No Pepsi, Coca-Cola or Heinz in standalone

Recommended Posts

What about other, maybe smaller companies that would hope to gain popularity through advertising in the game ?

Maybe some Energy-Drink company that is not owned by one of the big ones ?

The same with the food.

I do not have an overview about these things, just guessing.

EDIT: ok, generic sounds good.

With that the curse of Mountain Dew is lifted.

Or the curse of Green Mountain Condensation is born.

Edit: Perspiration sounded gross as a drink.

Thats a real drag, man. The generic alternative is not nearly as cool.

I'm really surprised they didn't even reply. :|

I can understand them not really wanting to be associated with a game that may include cannibalism (even if in many cases Long-Pig would be an improvement on their product) - Baked Beings anyone?

I never played the Halo games, but these 2 companies don't seem to mind the association. I think DayZ will be a bigger game than Halo 4, yes/no?

Smash_AU just made a thread stating that Pepsi, Coca Cola, Mountain Dew, and Heinz Beans will not be found DayZ. Heinz being the most popular amongst the entire DayZ community we need to need to fight for our rights for Beanz.

To help with this issue, please visit the Heinz Beans Facebook Page and post why Heinz Beans should be included in the Stand Alone title. If Heinz sees how big DayZ fan base is, they'll realize it's a great opportunity!

Hello there

Their marketing depts are probably just not aware of the interest DAYZ is generating in the industry. If they have been advised then their Head of Marketing should have a kick up the backside, especially not bothering to reply.

I do hope (and am sure) that they targeted the heads/associates of the departments, not just the grunts.

Guys, big companies like this likely won't respond to a "non-mainstream" game developer, but they're more likely to respond to customer demand. If we want this to even be considered, we've gotta get lots of customers to ask for it. We're living in a wonderful time where these big companies are just a click away, but we've gotta make that first click.

Edit:

I don't use any form of social media, so the above options are not valid for me.

For those of us that don't, use these "Contact Us" pages:

Heinz

Coca-Cola

Pepsi

I really don't feel this deserves its own thread. The post in the thread you linked was enough.

DayZ should team up with some smaller food and beverage companies. Give them some needed publicity. PepsiCo seems to be doing just fine without video games offering them free advertising.

Marketing pro-tip:

Somebody has to convince FrankieOnPC to start asking "bambis" for groceries of a certain brand. If they have none, he shoots them.

Ruins (my) immersion when some small up and coming companies products are everywhere, with no coke & pepsi anywhere to be found.

Don't mind the brand as long as it's not Rola Cola, that stuff would make you die of thirst.

It was a Crosspost from Balota Buddies Forums.

This is an absolutely PERFECT opportunity for those in the community with decent skillz and creativity to create some creative commons based ideas for the team to consider. I see absolutely NO reason to try to continue to convince companies that are so rude as to not even respond to allow their products to be featured when there is so much creative commons potential out there.

Or the curse of Green Mountain Condensation is born.

Edit: Perspiration sounded gross as a drink.

If that name is not trademarked or used in another form of media then I feel it is a great idea!
