Smirl 13 Posted November 27, 2012 (edited) I think once DayZ releases its standalone it will explode in popularity.Number 1, its on Steam, the most popular provider for PC gamers. That is going to get the game more well known.Number 2, its much easier to play now. You don't have to have Arma 2 to play DayZand for 3, They will have more control over hackers, and it will be harder for them to ruin the people who want to have fun.I think the new added features will interest a lot of new players, like the added weather system. Personally, I have stopped playing DayZ until the standalone releases. I can't wait. What do you think will happen after release? Chiromishi 28 Posted November 27, 2012 I think it would be cool if we could purchase gear/weapons online and get to use them in-game too.If this game becomes a Pay-to-Win, I am going to go ballistic...
Derpy_Hooves (DayZ) 4521 Posted November 27, 2012 Pay to win, no point. Defeats the purpose of what DayZ is.
Smirl 13 Posted November 27, 2012 alright fine, maybe the idea was a bit bad. things like that should be kept for single player games.

The Khan 9 Posted November 27, 2012 But what will happen to the people who just want to hack. If they can't hack anymore that'll be sure to bring the DayZ population down a bit.

JackWalsh 29 Posted November 27, 2012 I see it like this. Hopefully in december we will see the final comming out. More or less the game with the features we have now, and perhaps a bit more. Hopefully without the scriptkiddies ruining everything. It's the basic, but the possibilities are huge. It's like a series of numbers. Add a number to a series of 4, and you suddenly have far more combinations. The same goes for this game. Add a feature to this game, like building your own base, weapons, etc. and the game will become far more interesting.Right now, once you have it all, it becomes boring to just survive. Because it's too easy. So, atm, I play on fun servers with extra vehicles, 24 daylight, lot's of players, and I don't really play to survive. Sometimes i know i gonna do suicide missions. I think I'm not alone with that playing style.Hopefully this will change with the final. Trying to survive as long as possible. Set a goal, and try to achieve it. ( like building a nice base and vehicles). But we will see. I just hope they keep the game authentic.
mzltv 2281 Posted November 27, 2012 If this game becomes a Pay-to-Win, I am going to go ballistic...Rocket has made it clear over and over in the various interview's he has been in that DayZ isn't about producing another game to profit on. There's a reason they've said they'll charge around the 15 euro rate for the standalone;
Draxx (DayZ) 61 Posted November 27, 2012 DayZ will be a success. A lot of ppl will whine about the fact, that you can die and lose everything. And I hope it wont develop into the direction of casual-easy-mode!And they will get rid of those pesty script kiddies :)I am trusting in Rocket and his dev team and I will be happy to support them with my money. I will buy the game for sure.
electroban 102 Posted November 27, 2012 I just hope there's a better resource economy on the map, I want to be forced to have to enter towns and cities in order to survive, not to troll. I want to be driven by survival not boredom.
Erizid 56 Posted November 27, 2012 You have all been judged and found wanting. Standalone end-game will be like a mythical creature. Like Unicorns or some shit. You might catch a glimpse of it through the trees, so you turn down your graphics so you can see through them. Then, as you approach silently to this mighty Unicorn, something horrible happens to you, like Cholera. Or you might buy a used car and then years later *BAM*, Herpes. pEar (DayZ) 26 Posted November 27, 2012 I believe it will grow even further in interest and amount of players. This is basically (HOPEFULLY) something that will fix the biggest problems that we've had around as well as giving the developers free hands and not being tied down to an engine that has it's certain limitations. Obviously there will be bugs, there will probably be a few hackers here and there, but not close to what we experience today. Also as far as I am aware, it will be running on the most advanced Arma II Engine that there is, so hopefully that will also solve a few issues here and there. Also it will be better optimized!!!!! Meaning more players that can run it :D:D:DCan't wait. I've upgraded my PC simply because I'd like to enjoy DayZ to the max.
Mr Nasty 1023 Posted November 27, 2012 The future of this game is so bright I have to wear sunglasses while playing it. B) B) B) B)As for point #2 in OP- Getting Arma2 was actually IMO a bonus to DayZ. Rather than Arma2 getting me into DayZ it worked vice versa. Im now very much looking forward to Arma3. Imagine it stayed the same as now, the map, the weapons, (okay not the scripters/hackers), no new features EXCEPT that the Zombie AI was now rewritten from the ground up as opposed to being modified soldier AI. They can now move at speed through buildings, they have good pathing and hit you on the move. This in itself changes everything. Going to rush through that barracks because you know you can get in and out without a care? That other survivor who MIGHT have gear, is it worth shooting at him and getting all the zeds coming to your location? That firefight with that other group, will we have enough ammo to take both them and zombie threat at the same time?Somthing as simple as that could, can, or would be a huge game changer, and its the one I am praying for the most.

ZTrainz 21 Posted November 27, 2012 Beans for Bricks. Just zombies hitting on the run would change the predominant looting tactics drastically.Hey OP, WarZ has pay to win... :P No beans for you! :emptycan: I'd give you a granola bar but then I'd have to shoot you for it from across the map with my railgun "sniper rifle."
