As you other bandits out there know, we are frequently stereotyped as less intellegient, douchebags, or basement dwellers by non-bandits. To the point (in my case) where its just downright ridiculous. A lot of times when someone finds out me or someone else is a bandit, oncomes the namecalling and preaching about how we ruin the game. I won't go into a huge rant, I just wanted to know if anyone else is sick of this. >:(

Not all of us survivor/hero types think like that, i think stereotyping a group or brandishing every bandit with the same brush is stupid and is/has a negative effect on the game, for me it doesn't ruin the game it is an integral part of Day Z and surviving.

My only complaint about bandits or some is the lack of inventivness i wish bandits would do things a little different, see most i come across will just shoot on sight no matter what.

For you bandits out there do fun inventive /sick stuff to make it more enjoyable for yourselves and the victims, strange i know but here are some idea's'

1] kidnap and take said victim to cherno/elektro break his leg and leave him there with nothing(let the zeds do the killing)

2] as above but take victim to the middle of nowhere then break his leg leave him

3] Rob him of all his stuff, then make him do stupid stuff

4] Rob him then make him loot for you then kill him

5] force him to kill an other player/survivor on the promise you will let him go, then once he's done it kill him.

6] go on a man hunt pick a victim follow him where ever he goes, kill zeds near him. make him paranoid, then at a moment of choosing kill him.

i have many more idea's, sadly i never do them, i'm a non killer and have yet never killed anyone in 300+ hours, so Bandits get out there do sick/inventive stuff, instead of the boring stuff.

My dad watched me kill some carebears today and we laughed when they get angry. My dads frend tony said why they play if they are getting so furious all the time.

I agree tony, they are not normal to do something they not enjoying like I am enjoying dayz PvP.

Life is very quik. I know this. So if you get angry with game or bandits or cod kids then maybe try to play carebear classics like sims and leave us to have our fun online not hurting anybody in reel life.

I only made it to be a bit of a dick but in truth that is how many people see it.

I've got loads of mates that play DayZ and it's pretty much split down the middle in terms of who plays bandit/hero etc. For me it's just not black and white like that anyway. For example I used to play as a medic but if I was on the way to help someone I'd pretty much kill anyone that got in my way because I enjoy a good firefight and didn't want to die before I could help whoever I was on the way to helping. Tricky really.

I think most players are in the grey area in-between tbh.

Hey it works both ways. When I think of the people who namecall bandits. I think of newbies who have a distorted view of DayZ after watching too much frankie videos and playing dayz for a day to get killed a few times. Are they not childish, care-bear newbies?

I met so far 5 heros and every one was not like a hero as I understand heros to be in rl.

The one I killed at the hospital was maybe like a hero because he said 'nice' when I headshotted him with the Mak.

The other 4 cried like bitches so I called them bitches but I don't know if they understand because I am laugh at the same times.

My experience today on a Vanilla server (first time in 2 weeks that I have played something non-origins):

Basically I fired off a warning shot at him, and he got all bent out of shape. What proceeds is our short skint over Direct.

Guy running up to me (name: funymunky): "hey, hey, hey! Don't shoot, I'm friendly" As he comes running towards me with a makarov (LOL)

Me: "I don't care if you're friendly, I'm a bandit. Leave in 10 seconds and I will not kill you"

funykunky: "foock you ya' foockin twat" (nothing against people with a british accent, you guys are awesome, but this guy had a HEAVY accent)

Me: "Oh, be like that? Why don't you come over here and make it easy for me."

funymunky: "Oie, I'm not gonna come over there ya' foockin asshole"

Me: "Okay"

(Five AKM shots later)

funymunkys corpse: "ya foockin piece of shit wanker, I'm gonna foockin kill ya ya pi......."

I don't get it... I mean, KoS is one thing, but seriously... I usually just shoot people within 100m of me, no warnings. Why? Because, 100m is a distance where someone can easily kill you if they want to. I don't backstab, and never give anyone the chance to backstab me.

I kill anyone that has stuff I want/need. Why? Because in a real WROL/SHTF situation, this would be a very valid thing.

Is this what I would actually do in a WROL/SHTF situation? No. I would be protecting my family.

Then why do you do it? Because this is a video game and I play the style that I enjoy. Do you go off and play Skyrim and not cast any spells because you can't do magic IRL? FUCK NO! You release fire from the tips of your fingers on every groin that opposes you. Why? Because it is fun!

In my view, actual banditry is when you try to get as much loot as possible, by doing things like stalking a target until he has gathered enough loot, make some people your slaves and prisoners and people who do not kill unarmed players or players who pose no threat and have nothing worth anything for the bandit. In fact, killing these players that grant no benefit when killed, will set you back a little on the loot, because then you cannot encounter them again and loot them (Once they do have loot), or encounter other bandits who have previously looted them and then you can get that loot.

So yes, most of these "bandits" I have met are retards who snipe, but don't loot (Elektro Snipers and Cherno snipers are a good example of this, as well as some NWAF campers). Or just idiots who pepper me with bullets when they see me, even though I am unarmed.

Don't worry, I don't shoot new spawns. Vehicular manslaughter is my chosen method for dispatching new spawns. I only do it because I care.... about myself.

I generally play friendly and only shoot people who try to kill me but sometimes i just logon to a server to see if i can get a balotta / cherno / elektro spawn and try to have fun with some urban warfare. So I know how good the pvp in this game is.

But honestly, do we have to discuss why people dont like bandits? I know young people often cant understand it but as soon as you start a job you will not have endless amount of time to play video games. And in DayZ it can take hours to find all gear you want, specially when youre a lone wolf... and you really think people should not complain when they get shot after they spent their whole week gearing up but be happy that there are bandits to keep the game tense? Its just human nature that they complain.

I dont know how many discussions of people complaining about pvp this forum has already seen. And how many discussions of people complaining about people complaining about pvp.

Both sides have valid points, both sides will never be happy. So just accept and shut up. Both sides.

I don't stereotype Bandits for being Douchebags, Assholes, and Dumbshits. Really without Bandits not as many people would get enraged about getting killed and wanting to get revenge/get their stuff back, when that happens the game gets boring. And when people say like they shouldn't shoot on sight and try to talk and holdup people, if you have ever tried that in the game it normally ends in a bloodbath without even the other person responding to the Bandit. Honestly, I killed bandits with every chance I get but I normally end them with a message before I do.

Whenever I have sick loot and get killed by a bandit, I'll get a little irritated. But then I realize that this is just a game and that I would do the same in their shoes. I believe the ragers that get mad at anyone that kills them either fail to realize what I do, or rage to provide entertainment.

Its the hardship of FINALLY getting an elektro spawn, only to get shot in the face when I'm completely unarmed and I reason with them and keep my distance. Now, on the other hand, if an unarmed person stalks, follows, spies on me. I pull the trigger. Otherwise I just salute them on, until they get a gun that is.
