Yes, we did...317 responses worth.

God that thread was a clusterfuck. Can't we leave it at that?

It was, wasn't it.  Just afraid we're headed there AGAIN!

YAY, all aboard the redundancy train of redundancy!

i currently am fully kitted on both, i feel like hardcore is more PvP stylish and i feel like dressing like just a normal survivor on regular, kind of like having 2 different personalities

I play hardcore because the game is a survival simulator; it's basically a social experiment to see how people interact in a zombie apocalypse. Seeing over/through walls is ridiculous in this sense, so I only play hardcore. I play softcore when I feel like dicking around.

I play both. In the regular you'll see me in TTsKO set with an SKS, you know, military style to stay hidden in the woods. Whatever camo suits me.

In Hardcore though, you'll see me wearing civilian gear. What I'm trying to accomplish here is to look like a looter. Does anybody got a crowbar they can spare? Trade ya my fireaxe!

Both, because I like to piss off people who say I need to choose one.

Actually, I enjoy playing both as I'm provided with ever changing encounters per session.

I want to step up to hardcore but feel I still need to learn a lot about the game before I do.

I'm sure this has been asked/answered elsewhere but does anyone know if there are going to be any extensions to hardcore? I.E. Not just 1st person perspective.

"Step up to hardcore", haha. I like that. Hardcore is no harder than regular. I actually feel safer in hardcore as I know I'm harder to spot. I honestly find it easier/less stressful to play.

I would love to play both, but am forced to play regular as I get motion sickness about an hour into first person view. Sucks because I really like it, but i'm a puss when it comes to motion sickness...can't even look at my phone riding shotgun in a car. lame!

Try disabling head-bob in your options menu.

3pp because I played a lot of gears of war and cod 3rd person view gamemode. I can use the same tactics that I used in those games.

Beans for you because your statement is so true.  I take shortcuts on (finger quotes)hardcore(finger quotes) that I wouldn't dare take on regular... running through fields and such.

I feel safer on these servers than I do on so called PVE servers.

I wish I could play BF4, COD, Titanfall, and all the other 1st person triple A shooters out there in 3rd person. Man that would be fantastic. In fact.. maybe we could play 1st person shooters, like dude, from like the perspective of an RTS?? That would be even better. Or dude,  zoom out like a god game so's you can see the whole planet and see everybody hiding behind walls or camping roofs and stuff.

Sigh.. shame the game got hijacked by kiddies.

I appreciate you can choose whether to play in 1st or 3rd; but the perception of the game, in the public's eye, is of a 3rd person MMO. That is a shame.

I generally prefer first person, but I've been playing on regular servers due to other people who play. The funny thing is that I don't tend to wall-peek. I know people think it is extremely advantageous, but I tend to find that using general tactics works much better. Slice the pie with your gun drawn and it seems to me that you'll get the drop on another player much easier than peeking around a wall and over-thinking your move.

The only problem with this is that it doesn't lend itself to "interaction". That is, it is much better to train yourself to pull that trigger when an armed player passes your cross-hairs.

Is there another mode than hardcore ?

Yeah, there is teenage girl mode AKA regular/3rd person view.

I recently tried to play regular mode. I died after two minutes. Someone in a random apartment building with a M4 and a hoxton mask just sat there and waited for people. Regular players are truly a strange kind...

Say if you have a big coat or backpack on its in the way and you cant look behind you, plus I feel extra slow in 1st Person.

That makes your gear choice more challenging or you just have to be aware of it and turn your body before turning your head. Easy to overcome.

Third person is much more playable with low fps so it'll hopefully always have a place here.

Hardcore - mostly because of better immersion.

Wait is this thread a thing again?

* Sigh *

Ok, once more, I play hardcore because I am a better person than those who play lamecore. Everything else is irrelevant..  ^_^

i play hardcore because third person reminds me of PAC MAN

where´s the kick in peeping around a corner without the chance of getting shot ???

come on tell me .... no one ???

thats what i thought !

everyone whos defending third person is using that build in wallhack, hes forced to use it.

im old, have two kids, a wife and i dont need a mirror over my bed to get turnend on . so why would i need one in my free time .

I'm afraid to play 1PV.  It's just too "hardcore."  And "immersive."

If this whole converstation *must* happen again, then I'll throw in.

I don't play hardcore as frequently because its really hard to climb on to the high horse that seems to be a requirment of 1st person players.
