His English is pretty broken in that post, too. 

 

The suggestion, which was to allow players to craft common items into melee weapons, has oft been repeated. That's hardly trolling. If it's the ultra specific example that irks you, I have to ask, why? It's really not that silly.

 

I personally hope there's a ridiculous amount of these makeshift weapons provided to us, so roving gangs of melee-users aren't all using the exact, same, weapon.

 

Furthermore, it'd reward quick-witted, knowledgeable survivors who find themselves in a dangerous situation with the right tools to give them even the slightest hope of a fighting chance. I've been held at gunpoint many, many times, and dragged around for miles and miles. My captors always tensed up at the sight of hatchets, crowbars and especially guns lying around, making extra sure I wasn't going to pick one up. They've certainly overlooked me swiping compasses, watches and maps from the ground. They'd hardly take notice of an extra sock.

Why not simply treating every items over a certain weight/hardness as a weapon? Any 2x4 is a valid weapon, so is a hefty piece of rebar.
