What's the most unrealistic thing you've ever survived?

GUYS- I'M TALKING ABOUT INJURIES. PLEASE DO NOT POST SOMETHING THAT DOESN'T HAVE TO DO WITH AN IN-GAME INJURY.

Alright guys, what is the most ridiculous and unrealistic injury you've ever survived in DayZ? If you write a story, keep it (somewhat) short. I don't want to hear about your 40 day character's life story.

Here's mine:

I had just joined a random private hive. Apparently, it was a custom server. I started with a golden revolver and a mag for it, and an axe.

I immediately went to the nearest town and started looting. There were a few bodies, but they had nothing useful except for a bandage.

That was about the time I started hearing footsteps. Not the slow steps that a zombie makes, but fast, like a human. I hid in building. It was definitely footsteps, just a little to the east.

I figured I'd go out and find whoever was causing it. As walked out, I maintained constant awareness in all directions. That's when I saw it: he was behind me. I tried to get to cover, but he had already come around the corner. I was exposed.

I tried to use voice chat and tell him to drop his gun, but I had forgotten to bind my voice chat key to T after I created a new profile in Arma 2. So now I was just pointing my gun at the guy. He fired.

He fired and hit me three times before I hit him once. But I was smart. I got a headshot and he went down. I bandaged. He shot me one time when he got back up, then I got a body shot and a headshot. He went down, then I spent the rest of my mag ending him. I bandaged and equipped my axe to kill the zombies the gunfight had aggroed.

Suddenly, his buddy came around the corner. He hit me once or twice (I can't remember which one), and I ran to the docks and locked myself in a building.

I heard him outside, trying to avoid zombies. Finally, I charged. He ran. He hit me once, but I hit him with my axe multiple times. He kept running.

Now I went full on madman (I literally yelled "come back here!!!!" over the mic). He was weak. Out of ammo. I was going to finish him.

He pulled out his axe and hit me once before he died. That caused me to bleed, and I only had about one thousand or two thousand blood left. Then the game glitched, and automatically hid his body. My only chance was to make it back to the other guy and get his bandage.

The zombies were to busy beating the unconscious guy to death, so I made it to the body and bandaged. Success.

So yeah, five to six revolver shots and a hatchet hit. I'm tough.

Three Satchel Charges

I was riding my bicycle along the road from Kamenka to Komarovo when a hacker laid three satchel charges out in a line on the road. I didn't see them in time to avoid them, and he blew them up at the same time--for some reason, it must have been my bike, I was protected. I didn't die from the blast, but instead I was launched into the air and was knocked out. Still survive, though.

Three Makarov mags to the chest from about 10 feet... then the guy's hatchet took me out.

My and my friend had a great idea back when the tents had to be manually saved, and duping was possible. (Yeah. We duped for shits and giggles! Hate us!)

He took a M4A2 Holo and took aim at my feet.

Shot. Broke my legs.

Fixed them with morphine and gave me a transfusion.

Shot. Broke again.

We repeated this for a good 30 times before I was like "Okay, just stop. Kill me, I feel so bad for my character that I just want to start off with a new one. I don't feel like running across half the map with legs that have been shattered multiple times on multiple locations on both legs. End his misery. For me."

Riding down a mountain on an antique bike with a full rucksack and no helmet at 90+km/h and running square into a pine tree at the bottom. Just peddled backward a little bit and was off.

I was on a private hive that started you off with a Winchester and food (forget if they gave a pistol) I spawned in either kamarovo or balota and ran to balota airfield, scouting around and i find a motorbike, one tire was broken but i could still ride/drive it so i hopped on and drove down the airfield to the hangers, hoping for a tire. All of a sudden I start hearing rapid fire gunshots and 'plink' noises hitting my dirtbike. So i hit shift and try to get away as fast as possible with the bike (around 12kph), I get to the hangers, jump off and run for the safety of one of the warehouses, I get shot at a bit and return fire (He had an AKS74u, I still just had the Winchester After a moment I ventured out of the hanger to try and get back to my bike. All this time I was showing my cousin the game to try and get him interested for standalone and he points the guy out, "THERE GET HIS ASS!" I see a bandit in a bush and fire as fast as I can into it, some how I survived the entire thing only needing bandaging (probably one of my only direct kills in DayZ). I died shortly after that by a separate bandit but still.

I was running from northeast airstrip to the town next to it (forgot the name) and a guy jumped out the grass literally a few metres infront of me, pointing an m4 at me, he opened fire and shot me 3-4 times, I had an mp5a5SD and I shot him once in the head and he passed out. I then threw my gun on the floor and got out my hatchet to finish him off. However when he d/c'd from the server he disconnecting too quickly and his body disspeared, so no m4 for me. Anyway my blood was seriously low and I had zombies on my while still bleeding. One hit me and I passed out. The blood meter showed empty so I thought I was done for, but somehow I managed another 30 seconds (ish) to wake up, eat cooked meat and bandage. I ran into the forest and got my brother to come over to me and give me a bloodbag.

My friend threw a can at me and I went into shock. It's okay though, I survived with only ringing ears for the next 15 seconds of Hell.

My group and I found a helicopter and were flying about looking for trouble one night when we spotted a blue van on the road heading west out of Solinchny. We thought it would be an easy kill...turns out the driver had an AS50 and while the helicopter was leveling out for the doorgunners he ejected from his van and fired five shots right at the side of the heli killing the left door gunner and severely damaging the helicopter. I took evasive action (I was the pilot) and managed to evade his shots but as I was trying to gain altitude I noticed that in the woods on the mountains surrounding the valley there were more players, three more all armed with .50s and m4's. they riddled the heli with 5.56 and AS50 rounds. I knew that we were not going to make it over the ridge and the helis engines gave out and we started to plummet at a very high speed. I, being the highly skilled pilot I was, directed the smoking (and burning) hulk of a helicopter towards a small clearing the the treeline, barely 50 meters across. Despite my best efforts to reduce speed I could not do much as all systems were non functional. I knew the only thing I could do was to try to land the helicopter on its belly and try not to hit allot of trees as I crashed into the ground. We hit the ground at 75 KPH and the helicopter exploded sending the remaining crew flying. I realised I was not dead but only unconcious and I quickly regaind conciousness and bandaged myself. 2 of the five people died on impact while the remaining 3 struggled to pull themselves up and away from the wreck. As everyone got to their feet we came under fire from further down the hill so we all ran as fast as we could up the rest of the hill. We all went prone at the top and waited for our attackers to come up to examine the wreck. When the three of them came up we opened fire killing two and knocking one unconcious. We made a quick getaway over the hill and survived another day.

Don't know how it was possible that any of us managed to survive (some had taken bullets during the airborne firefight) but we did.

I was flying for the first time in a server with hundreds of helis at NWAF so i thought i would have a go at flying a heli as all my other attempts failed when i legit found a heli and so i flew it up and i thought is was easy, then i realized my auto hover was on so i turned it off and it went out of control so i bailed out and landed on the top of the firestation like a boss, then i stood their for a few seconds gathering my thoughts on what just happened, then suddenly BOOOOM my heli that i bailed out of hit me and destroyed the NWAF firestation and i died well its not reallly surviving but still.

I went prone on a staircase, broke my leg, lost most of my blood, fainted an still survived. That was just ridiculous, I should have died instantly- stairs are dangerous yaknow!

I survived a helli crash. I was the pilot of the Little bird. My friend didn't make it...

It was impulsive, when the helicopter was about to hit the ground, I pressed eject. Then everything was confusing, I saw the explosion, but I was deaf, I couldn't hear anything, and almost couldn't see anything, but I bandaged myself, and survived.

Later, I found an animal and recover the blood, but still I couldn't hear anything(It was fixed once I connected the next time).

It was cool, I enjoyed it. And I have it recorded.

An Invisible hacker with an L85 thermal, killed the other two guys i was with and almost killed me, i got away with broken bones, rolled into cover, healed myself, every time i tried to get eyes on the guy i got shot at again, i knew he was invisible because i also had the same thermal weapon, guy was moving around but not showing on the scope.

Still don't know how i survived that.

Well there was the noob bandit with a M9, unloaded 5 mags into me before i told him:

Im a hero skin, sidearms do nothing to my body after which I killed him with a headshot.

His last words were:

"What is a hero skin?"

But I did once also eject from the first helicopter I ever found.

I find it, fly for a bit, get hit with a load of dmr rounds. Engine goes red. I plumet to the ground.

Eject at about 50ft and slam into the floor, broken and unconcious and can see the heli wreck next to me.

Im in a gilli and bleeding to death, 2 guys turn up and look around for about 5mins and dont see me.

I wake up after they have gone, and bandage up.

A bit later im killed by a zombie in one hit, shows how much blood i had left from the heli crash

Another time I had been flying a Helicopter and the tail blade got busted causing it to spin uncontrollably I managed to wrangle it into a safe landing about 4seconds before a server reset.

Me and a newly met acquaintance were looting a supermarket at Berezino. I was walking around the counter and the counter clipped my legs and broke them.

Having only a Winchester, and a few zombies shuffling around in the store while we were looting, I dispatched them while my friend went to get me some morphine. I started shooting more and more zombies as they filed in, one by one, more and more.

I had plenty of ammo, but I was glitched to where I couldn't move, so I really should have died, but when my friend got back after a little bit there was around 30 Zeds on the ground. He was utterly shocked

My story is from when I first started. I had played for about 2 weeks line wolf and then two of my friends got the game. So we were trying to meet up after everyone spawned in. This was their first time playing. Anyways we decided to meet north of Cherno in a field. So I get there first and notice a Heli in perfect condition. Me having never flown the chopper yet didn't want to die trying to land it so I just take watch and wait for my friends. There was 2 frag grenades in the Huey so I grabbed them and gave one to my friend when he gets there. He decides he wants to try the Heli out. He goes to take off but moves slightly to the left and hits a tree and the chopper blows up right in front of me throwing me like 30 meters back. I'm bleeding and unconscious with broken legs. He bandages me up but I can not walk. All of the sudden like 4 guys come running out of the woods. At this point in time I had never seen a hero. They had just reintroduced the skins so to be honest I thought the guy in the hero outfit was awesome plus I had never seen so many survivors together. So I talking in direct chat with the guys telling them what happened and that I needed help. We had no weapons just the 2 nades. I tell my friend to grab one out of my pack and try to blow up these guys while they fix me up. So there is 4-5 people standing around my broken body talking out the next course of action when my friend just runs up and throws a nade straight at the ground near my body. It goes off killing everyone but me somehow. I was bleeding again but I was able to loot some awesome supplies off of this group. I felt bad because I tend to play as a friendly but that moment and how everything went down, I had not really interacted with others in game yet, really made me a true fan of this game.

I was riding around in my tractor a bit east of Vybor on a dirt road, when someone flying a biplane tried to hit me. They were flying low, about seven or eight feet off the ground. Whilst I braced for impact, the plane hit my tractor. The plane went flying backwards, hit the ground, and went into flames. My tractor went from all yellow/green, to mostly yellow with an orange hull. I get out of the tractor, and my legs are broken. To say the least, I was baffled at what happened.

i was on top of electro hospital one time when a guy climbed up the latter behind me and started shooting at me. I turned and strafed off of the roof and landed on the street with broken legs but was still alive. Then i was lunch for some zombies. Not sure the height that you can fall and still live but i figured that was pretty unrealistic.

Just late last week I was running over the top of the mountain mid-way between Cherno and Elektro when all of a sudden I see a guy turn around and shoot me a few times with his M4A1 while I went prone and shot at him with my Lee Enfield. Just as I shot him he somehow manages to log and I somehow was still alive after taking multiple shots with an M4A1 at a close enough range to where aiming wasn't even necessary.

Just this past Friday (02/22/12) my buddy and I were heading out of Cherno after looting it and having to finish a guy in the supermarket when all of a sudden we both hear shots and a few zombies behind us started falling dead. At first we thought maybe someone was just trying to shoot the zombies to help us due to the fact we attracted what seemed like the whole town after getting into a gun fight at the supermarket. We were wrong. As I'm just hitting the wood line I suddenly get shot in the leg and loose a small amount of blood, yet surprisingly enough I wasn't bleeding nor did I have to bandage myself. At that point my buddy and I realized we were being attacked and we were making our way through the woods way from Cherno and towards our camp. I decided to fall back while my buddy kept heading towards the direction of our camp and I quickly looped around to see if that guy was following us. What do you know? I see him running just a bit farther in the woods and I began full on sprinting at him. I followed him for a good minute or so, extremely surprised he hadn't seen me then when he stopped I shot him a few times with my M16. Thinking I didn't kill him (thought he passed out as he hit the ground right away) I rushed towards him more, firing more and more shots. Long story short, got shot a few times while running loosing hardly any blood.

There have been a few instances where I was surprised to have even survived after being shot, other times have been falling and not dying where as I've died previously at a lower fall.
