I'm 95% certain in November release, if anything latest update from Rocket only confirmed the time frame. There is no rational argument for it not getting a 2013 release that I'm aware of, if anyone has one please share.

 

I agree, in fact Rocket stated that all the mechanics for alpha are in place, so it pretty much comes down to finetuning now.

 

Might be wrong about it though, not gonna jump on the conspiracy bandwagon.

 

 

What I am really afraid of at this point is the possibility of DayZ, season 2 of the Walking Dead Adventure and Project Zomboid, three games I am eagerly awaiting, releasing at pretty much the same time. This would leave me in some kind of predicament.

 

Well, nothing to do about it other than excessively stockpilling supplies at my home.

That and art can be democratic when it wants to, as can the creative process. And I'm not sure where people are saying that DayZ's creative process is democratic, Rocket and the developers have always had the final say... I don't think anyone would dispute that.

 

I'm also not sure where people are expressing their "entitlement". They sure are expressing a poor grasp of what constitutes a release date, but not much more than that sprinkled with a hefty dose of speculation.

yeah which also brings me to the next point, I'm hoping we can all be candid and level headed about this. The way some of the fans took this just instantly destroyed a good deal of reputation that it may have had in general. Though I've seen the DayZ community to be mature so I guess I shouldn't worry.

Back to the topic.

I'm just smiling to myself because it getting more and more exciting to hear how well and far along this pre-alpha is coming. Really want to get my hands on a video or at least a picture of the new Zed System :P

But Bohemia Interactive gets the profit, and Rocket just gets paid hourly--maybe THAT'S why he's been so slow?

Its kinda fun to actually just chill on the boards, while blasting metal here and check things out while waiting on progress updates. Little tidbits as ya go.

Yea, i no want to hype, but in june i say, the game is being released in few monts, i no want to hype, but in september i say the game is in last lap, i no want to hype but i really know if game is launchet tis year or not, But y really prefer you hype no askquing a date. IMHO everyone should be forced into 1st person. The possibility of switching creates too big of imbalance and 3rd person ruins the purpose of the game.

I, and I would make a bet many other people wouldn't play the game if first person were forced. Not a QQ, just a simple fact. I do not like 1st person, and choose not to play forced 1st person shooters. The simplest way to "fix" the meta gaming advantage of 'seeing' over walls/around corners is to force a LOS rendering. What I mean is this. If you are on one side of a wall, and I on the other, because there is no Line Of Sight from me to you, I would not see you over the wall. I could keep my third person perspective, and you are saved from my 'cheating' by 'seeing' you over the wall.

 Why does this team have to follow some kind of "transparency code" when others don't, and clearly doing so is detrimental overall because people on the internet are generally fucking stupid?

 

WHY ? Because that is what Dean said was going to happen. First it was he will be providing Weekly Dev Blogs then it went to Monthly , in the end only a total of around 5 ever got done. Without Smash T putting up these great threads most new info would be lost as its been sourced from Reddit or Twitter . Ever seen Dean create a Thread in the Forum ?

 

I'm not impatient for a release they can take as long as needed for my liking. But if you tell me something is going to happen i will hold you to it till i'm told otherwise, I see no difference in this case.
