Why Day Z is "Fundamentally Flawed"

A large scale MMO with realistic physics and collision detection simply won't happen with today's tech. Rocket needs to learn the limitation of today's gaming tech and set realistic goals. That's it.

Pro Tip: Always check your six

This is hilarious. People need to lighten up.

In-game sound needs to be re-worked

It's not someone who drinks a soda somewhere very far from me. I know this because I've experienced this on empty servers.

In-game sound needs to be re-worked

Has anyone confirmed that they are bugs? I got the feel that they were intended.

In-game sound needs to be re-worked

I was referring to sounds like popping a soda when no1 is doing it, loud zombie growl when there are none around, etc.

Anyone use Shadowplay to record their dayz action?

I used to have problem with shadowplay and dayz working together, but the newest driver fixed the problem. Now shadowplay runs ever so smooth with dayz.

In-game sound needs to be re-worked

These random sounds (or mood setup sounds) should only belong to a SINGLE-PLAYER game. In an online simulation game like DayZ, people need to hear precise sound effects in order to gain situational awareness. And there should be door opening/closing sound. It's very important to the gameplay.

    DayZ not Worth a Buy

Overall, WarZ's engine is by no means better than Arma's engine, BUT, WarZ's controls do feel a lot smoother than DayZ. That's a fact. Yes, as horrible as a game/scam like WarZ, there are still several things they did right which DayZ can use some improvement on.

    THE END IS NIGHT?

In-game time should be shortened by a lot. PERIOD. 1. for people who play at the same time everyday in real life to experience different in-game time. 2. for people who can't play for a super extended period of time (like 10-20 hours straight) to experience the time change, weather change, etc. in the game.

Server hopper just ruined my day

It's alpha. Server performance will get better, and server capacity will hopefully/likely increase as well. You can't ignore such huge game design flaws by using server issues as an excuse.

Server hopper just ruined my day

I guess there is where you can learn a thing or two from RUST.

Server hopper just ruined my day

OK. The only sure fix for preventing server hop is : ONE SERVER ONE CHARACTER and KEEP YOUR CHARACTER IN SERVER AFTER YOU LOG OUT

    Why is time uncompressed?

Speaking from my experience and from everyone who's got a regular day time job. 1. I can only play at night except on weekends. So if every server is 1:1 local time, I will only be able to play night servers or I have to play in a server in a very different time zone which means huge latency. (There seemed to be a lot of daytime servers before latest patch, but since the patch, 99% of the servers went back to night time. 2. People would like to see time change in the game. In order to do that with 1:1 time scale, you have to play for at least 4-5 hours IF it is around down or dust when you started. Most of my play time spent in DayZ SA, it's either pitch black at night or full blown sun in the middle of the sky. I NEVER FEEL THE TIME CHANGE. Making time scale 1:1 with real life doesn't make the game more realistic. It only make the game more DULL. I wish Rocket can realize that.
  15. My guess is that they simply haven't gotten around to make the sound of the muffled sound yet. I mean even hitting a wall with your fists produces the same sound effect as a bullet hitting the wall.
