To me Gews it seems your reasoning isn't really valid, what most of us said is we want a rare gun.

Now if they added it now then it probably wouldn't be so rare, what we would need is a good few main weapon loot fillers like double barrels, 22's and bolt actions.

My reasoning seems sound to me, leaving the C96 out would be more "authentic" than including it. Time spent working on a C96 is time that could have been spent on something else. There are other firearms out there.

Takerov and Nagant Revolver would be nice, but they're both old they're both collectors firearms,

The Tokarev is not a collector's firearm, with the Yugoslavian M57 and Chinese Type 54 as well as Darra-made Pakistani ".30 bore" copies it's extremely widespread. There are millions upon millions.

what are you saying a C96 is harder to load than a revolver?

Guns shouldn't be left out of dayZ because they're bad, or any game for that matter.

They made twice as many M1895s compared to Mausers and it was standard issue.

I like the Broomhandle Mauser but we're just going to have to disagree on this one.

Work on clips may also speed up functionality for other weapons as well.

Varied reload speeds.

Such a unique weapon, helping to speed up the programming processes of other firearms.

Like the Alpha, it would be a great base for many other firearms.

Now if it was added, it needs to be extremely rare, like M136 in the mod rare.

In-game though, it would be a pretty good weapon. No magazines needed, common ammo (if the Tokarev is in) and accurate.

I did some research on using 7.62 in 7.63, and it turns out that a Tokarev can use mauser ammo. No idea how it fits but it does. Infact, some earky PPD SMGs were apparently marked "7.63x25."

So if a tokarev can use 7.63, i'de say a Mauser can use 7.62 with pretty good accuracy.

And as for it not being used anymore,it is a collector's gun, in the west.

They are apparently still used in Afghanistan and i bet are rarely seenin eastern Europe.

The west has to many collectors and to few Mausers for criminals to get them.

That is, if they aren't being blown up in Australia.

Yes, gun extremely rare.

Ammo type: undecided, largely based on other weapons.

I'm okay with it being rare, I just know that it will keep me searching to the end of time.

Rare guns like this that hit the spot for a lot of people will keep them poking around houses up North and West and off the south & east coasts making life miserable for the people that have just come back from misfortunate deaths.

That was what I thought.

I really hope the devs are fans of the C96 too.

Such a nifty gun and not many games could get it working right with removable stock and clips.

Rockets reply on Reddit is making my day after day after day.

Love this weapon. That they are possible going to implement it is awesome. Last two guns missing are the original Sturmgewehr and an Ak47

If you're intent on seeing a surplus WWII sidearm in the game, I'd rather it being a TT-33 or one of it's many variants. Not to mention, 7.62x25 would be a nice caliber to have against some light ballistic vests (Level II or under).

I def want to see the C96 its one of my favorite pistols, they could have the stock as a mod and maybe a even rarer selective fire ver.

There is a M4 rifle in the game but no AK-47 HMMM.

Exactly, since when we are talking about weapons not fitting into the environment and still there is a freakin american M4 !

Not sure exactly what the story is for the M4's I guess it is just going off the Arma 2 campaign and US soldiers being there.

But I just do not like the 'feel' of M4 being anything other than super rare, this is alpha stage so hopefully it gets put down to be as rare as an M14 in the mod, and any other US guns maybe not something like M9 should be even rarer.

Who says the CDf didn't adopt M4s after 2009? The US was obviously giving them military support.

Looks like you got heard norris. Now vote for my Nagant :/

That is interesting to think about, but the tactical jacket has a U.s flag on it (I don't like that) they would most likely have guns for most of their military that they are probably already trained with.

I would like to know more about the background, because it is very hard to know what the loot tables should be like.

But I rather feel they shouldn't be common and let things like the AK-74M take the most common AR position.

I voted yes for your Nagant.

Heres all you need to know about Chernarus's history

"The Kozub dynasty ruled until 1631, when Chernarus joined the Russian empire. After the revolution in 1917 Chernarus became an autonomic federal republic, after the demise of the USSR in 1991 it gained independence." - Arma 2 Official Website.

So USSR = lots of Soviet guns, would the country be rich enough to try changing their standard service rifles after the war?

Maybe... But I think the AK-74M is just as good as the M4.

Why spend a whole lot on something that is in my eyes, just more expensive although customisable.

Either way we talk about C96
