I just dont understand the "unspoken rules" . . HELP !!

I am new to the game and watch alot of youtube videos before I start my first game. I pick my player name as Ricky Bobby and my first server is Venom IP 5.63.147.180:3255, the players there seem sketchy and are in a clan called VeNoM so I play by myself and keep to myself. I have not shot anyone, stolen anything or hacked. Then the Venom Clan tries hunt me down and kill me, and thats OK, but they cheat when a admin friend named [VeNoM]Wolf helps them find me so, I log out. I confront the Admin (wolf) and he bans me as a "WANKER" so I leave the the server and join a server that is not PvP - IP 173.192.70.135:3034. It goes well for 3 days, l have not shot a survior or stolen anything or hacked anything and I enjoy helping new people in the game. Then I get killed in a car by a satchel charge by a new player named Zombie Killer (Slayer) while trying to pick up an new spawn guy name Alex and the Server rules says you will be banned for this. When I see him still playing the next day, I make a complaint to the owner of the server [ PSI Z ] while i am in game, he says "I will look into it", fair enough. Ten minutes later while I am running in a field, a UAZ drops out of the sky and a type comes on the screen and says I have been caught " hacking " . I am then kicked by a "admin" saying I am a hacker. It seems there is alot of under handed things going on the Admin side. Is this just my bad luck or do I not know how the "real" dayz world works ? I do NOT hack, or steal, or kill, and I am not a "wanker". I love the game and play by the rules set by the server and DayZ but it does no good. I just dont get it . . . .

The first server was obviously a clan server, and.. It's not exactly advised to play on those servers, as the server admin/host tends to also be a part of the clan, thus helping the clan to give them an unbeatable advantage.

You sound too kind to be treated the way you say you've been treated, so my best advise to you is look up Balota Buddies here on the forums. Quite a few of the forum mods are also a part of the Balota Buddies servers, and I can say for a fact that you won't get this kind of abuse on their servers.

They use a whitelist system and have active admins, so hacking isn't very common on their servers. (I speak from experience.)

Probably the friendliest/most helpful community within the DayZ community I know.

Yeah, avoid clan servers like the plague, they're generally admined by prepubescent kiddies that can and will abuse their position to give them an advantage in game.

I would recommend Balota Buddies if you're looking for a server with fair admin too.

just need to find a decent server that you like and has a good community and fair admin, balota buddies is a good server. if you want to check out our server its in my signiture, decent group of players and very active fair admin

Stick to official hive. The offical DayZ hive. Or the big vilayer hives. The admins dont have the power to spawn vehicles or to get player locations on this big hives.

Only for private hives admins geht the special tools from the server hosters Like on on vert hosting, they have a tool where you can coustumize players gear.

They are some really fucked up admins out there on pvt hives.

Have to disagree the public hives are dead and overrun with hackers as long as you have a decent active admin on private you should be fine alternatively go to a whitelist

Sounds like your just unlucky at this point and have run into powertripers and cheaters.

Had a similar situation on another server, was 'mostly' friendly. Had no problems with the Admin or any players other than a couple of trolls that gave up when we didn't rage enough for them to get a hard on. Anyway Admin was usually on the ball with hackers and on only one occasion spawned in gear for a regular who's character got wiped for whatever reason (and only spawned in some of the gear he had). Anyway one day I log in, notice some buddies of mine were on, asked em what was up and they were going to give a friend of theirs something to eat and drink. I jump in my huey and head out to the airfield, land and start asking where hes at, all of a sudden he empties his AS50 into the engine and I run for cover. After my inital wtf and asking for help stage he kills me (even brags about it which got me pissed since I had made my intetions of helping him out known in side). So my buddies split up, one going to get me and the other going to grab my gear for me, which gets him killed. At this point Im in my friend's truck blind with rage, going about 90 on the roads wanting to run this prick down, along the way hes braging and boasting about stuff, and FUCKS up, "Yeah you guys want my AS50 TWS? Come and get me?" 'Isn't that a removed gun?' "Yeah but an Admin gave it to me and-" Asshole has been kicked by Admin. And I was thinking 'Right on man!' and said so to the admin who was watching via some program. Couple days later he adds another player to the admin pool and lays out the ground rules in side chat (im the only other one on) 'no spawning in stuff for people, dont teleport unless its to resolve something, download this and this, ect'. Next day the asshole tries to log in again, after a couple of tries he gets back on and Immideatly starts bitching up a storm and bragging 'YEAH BITCHES THOUGHT YOU COULD BAN ME!' and I figured he was bout to lose another CD Key. Turns on the new admin was a friend of his and unbanned him, when i bitched about it he basically said 'dont be butthurt dude, I talked to (Admin1) about it and he knows about the TWS, and (Asshole) Is allowed to keep it until he dies.

Durring this time I was flying another player around in a chopper I found, landed as fast as I could without breaking it, basically tossed him the keys and said Im out. Haven't been back since but might check back one of these days (Not gonna give names, if the Admin 'fixes' the problem whenever I return, don't want to have badmouthed them all this time, if they don't rather not advertise for them in any way)

Would say it's a case of 'trial and error' mate. If you hop around for a bit you'll find a decent server.

It's worth saying 'hi' when you first spawn as the replies you get will help guage whether the server survivor population is decent or full of 'wankers'.

Other than that, have a look in the private hive forum.

Oh Repo, mate, sorry to hear what's been happening. Looks like we're all recommending Balota Buddies (because it is a friendly place) but let me inject a word of objectivity: Check out the Private Hive Discussion Forum. That's where all the adverts for servers go, and there are lots of good places to play in there. Remember you can join all of them, you don't have to just join one!

Hey don't tar us all with the same brush. Whilst not exactly a clan the Fogeyz run and play on our own server. The only advantage we use is TS and good communication. While there will be abusers, as in all walks of life, some of us are proud to fight within the rules.

I used the word "tend" for a reason!

I know not all clans/groups are bad, and TS or other programs like that I don't really consider much of an advantage. It's more like a private Side-Chat.
