The sks is chambered for 7.62x39mm, same as the AK-47. So, not quite as deadly as the mosin.

I think they should divide the spawn allocation of the M$ between the SKS and the M4. Same amount of rifles, but now two different kinds. Couple that with now having to find more separate parts to fix them with and they become rarer.

It should do more damage, yes.

"Soviet 7.62x39mm - The Soviet AK-47 Kalashnikov fires a full-metal-jacketed, boat-tail bullet that has a copper-plated steel jacket, a large steel core, and some lead between the two. In tissue, this bullet typically travels for about 26cm point-forward before beginning significant yaw. This author observed, on many occasions, the damage pattern shown in Fig. 2 while treating battle casualties in Da Nang, Vietnam (1968). The typical path through the abdomen caused minimal disruption; holes in organs were similar to those caused by a non-hollow-point handgun bullet. The average uncomplicated thigh wound was about what one would expect from a low-powered handgun: a small, punctuate entrance and exit wound with minimal intervening muscle disruption."

True, ill give you the overall damage is not the greatest, but i said tear, not destroy. I actually did mean it tears. It goes in, and almost always right out. Considering the steel core, it does what its meant to. plus, this hole usually mean bleeding. a good bit of it.

Source maybe? and maybe a description of the 5.56 and the damage it can cause. I have an sks...but Ive never shot any flesh with it lol.

Looking forward to seeing what kind of parts its going to require to function right. If its going to be like the M4 in terms of part separation or more solid like the mosin.

Most like just like the mosin, hopefully be able to add a PU scope to it.

Anyway if in other games its op so it probably op in dayz too.

Other games tend to make certain weapons over powered for no reason in terms of damage even though other weapons use the same caliber.

If I remember correctly, in Dayz 5.56 ammo did 3500 damage, while the 7.62 x 39 ammo did 4500 (when using the AKM). And I -think- they made the SKS do more damage than the 5.56 ammo but less than than the AKM's 7.62 x 39 ammo damage.

Get yourself some ballistics gel, or even better, The full Ballistics Gel Torso!  It'll cost you a decent penny or 4, but you'll see what kinda damage your weapon will inflict.  :)

Already have a pristine one ready for that and a long range if they allow us to! :D

But like i really NEVER use these guns to hunt players with. I love just hunting zombies with the various weapons.

If this is the damage that's implemented it would be ridiculous.
