant to be a zombie apocalypse game so fix the damn zombies, they're no fun to kill anymore you made them worse with introduction of this ragtag crap that doesn't even work correctly...I mean how can you let this shiit run in the game day in day out ! I know its alpha but the games meant to improve not get worse
