Problem With No Longer Spawning In/near Cherno

Recommended Posts

Cherno has become a Ghost town since they made it so you spawn less frequently near Cherno and Balota. Why not just move Balota a little farther north and keep the spawns as they were?

Anyone Agree/Disagree with this? If not why?

You can't easily move a whole airfield without upsetting other stuff. Theres the NE Airfield that has reasonable military gear, most people head there. All for the best if you ask me, make them explore other parts of the map appart from the usual Balota camps and Cherno snipers. ;) Balota has a bad name, and is a no go area for me, unless I want to get killed by server hoppers.

I bought dayz last week, and not ONCE have I spawned anywhere on the south cost (balota, cherno, elektro, etc). It's really annoying because everything on the east coast is a stupid place to be, there is nothing to do, and berazino isn't fun anymore.  And YES, I know you could just simply run to an airfield or something, but come on, I don't feel like freaking running 8,000M just to simply get to a city I HAVEN'T EVEN BEEN TO YET.

Yeah but what I've noticed is all they did was change the side of the map where you see a lot of action.

By removing the West of Electro spawns they made Berezino incredibly active to a point where it is the new Cherno, you can get to the Airfield near Berezino fairly quick if you know where to go.

Meh, I have become kinda bored with the strategy I was playing before:

1 - Slink around towns, making sure it is safe.

2 - Loot town.

3 - Repeat until you have 3 bags of rice, 3 canteens, unlimited small food and medical supplies. Throw out what you dont need. Get bored.

4 - Go to airfield, get guns and unlimited ammo and long range scope.

5 - Go to big city, get killed by sniper, and get pissed off.

6 - Restart at step 1.

So now my play is:

1 - Respawn at Kam, and try to kill yourself.

2 - Respawn at Solnich, Kill self.

3 - Keep spawn killing until:

A - You get Brezno:

4 - Server hop in office building until you get a gun.

5 - Go to a loaded server, "hunt the most dangerous game", and actually enjoy yourself.

6 - Get combat experience.

7 - Get killed, not care about it, and go back to spawn killing.

B - You get Elektro:

4 - Start exploring and find weapons even in 39/40 server.

5 - Stay on the same server, and enjot playing "Hide and seek".

6 - Get actual combat experience.

7 - Get killed, not care about it, and go back to spawn killing.

Honestly, until more content is added to this game, they need to seriously reconsider these spawn points. I really like this game (both the difficulty / frustration and the survival aspects), but I am growing tired of designers' attempts to force behavior.

I mean seriously, you removed spawn points because people weren't play the way you wanted them to play???

If you've seen the movie "Predators" then you'll understand when I say you should spawn while falling from the sky and deploy a paracute and land where you would like... Of course people would land in Air fields, Army bases and Main Cities - That's where the "fun" is...

People choose thier own spawns by suicide lol because of the broken spawn locations, so no matter if you against this idea! 97% people are spawning near air fields, army bases and main cities any ways in a stupid fashion.

Yeah I really agree with this. Unless you are new to the game everyone who has ever been to Balota knows that going to the Balota Airfield is/was asking to get shot and most people that went into it knew the consequences. I can see why they would remove the Balota spawn, but idk why they had to remove all of the other Coastal spawns West of Electro.

marc that's a horrible idea because people could just kill anyone before they touch the ground.

People would find very high locations and shoot people with Mosins as they are descending

They should just turn Balota into a civilian airfield with a refugee camp (that spawns relatively useful medical supplies), move the Pavlova military base further north, and add the southern spawns back.

Me thinks spawn points should be in random houses throughout the map.  I never understood why we spawned on the beach.  Were we out for a day in the sun frolicking in the surf in our pants when the world went to shit?

hmmm.

You yourself admittedly suicide off buildings to get a better spawn.  I can only imagine how much suiciding you and others would be doing if Balota was back adding to the clusterfuck of dead bodies slowing down servers.  Not to mention you'd probably server hop there too as you seem to like to do in Berezino.

So you really like the core aspects of the game, yet you whine about spawn points and then also server hop. Really!?

Honestly you guys who are bitching about spawn points want things just handed to you. The so called design flaws are anything but...

DayZ is about survival and definitely not a game of convenience, so what you think is a flaw is actually the way the game is supposed to be. People want to spend more time committing suicide and within that time of endless stupidity, they could be getting what they need to survive and playing the game the way they should. People really need to htfu and realize it's not DayZ that needs to change, it's your playstyle that needs to change.

As I said in another thread much like this one... DayZ is what it is and if you're disappointed this early in the piece, then you need to move on and not look back because it's only going to get worse for you.

Welcome to DayZ!

See..this is what's cool about this game..

Cherno becomes a ghost town, and when it does, it's value suddenly skyrockets and players flock to it. Why? because ghost town like cherno = high loot and low risk

And naturally, if you have a large influx of players to one single location, then other locations will become less frequented, creating a cycle of a sort of "supply and demand" for towns. It's really cool, actually

If you think you Need to suicide to get "a better spawn" and than rant about you dident you dident understand what "survival" means.

You try to make the best out of the Cards that have been handed to you. Me and my folk have found shitaton of stuff in seemingly looted towns....

* I should add that I actually really like the Sobor spawn location. Why??? Because it gives me options of where to go next. I didn't include it in the above as it is an exceedingly rare spawn.

Kam and Sol do not give me any real options. Sol - go north to Ber. Kam, well you are screwed because north is Sol, NW are small villages that typically don't spawn loot, and west is Elektro death trap. AND since there are so many spawn locations in those areas, most directions have already been looted AND can be spawn camped.

Elektro, you can go into Elektro, west to Cherno, North to Sobor and other reasonably sized villages.

Your sense of sueriority when you write "Welcome to DayZ" or "because Alpha" is astonishing to behold.

I die based on how I choose to play the game.

If playing survival, I have gone days / weeks without dying (cause all you need to do is find food, water and a bush in the forest.

Once you grow bored of playing survival (easy mode), I typically make a bad choice by going near a costal city and die to a sniper.

But since it takes forever to get back to the same area, I am not given the opportunity to gain experience with the typical sniping spots, and appropriate counter measures. (It took a long time to even discover the alt key)

I am relatively new to DayZ, and never played ArmA before either. So I need a lot of combat and sneaking experience to catch up.

Afterall, it is easy to sneak when no one is there to see you.

So because you prefer a smaller map and less diversity I should be forced into your behavior?

Shadow Jack:

The concentration of the spawn points artificially makes the map "smaller".

I prefer a much wider variety of spawns as opposed to the following

Number of spawns : location

1 : Navy Sobor

2 : Elektro

5+ : Kam

5+ : Sol

3 : Islands on south coast

1 : Berez

I am not sure, but I suspect that each spawn location has a separate probabilty value. Kam and Sol are very high spawn locations.

I think a survival game should reward people, who constantly commits suicide with the best spawn. Actually if you die more than three times in an hour, you should spawn with a M4 and full survival gear. Suicide is the new end game.

Just an idea, but have you tried going west/northwest? Although newspawns do tend to behave like moths to a flame, last time I checked newspawns wasn't automatically sucked into certain places, you actually do have freedom of movement (unless blocked by armed players of course). So no, those are far from the only "real options".

Only if you have an attention span like a goldfish it does: "Oh, I spawned in Sol now I just have to go to Berezino or commit suicide. I used to spawn in Balota, which meant I had to go to Balota Airfield or Cherno. The game simply doesn't leave me any other choice!"

Sometimes it seems the AI of newspawns is worse than the zombie AI.
