Mine would be getting killed by a liar. The liar does anything to get your guard down and kills you for you gear. It stings each time, if you don't manage to fend the threat off because if you die, you feel kinda stupid for it.

Fully kitted out, end game scenario, me and a friend were sniping other end games at the new town added after the patch, we got flanked and my mate died, i hid in the bushes while the new comers snarled, yes snarled over the direct chat for a while, i spotted them shortly after looked down the sights put half a mag into the two of them only for my bullets to be stuck mid air by a collision glitch, they knew where i was then so i had to leg it away, got hit a few times and had to bandage, spent 20 mins waiting in hiding before one of them made himself known again, i crawled up near him, talking 50 yards tops raised my m4 once more and fired of few shots, which should of killed him, but no instead ANOTHER collision glitch happened and he casually got up turned around spotted me THEN raised his gun and calmly put 1 shot in my head, all the while i was blasting away hopefully  at the seemingly terminator in front of me.

Dont mind dieing in a fair fight but that was bollix to say the least.

Me and my mate did get them about 2 hours later though 2 on 5 and got 4 of them before one of them combat logged and ghosted us .....not before hiding all his buddies gear that is......least we got them though.

Being a fresh spawn and looting in peace when suddenly a fully kitted guy came out of a corner and filled my body with hot lead that was fired from his M4. Well, it was Cherno where I spawned on, so no surprises. This happened a few patches ago before people would only spawn on the East coast.

Logging in in a forest near Devils Castle with my couple of days old weapon packed character on a half full server. For some reason the loading screen wouldn't disappear and I was seeing the "please wait.." blackscreen message for maybe 20 seconds, I was able to hear the environment noises, then, for a fraction of a second I heard that terrifying noise of a bullet flying towards me and then the "please wait..." turns into "You are dead." Didn't even hear the mosin shot. so I guess, good shot fellow survivor. Also, at least the game asked me politely to wait for my upcoming fate. Still annoying because I had no chance of doing anything.

I had a similar encounter, Though mine was simply me desyncing while in the building next to the air tower NE airfield, in the cell right when you walk in. Having said desync, I logged out since I couldn't even open the door to get out. I server hop a few times, trying to get one I had a better connection to and just got unucky. I spawn in the third server and (without getting stuck at the please wait screen) die the second my character had to be visible. The guy must've seen me materialize from thin air. I was only mad because all I was doing was trying to find a server I could connect to. (The desync I tend to get seems to be related to the server host)

Latest death this Saturday.

Started well. Killed a decently-geared fellow in the grand piano house with my magnum, take his M4 + a couple of clips and rush out the same door, only to face his mate on one knee 20 yards away across the street, aiming his Mosin straight at my chest. I'm done.

 

"Top of the world" feeling lasted a good 30 secs. My 1st M4 since the update, felt good in my hands. I could have changed the world given a chance.

Some fresh spawn killed a full geared guy in the middle of the street of Kamyshovo. Suddenly another spawn came, and they both had a fight over the gear. I quickly ran there, grabbed everything (Pristine M4, 3 full ammo boxes, all the military clothes stuff and lots of other things), and suddenly shots from everywhere. I ran behind a wall and saw 2 geared guys investigating Kamyshovo. They couldn't find me. I peeked around the corner of the wall, and they nearly ran right into my face. I shot the first guy, he dropped down. The second guy ran behind the wall. I was on one side, he on the other side. I didn't want to lose my gear just now. I walked into a corner & waited. Like 30 seconds later, he jumped out of cover, and I wasted a whole 60 bullet magazine into him, and I can tell for sure that at least 90% hit the target. But strangely he didn't die. He just started sliding, aiming at me. And like 5 seconds later, poof. I'm dead. No shots fired from his side, nothing.

Damn I was pissed. Sudden lags for the win. Not.

I have another story, this one not so much annoying as simply interesting.

 

So there were four of us, Me and my buddy Canine had been playing DayZ for days now and had our full kit going, M4s and .45s as well as all the supplies we needed. Our other two friends had just bought the game and were learning the basics, one of which took a good 5 minutes to figure out how to drink a soda. Anyways, there we were, Me, Canine, Joe, and Reality, next to the lighthouse on the southeastern corner of the map...

 

Deciding to head to what had to be the safest airfield (before the eastern shore spawn changes) we decide to head up north to scavenge the coastal towns til we hit the lumber mill, then to cut across a mountain to Krasnostav and the airfield. We move along, checking houses and collecting some basic provisions for our newbies, doing our own thing until we heard a scream from up the street. There, we saw Joe, lying prone at the base of a ladder. He had fallen and broke his legs. We gather our group and decide what to do next. After a minute, its decided that I will escort our fallen comrade to a nearby shed where I can protect him while Reality and Canine go off in search of a stick to splint our buddy, Reality sticking to the nearby area since I would be more readily available to aid him from zombies given his ungeared state while Canine headed into the mill to check there. Since we don't all have mics for the PC, we were using xbox 360 party chat and therefore could communicate anywhere at any time.

 

After a good five minutes of making sure Joe was fed and taken care of, I began to get a bit ansy since I wasn't directly aiding in finding him a splint, but before I could decide what I should do, our buddy Canine reports that he was shot, sniped out while trying to grab a quick soda from his pack. It took only a moment to know what I had to do. I set down my pack and handed my sidearm to Joe, "Canine is down," I said to him, "Here, take my pack, it has plenty of food and drink, as well as basic medical gear and other things you might find useful. And take this," I say as I hand him the trusty .45 with my two spare mags, the gun that saved my life on four previous encounters. I check my STANAG and load some spare rounds into the backup clip then move to the door," I might not come back, so you shoot anything that comes through that door you hear me? Don't let anyone in until Reality has the splint." Then I take a deep breath and set off to the mill.

 

I make sure to be careful, as there were still zombies between me and the building Canine believes he was shot from. moving quickly and quietly, I approach a stone wall that leads all the way to the target building, and from where I was, I could see a guy on the second story balcony. Only his head and the barrel of his M4 were visible, but I had my shooter. I slowly approached the building, hugging the wall as to not be in direct line of sight to the gunman on the roof. About 20 feet from the door I pause, my brow beginning to sweat, my heart racing, I could hear voices. There were three of them as far as I could tell. I was heavily outnumbered, but I also had the element of suprise especially considering how close I knew I was. I debated my next move, knowing that if I got closer my footsteps would give me away for sure, but before I had another thought, a guy came out the front door, crouchwalking his way to a nearby tree. He made it half way. I no longer held the element of suprise, but having used only four rounds I was far from having to reload and one M4 weilding bandit now lie dead in front of me. Only seconds pass before I see the owner of the second voice I heard behind a tree only feet from my previous victim, but he has nothing but his jeans and a plain white shirt. Regardless, he seemed like he was heading for his buddy's M4 and that was not going to happen. I fire a three round burst, then another, but he ducks behind the tree. I move in and get a solid shot and hold the trigger. "THIS IS FOR CANINE YOU BASTARDS!!" I yell through direct chat, as I pour bullets towards the guy, but before I see him drop I realize that half the rounds I heard being fired, weren't mine. Before the guy drops, my vision fades black and I am dead.

 

After respawning, I realize I'm only a few minute's walk from the scene so I decide to investigate. Upon arriving I see two bodies. The bandit I killed had half his gear strewn about him, as well as my body. Most of it ruined, it was obvious the guy who shot me had tried to salvage what he could from the mess. I was disappointed that two of our group had died while they lost only one, but then I realized something. The guy I was shooting as I died had no gear, so why was there so much on the ground? No weapons had been taken either. Something didn't add up. I checked the front door of the building and there he was, blood spewing from his gut, dead. He hadn't made it after all, my shots caused him to bleed out before he could bandage up. I had evened the score between our groups. So I gather what supplies I could as Canine arrives at the scene to do the same, but this time he had found a stick. We head back to the shed to find Joe still there and get him on his feet again. It felt like victory seeing him on his feet again. With Reality nowhere to be found (he has a tendancy to get lost) we make off for the airfield where Joe manages to not only collect tons of gear, but goes on to survive for more than 20 hours of gameplay later, not a bad run for his first life in DayZ, and an interesting story to tell of his buddy, giving his life to avenge another.

I was fresh spawned, unarmed and running in and out of building.

 

I entered one building, I heard some one yelling friendly friendly. I turned to the sound and saw him coming in to my face with a fire axe. He chopped me into pieces.

 

I think he figured i was unarmed after saying friendly... Once you are not armed, you don't deserve having friends...

Me and a group of Guys from our clan all got taken out by server hoppers who kept ghosting us at balota airfield.

 

we were moving through and one by one we all got taken out by two guys who hopped in and out of the server several times, flanking us etc. 

 

everytime we got the drop on them, they would combat log, change position and then come back and take one of us out. 

 

It was horrible, we all refuse to combat log or anything, we play the game fair, hopefully in the future there will be a way they can stop or at least limit the server hopping/ghosting.

This was one i wrote earlier but it got locked, i guess that was a annoying death, the death of my heart, the death of freedom.

 

Imagine, running around the wilderness. You see what looks like a group of friendly survivors, thrilled you start running towards them guns holstered. Then all of a sudden they pull out their weapons and take aim. You stop and make a friendly oompa loompa dance, this doesn't disarm the situation. You see one of them step forward and crouch, and you decide your not going out without a fight. So you pull out your pistols and start charging towards them yelling "THE SOUTH WILL RISE AGAIN!!!" through direct chat whilst firing at them. As you are running towards them you take multiple shots to the arms and chest, this doesn't deter you as you are hitting them as well. The one shooting you is hit and falls over dead, so they all start taking aim. At this point you are twenty meters away and getting closer, they thought this would be an easy kill, but little did they know you were dual-wielding two pistols. You were out for blood, facing death with a vengeance. They start firing, but you are firing back managing to take down two more. You fall at the feet of the two remaining bandits and shoot them both in the gonads, as they howl in pain you fire two more shots, ending them. You then roll over, laying in a pool of blood, both your's and their blood. As you pass, the pain fades away and you only feel happiness. The universe closing in around you, slip into another plane of existence. Beautiful but terrifying at the same time. What will come of you, will anyone miss you. You remember your loved ones, and your friends who have passed. But none have died a warriors death. As you think, you wonder, what is thought, what is life, are we just pieces in a game. And then you realise, the whole point of life is life. To be the best that you can be, to make yourself welcome to the gods. As you come to a conclusion, a intense light appears. Its blinding but so soft, as you ascend to the heavens. You are dead...

Just joined a group of players through this forum and had been running with them for about 2-3 hours, server resets so some of us go onto another server but only 2 of 5 can get in. My brother enters my end room and tells me what time I want dinner, I swivel round in my chair tell him, turn back and I am dead, killed by another member of this group all for my mowing w/ long range scope ( before most recent patch)

Another annoying death:

Day after most recent patch character is reset and I can only find night time servers, so I head to berezino from my spawn in kamyshovo where I found some food a rucksack and a firefighter axe, headed towards building site w/ crane outside of berezino and am shot dead 1 hit KO I was still in my jeans and t-shirt. Good kill by him but still Annoying as I was more or less a fresh spawn

in balota on a server that just rebooted and there is only 3 other players on, in the tents grabbing gear and attachments for my M4 when I have to go to the bathroom, so I go, comeback and it's all fine, I turn around to grab my headset and as I turn back I see another player with an m4 who has just shot me 1 time, I press F2 but as I do it's too late he as already decided to kill me( had I been held up I woulda co-operated) and he shoots me again and it says 'you are dead'

Running down the coast to meet a friend giving away gear, I run into a fresh spawn and I give him some food, he follows me so I think whatever and I see another player who is bleeding about 100m away and this fresh spawn is just telling me to kill him,shoot him and I don't KoS so I say no, this other guy comes closer and I go to bandage him. As I do the fresh spawn starts punching me in the head and this guy I am bandaging who has an axe does nothing ( huge idiot) I get knock unconscious, the fresh spawn takes my M4 and shoots the other guy and runs off .... ( w*nker) turns out that the fresh spawn had less than 2hrs in game ( he had typed so I knew his name, then I searched him on steam) kinda my fault for being so unaware, but he bandaging action wouldnt cancel. And as a Medic I don't shoot people unless attacked as it would be counter-productive XD

3 of us engage 3 spawn campers. 2 of us have our bullets stopped by collision glitches, the third couldnt get an angle. They log. 10 mins later we notice movement, so I go to check it out. the most m4 rounds Ive ever seen in game whizz by my head. They ghosted in with an additional 3 people. Had to run to find cover. The dirt dances in the air as the bullets strike in front of me. Im hit once, twice, 3 times...almost to safety...the fourth round drops me.

I had been hiding out in a 2 story house in Berezino when all of the sudden my mate told me he was taking fire down on the street. He successfully retreated to the apartments in the middle of town, however, I was sniped in the leg by a Mosin. When I was sniped in the leg, I was desyncing. The shots agro'd a zombie at me and I died from being hit through the floor by a zombie.

desync is really scary and it happens at just the right time too. Always when you run across another player. Especially makes gun fights and fending off hostile new spawns difficult. That's why I have hotkeyed List of players so that I could check the desync from time to time.

I had something similar happen. I logged out on the second story inside a building in a northern town and when I was logging back in the next day, I sat there waiting for the "Please wait.." to go away for about 30 seconds. Finally I was able to see my surroundings just in time to get a quick 1 second glimpse of a guy directly in front of me aiming an M4 before I saw the "You are dead.." screen. Definitely annoying when that happens.
