that isn't exactly true. CPU plays a big role in it. I used to have a core quad 9550 (2.8GHz) and a geforce 660 2GB with 8GB ram and it had trouble in towns and any area with a lot of activity in dayz. Now i have an i7 4970K (4.4Ghz) with a geforce gtx970 4GB and 8GB ram and i play on ultra settings at 1080p with 60+frames per second in even the busiest of areas. Before my gtx 970 came in from newegg i ran the 660 with my I7 and it was also running very well at max rez. conclusion Geforce 660 or higher with a i5 or i7 with 8Gb of DDR3 ram is more than enough. if you PC has integrated graphics (on board) you will have serious issues playing this game

if you want to taunt your victim or gloat over their body like some FPS: 1. dont shoot them 2. knock them out with a punch 3. handcuff them. 4. place bag over their head. 5. profit??? if you choose to have a shoot out, deal with the result that a bullet brings.

Results of killing (insanity, morality)
Bubbajones replied to threedogification's topic in Suggestions
May i see your clinical proof of this statement? Insanity is still a very subjective word. It is far from a black and white "you're insane". What IS insanity anyway? Scholars still debate it today. The only real definition we have is "When one deviates from the social norm or what society deems acceptable behavior" Guess what? When the moral safety-check that society imposes on us is removed through natural disaster, war, famine, and plague, morality also loses its grip on us and we do terrible things to each other. We cannot even begin to imagine what would happen to humanity if a dayz scenario actually happened, but i am 100% that it would be even worse than the game is now. When people are dehumanized killing them becomes a non-event. this has been repeatedly demonstrated in countless wars. Every Government/War Leader knows the first step in any military action/campaign is to dehumanize the enemy so that killing them is not like killing people. The genocides earth has witnessed both past AND present are made possible because the aggressors don't see the victims as human. Killing is not about insanity, its about personal perception/belief. That is NOT something you can model in a video game. So, to conclude... people do NOT "tend" to go insane when they kill others. -

Is there anything being planned that incentivizes not shooting on sight?
Bubbajones replied to alleycat's topic in General Discussion
everyone would cope with the situation differently. making everyone suffer from the same symptoms regardless of individuality is the wrong approach. you want to reduce the deathmatch? a lot more zombies.have zombies be really poor at hearing quiet characters at more than 10-20m, but have them go ape shit for gunfire up to 500mone serious bite = infection and deathmuch more crafting, bas ebuilding, vehicles and repair mechanics.add tradeskills that reset on death.then you will see people thinking twice about kos. the death match game only exists because people have nothing to do once geared up. -
Player Corpses Disappearing and Kill Msgs
Bubbajones replied to MrMerc's topic in General Discussion
if you guys looked at the dates of the Ops post it was before the fixes. there is a 30 second timer to log out now AND bodies and bodies aren't removed immediatelton disconnect. if it still happens, then it is a bug. -
We NEED some way to identify heros and bandits.
Bubbajones replied to 1S1K-Airborne's topic in General Discussion
Seems we created an entire generation of youngin's who want someone else to make decisions for them and remove their need to think for themselves. Forcing an appearance or behavior (other than what the player chooses) to satisfy your inability to cope with making decisions is NOT going to happen - no matter how many threads like this get started. you want a different game ===> the door. -
they are lore friendly... just not the lore you're thinking of. these are 28 days later, infected with mutated rabies. they are alive and need to feed. you want walking dead zombies which are undead - which isn't what the game's vision seeks to do. if you prefer the slow undead, ther eare other games that can cater to your needs. :)

So... I changed my computers name and I lost everything?
Bubbajones replied to raiderlove86's topic in New Player Discussion
FYI, if you continue playing with a new character while disconnected to the hive, when you reconnect. it will override your old character. -
So... I changed my computers name and I lost everything?
Bubbajones replied to raiderlove86's topic in New Player Discussion
...or you could just be temporarily disconnected from the main hive. when that happens the game creates a new character because it cant find your old one on the hive. this is the reason for most character losses. Dean has only wiped the hive Once (intentionally) that i know of. the solution, is to log out immediately and try again later to see if you have rejoined the hive. -

Got a Loot Farming Server shut down :D
Bubbajones replied to FeralSparky's topic in General Discussion
once there are private hives they can circle jerk all they want, as long as their server is part of the world hive, they have to be dealt with for everyone's sake. -
Unexpected attacked on PVE server (was funny)
Bubbajones replied to markdroppedthere's topic in General Discussion
PVE servers on public hives are against the EULA and can get shut down if reported. Don't think you are safe on one. -
your energy and your stomach are two separate values. even after you fill your stomach, you can still be at only half energy. as long as you don't stuff yourself, keep eating everything you find. as your stomach empties, keep filling it. the energy bar fill fill up and you can play for hours and hours without food if you're unlucky.
-
never keep food on you - eat everything you find. your energy bar is way way bigger than your inventory. just because the hunger warning isnt there, doesnt mean you have all the energy you can hold. it actually goes quite higher. so eat everything. there is no sense in keeping it in your pack for someone else to loot.
