papazombie 25 Posted January 26, 2014 well, this is my last alpha. I´ve been at warz before this and sadly at this moment it´s happening the same. they promise AI zombies is the first but patch after patch zombies are the great forgotten. The big problem with this prepaid prealphas is all players asking for things that they want to see ingame. Hardcore gamers want more pvp features and oldschool gamers more PVE improvements. Dev try to give a bit to all players and finally the game goes to no place. we never have a finish and polish game. I expected that DAYZ wasn´t going to be like this but it takes the same road. in one month the core of the game is still the same; we have more shoes, more trousers, we can paint our mosin?!? more drinks with funny games but mothing important like a new AI zombie, a better melle combat system...well, this is last prealpha for me :)
Guest Posted January 26, 2014 I understand your opinion dude, but you've got to realise that every time they release a patch, the game will respond by throwing up more bugs :/ I would ask that you say around because it's early days, but it's your loss

Hopefully the zombie AI gets nailed down quicker but again i see allot of other things being done first so it can be troubling to see this.
papazombie 25 Posted January 26, 2014 well, this alpha seemed interesting, but after last patch I´m starting to think that this is going to be the same than WARZ. promises, promises promises.maybe next patch we see improvements in big things and no more weapons or clothes or drikns...lets cross our fingers ;)
TedZ 424 Posted January 26, 2014 I hope you change your mind.

Nebulae3 422 Posted January 26, 2014 The map is huge, so they should really consider to increase the amount of players pr. server.30/40 players on this map is ridiculous. This game was never meant to be PvE, and where did u read that?

Most of us actually want to see PVE progression with this game. PVP is just a side hobby. To be honest the main driving force of this game is the zombies. Without them its just another call of duty sim. And im sure allot of players dont want that to happen especially hard core zombie nuts like me. I only bought this game for the zombies as i hope most others would have.
Nebulae3 422 Posted January 26, 2014 Zombie fetish! :)
Nebulae3 422 Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) The main game concept is about survival. Zombies will smell 'fresh meat' in a horror world - similar like the orcs in the LOTR movie. However, this is not CoD or BF4 with K/D ratio and capture the flag kind of approach.Try to play it; how many (days) can you survive..I mentioned about the amount of players, because it's easy to use the terrain to remain hidden, and the map is huge.. So that's why they need to increase 'item' spawn timer with more players on each server in my opinion. -Ori Edited January 29, 2014 by Ori42
papazombie 25 Posted January 26, 2014 it would be a waste focus this game in pvp, it has a big potencial to limit it to pvp like has been warz. Chernarus is amazing and if they improve PVE features it will be incredible ;)if somebody wants a pvp game go to COD, Battlefield or Warz...

Pandema 352 Posted January 26, 2014 Isn't the current lack of zombies due to a performance issue meaning that they have to choose between loot and zombies right now?
dagnome 50 Posted January 26, 2014 (edited) You can't compare DayZ Standalone to a movie. Unless you meant to compare it to "Infestation: Survivor stories" ya you must have meant THAT game, couldn't be the WarZ. Edited January 26, 2014 by Dagnome
KingOfTime 267 Posted January 26, 2014 I too got burned by war(z), and realised it when they had nothing working and the "alpha" only lasted a month before the beta started. That being said, I still think that this game is great, and will improve over time. Of course, an alpha isnt the time to have fun lol, its time to test! Also, I think Rocket probably wants to have a decent name for himself and not become hated like sergey titov....I feel like I need to clean my keyboard after typing his name. You're comparing DayZ to WarZ, WarZ who got kicked off from Steam after 48 hours, because they were claiming that their map Colorado was twice as big as Cherrnarus and contained other exaggerated or non-existing features, DayZ on the other hand had an ALLCAPS warnings about the status of the game and recommend that you only purchase, if you're willing to put up with serious issues and wanted to actively help development. When WarZ heard Rocket say "Think of the Standalone as a foundation we build upon," Sergei Titov quickly announced: "Alpha stage is done, WarZ has now reached it's foundation and this foundation build will be released on Steam." Nothing had actually changed in WarZ, they just changed the word Alpha to Foundation, then launched on Steam and subsequently got kicked off for false advertising. While WarZ claimed to sell a finished product, DayZ did not. You problem is that you knowingly bought an unfinished game, but expected a finished product. Next time do a little research before you purchase your next Steam game.

Next time do a little research before you purchase your next Steam game. Its not about that its about continuing to update zombie mechanics and behavior. Yes its alpha but we dont want it to take over a year for small things to change. Ill give it 4 months at best any thing over that and you would surely question i would hope where the direction of the game is headed. Its taken WarZ/ISS over a year to do anything and they scrapped one of the big changes to allow zombies to grab players on higher ground because pvpers would find it "TO HARD" to play through. TheHamilbum 1 Posted January 26, 2014 I don't know if anyone else has posted this yet as i haven't read them all but... I does say in big capital letters on steam: "WARNING: THIS GAME IS EARLY ACCESS ALPHA. PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE IT UNLESS YOU WANT TO ACTIVELY SUPPORT DEVELOPMENT OF THE GAME AND ARE PREPARED TO HANDLE WITH SERIOUS ISSUES AND POSSIBLE INTERRUPTIONS OF GAME FUNCTIONING." Therefore, you should just vent to someone irl or a priest.
