I spent hours fixing a car, loaded it up with steak (27 to be exact) and set for the coast to feed people. The third person I met lowered my gaurd, we jumped out, he stole my car. I'm not pissed off...just unhappy that my ambition to feed to hungry was so quickly thwarted...the gear is of no concern but I recall the existential dissapointment overtook me for a few frenzied moments as I gave hopeless chase to my dreams that were driving down the coast.

When 3 weeks of hoarding and building up an epic camp was ruined by a clan with a heli (that'll teach me for hoarding :( ). That was a long time ago, now day's I travel light and only take what I need.

After running 4 Km to the North East airfield (because one of my friends toll me he saw a motorbike there). Went I was near the airfield. I saw something in the middle of the runway. I was sure it was the motorbike but it the thing start to move... It was a cow....

4th server malfunction, lost everything I had 3 of those 4 times. The sting was made even worse when vehicles quit spawning. Server is now in its end of life, Nov. 30th it will fade into oblivion. (we now are making a custom rMod server, and have had most of the regulars transferred over. So it isn't a complete loss, but i'll miss my awesome old factory!) :)

My dreams have never been crushed in DayZ. I continue night in and night out crushing others dreams (I think). Like last night when I discovered a car park of 40 cars off the map on a cherno server. 2 SUVs geared, 2 Helicopters, 1 Ural full of guns. 40 cars on the road facing south 3 across in a row.

I looted a M107 out of an SUV and proceeded to shoot one of their clan members as he logged in which brought the rest of them. Their incomming hovering heli took a barrage of 50 cal shots which schooed them away so I could destroy the massing horde. I feel the need to have to cleanse this illness that some have of hording. I don't know why anyone keeps sachel charges in their nice carpark/camps b/c all that does is ruin everything for them in the end when I find it =)

I loved watching the smoke and flames.

I had found my second ever Mountain Dew on the first day alive on my character.

I protected that can of Mountain Dew for 6 days, only to be shot with a Lee Enfield in the NE airfield. (Chernarus)

The moment that crushed mine, was when I was trying to meet up with my group in Berizino. It was my first time playing, and I had an AKM. Ran about 6 kilometers, and when about 500 meters away, I see a white truck go into berezino, then I heard my friends screaming over TeamSpeak as they were slaughtered by the 3 guys with LMGs and Assault Rifles. Took potshots at the truck as it moved off, but to no avail. I then proceeded to jump off the office roof due to my depression. :(

Anyways, back to OP, the only real time I've had my dreams crushed was when I finally got my helichopper working and was kicked for ping being too high just as I took off because my brother was Steam updating on the same internet.

I cried myself to sleep that night as when I logged in, there was nothing left but the charred skeleton of what could have been my new best friend.

Went to NW airfield and scored a M4A1 CCO, G17, and DMR, all with plenty of ammo (I may or may not have found a camp up there). I was super excited since it was my first time getting high grade gear.

I gathered some cooked meat and filled my water bottles before logging out for the night. A couple days later I logged in and found myself in the debug area with no gear. :/

Well the other day I stole a bus from Berezino and decided to take it down the coast for a little Bang Bus actio-...I mean Party Va-... commuter assistance program.

Three passengers in and we spot an ATV on the docks at Cherno, we get out to check it's inventory and see if it's worth trying to right. Then some douche jumps in the bus and ditches us all. Who the hell steals a bus of all things for solo action over riding with a bunch of bros and having a laugh? That pissed me off.

Later I remembered that I had stolen the bus myself though...so...yeah..

The moment that crushed my dreams was the part I woke up and realised it wasnt real :( It was just a dream.

But in all seriousness, i guess it was (sort of, wasnt exactly crushing, but was the most disappointed Ive been with the game) when I made a camp and the tents disappeared with all my stuff in.

Wasn't that bad but after taking a death I decided to loot Cherno with my friend. Found plenty of food, alice pack, AKM and a M9. Nothing too special but I thought I may as well add it to the stockpile. Sprinted my way out and Zombie broke my leg and three ate me. Must have tasted nice.

I stopped playing DayZ in september I think.. it was 1.7.2.4 still. I logged out in the woods somewhere, with all my amazing equipment. I survived with this character for 3 weeks or so.

Well I started playing this monday again and I logged in, to my surprise I still had all my stuff. I was actually laughing cause I was so lucky, in the next second a hacker spawns infront of me and kills me with an AS50. That was the most frustrating moment in my DayZ time so far. Followed by some fun, I respawned on the coast, the hacker spawned aswell, but now I was prepared and I managed to dodge his bullets for good 15 minutes. It's funny when they can't aim :D

I had a good run on Namalsk. I had an alice pack, steaks, a can of mountain dew, pdw with lot of ammo and an M16 a couple of hours after spawning - my second ever spawn on this map and I didn't know the map at all. I stumbled across a compound, which I later found out was Object All, and explored eventually working my way onto the bunker... it was intense and nerve wracking for the first time and I didn't expect to make it back out alive.

When I got to the lowest level I found an M4A3 CCO and then a skin... I was just about to pick it up and then the Admin kicked me! My ping was low and I'd been on the server for some time so I was raging like a boss, but I thought I'd log back onto a different server to get my guy out of the bunker... It was night on this server which bizarrely made the bunker pitch black inside too so I had to use the torch on the M4 to navigate. The server I had joined had no other players on, I just wanted to get out of the bunker. Next thing I know, I've been shot in the back of the head... I checked and in the two minutes since spawning three other players had joined, one of which must also have been in the bunker! I should never have drank that can of mountain dew...

It was both, trying to give all Cherno snipers their own medicine and also meet my first friendly survivor. It starts off me finding an M24 from Stary Sobor tents. Also killed an armed bandit with a shotgun that tried to ambushed me.

After that, I ran off to Cherno, hoping to find some bandit targets. There was some sort of massacre going on at Cherno at the moment, since the rooftops were full of dead bodies. Then, I heard a lot of DMR shots and saw a guy in the fire station tower. I was 1000m away from there, took 2 shots and third one was a kill shot.

Then another (unarmed) bandit was on the fire station rooftop. He tried to escape, but when he started climbing the ladder, I got him as well.

I got a good idea, I knew the tower on the other hill east from Cherno, so I went up there to get a better view.

Then the most random moment starts from here. I climbed up in the tower and I meet another sniper up there.

My guess would be that he just logged in, since I didn't see him earlier.

I come up to the highest point and he starts climbing down. At this point, I could have shot him in the head and killed him, but instead I was stupid enough to ask him if he is friendly and wants to let me go.

He stops on the second highest spot and keeps on trying to shoot me and is completely silent. Originally, I didn't even want to live this longer with the guy I had because it started getting boring, so I said something I don't remember (possibly vulgar), then jumped down the tower to my death.
