PK Richie 507 Posted May 26, 2013 On my PC and in my twisted mind it does. There's nothing wrong with being 43 and liking Lego and Computer Games (or so the voices tell me)Lego is a great product with an intresting history, It started with wood and hard work, watch the story below for the truth behind the company :)
terrvik 2409 Posted May 26, 2013 You made me go up to the attic and look for my lego boxes. Not sure if I like that or not.

Zarniwoop 1193 Posted May 26, 2013 I came to this thread because I thought it said "DayZ Logo Creations"...I then found out it was a place that orlok could show off his awesomesauce in...Nice work! :P You have now stirred the model maker inside of me. Seriously though I should make something DayZ'esque from my left over kits!

terrvik 2409 Posted May 26, 2013 (edited) Make them and post themI now *know* two of you have lego laying around. If you build it they will come...Oh yes, I have loads of it. The old kind as well, where you have geometric shapes of all kinds and not this new crap that builds itself. :)EDIT: If I find it all I will try to build something. Not sure I have that many diagonal red pieces though. Edited May 26, 2013 by Terrorviktor
OrLoK 16190 Posted May 26, 2013 Hello thereMy Lego philosophy is more biased towards pre 1980's ethos. But, new Lego *has* come on in leaps and bounds, it's knowing which sets to pick and choose from to get the decent parts. With my builds I want to use as many true bricks as possible, although some use of prefabs is inevitable. For example, If I were to include horses they'd be made of Lego parts rather than the newer "ready made" ponies, but one can be too luddite in one's attitude, so I'm going to embrace all things lego new and old, with a nod towards more traditional building techniques. Please to try and build. Dont forget The LDD program available from Lego's website is a great place to start with infinite pieces and keeps the mess at a minimum :). plus I'm happy to render up any models you make.RgdsLoK
terrvik 2409 Posted May 26, 2013 The mess and inevitable rage when you step on a piece is half the fun though. ;)
OrLoK 16190 Posted May 26, 2013 ahhh "Lego foot" I remember it well, not as bad as "plug foot" but still evil.

dallas 5195 Posted May 26, 2013 Ahhh, no. 375, a true classic.Best Christmas ever.Orlok I don't see why Rocket wouldn't hire you to pitch LegoZ to the Lego people, when the standalone is released. You'll see a good chunk of $$$ when the Lego people buys a DayZ license.

You'll see a good chunk of $$$ when the Lego people buys a DayZ license.A lovely idea, but I think I'm a little low on the food chain to even register in his plans for total domination. But, as I said I would like to put together some fun colourful mini dioramas representing DAYZ and use them as giveaways so keep ideas of what you as a collecter/gamer/fan/nerd/groovy person would want and in-between making large scale replicas of iconic DAYZ stuff I'll start to work on those.*no ponies*(not yet)RgdsLoK
toxicsludge 406 Posted May 26, 2013 You'll see a good chunk of $$$ when the Lego people buys a DayZ license.I dunno, there's something about a zombie apocalypse that may not be suited to Legos children-orientated target audience. Can't for the life of me think what it is though.Awesome models orlok. Just awesome.
OrLoK 16190 Posted May 26, 2013 http://lego.cuusoo.com/10000 votes. Easy peasy. For stuff like that probably a lego "expert" would be sourced, I doubt I'd be in the running for that. There's a lot of uber talented "legoleers" out there. I'm a happy amateur. (although a consultancy role would be nice :) )Anyhoo that's a pipedream lets see what we can do here first.RgdsLoK
terrvik 2409 Posted May 27, 2013 Hehe, the first rule of the internet: no matter how good you are at something, there's always someone else who is better.I have been playing around LDD for a while now, just trying to get a basic grasp of the UI and so on. How I did not know that this was a thing earlier is beyond me. So, thanks, I guess?
OrLoK 16190 Posted May 27, 2013 Hello thereI also had no idea. The best way to get started is to copy an existing plan. Try the castle above. This forces you into having to work on other folks plans and to hunt for parts rather than taking an easy route with ones own creation. Also, you'll have a groovy model in an hour or so all of your own :)I look forward to seeing your creations :)RgdsLoK

I've never really got into modelling, the nearest I got was as a 12 year old painting Space Marines but I always enjoy seeing what others do. If you could make a DayZ scene that would be truly epic (if not quite hard :/ ). Edited May 27, 2013 by Fraggle
