AttackMacaque 0 Posted June 30, 2014 Howdy folks! I'd really like to play this game and help with development. This is the MMO I've been waiting for (played Star Wars Galaxies years ago, and made some money, but never MMO'd since). Desktop or laptop? DesktopMonitor resolution: 1080pCPU: Core i5 @ 3.4Graphics card: Radeon 7950RAM:* 32GB DDR3 1600SSD? (Yes/No) Yes I'm more concerned about internet speed than system specs. And this is about as fast as I can get upload wise unless I want to pay HUGE amounts for fiber. Comments please!

RoryH00 0 Posted July 2, 2014 I require a MacBook for school so I'm upgrading my laptop to the retina MacBook Pro 15". I intend on waiting for the next line up to arrive who should hopefully include broadwell and an upgraded Nvidia card. If I buy the laptop it will be the top model. (At the moment include GT750M and quad core i7 with 16 GB RAM) Given that I will be purchasing on a holiday to Hong Kong as well, the laptop will be £300 cheaper than English prices. -So money isn't as much of an issue.-I have to have a macWill I be able to run dayz standalone in boot camp at playable FPS and quality, and without worrying about heating issues? Many thanks in advance. The-MCV- 149 Posted July 9, 2014 On a similar build I get 20-30 in cities and 40-60 in forests. All on low/disabled, high textures.
SouthUS 37 Posted July 9, 2014 Hi!I'll buy a new PC with:Nvidia Geforce 780 Ghz Edition Windforce 3X 3GB DDR5 384-bit (From Gigabyte)Intel i5 4690 3.5ghz8GB RAM Monitor: Samsung S22B150 1980x1080 How much FPS I'll have with this specs at Ultra settings?
sm00tje 88 Posted July 9, 2014 Hard to say but even high end pcs with two graphic cards and better cpu have problems and fps drops running it on 'ultra settings'. Since the game doesn't allocate more than 4gb of ram (correct me if I'm wrong), 8gb should be more than enough. Still, you should be fine and the game should run quite nice. SouthUS 37 Posted July 9, 2014 Thank you! I think on HIGH I'll have 60+ FPS,right? I hope!
Poggle 26 Posted July 9, 2014 Your graphics are more than enough , the problem is the CPU. As far as I can tell there is not a CPU in existence that can maintain 60 fps in cities at this point, the game is just not well optimized and isn't multithreaded very well. I for one pretty much guarantee you will not get 60 fps in cities. Don't worry though, client side optomization will come eventually
Poggle 26 Posted July 9, 2014 Also the graphics settings have very little impact on framerate when you're CPU limited, because draw distances need to be universal for the most part to be fair
