    Hello Fellow Survivors, Awhile back I used to play dayz mod on 1000000 vehicles with friends from all around. For some reason I was banned. I logged on after an all night on the game and got this message: You were kicked from the game: (BattleEye Admin Ban [skynet] Scri 1860) I don't know what that means or what I did.     I posted under the dev. area about this vehicles hitting things invisible. To me it was a shadow in the road then you hit it.

    DayZ Mod Hotfix 1.8.4.1

    So my $.02 on the temp system (and the 1.8.4.1) - great! I've done a few hours (ie: ~8-15hours) of playing and keeping an eye on the temp situation on US434 and my server, Haunted DayZ, and it's been pretty solid. Yes, I have to pay attention to it (more than I used to) but on the whole I've only managed to get sick once, when I was specifically making sure I would. As part of my testing, I was sitting on a motorcycle, in the rain, at night, and my temp increased - so obviously you do gain heat in vehicles. :) While on 434, I did see something weird, where I was running around in the day, in the sun, and my temp was still dropping, but it only happened once, and I found a building and it climbed back up. If I see it again, I'll report it on GitHub. So, overall I think it's a great thing, and I would like to see it stay, I think it creates the right dynamic, in that if you want to go "survivalist" and avoid towns, you still have a "threat" to deal with (not counting the other players :)) Just to say it, thanks for all the work on 1.8.4(.1)!

    Any plans for 3PP immersion?

    DayZ is supposed to be a fairly realistic and immersive zombie apocalypse survival experience. It is not a player's choice to have DayZ as something else. You don't spawn with full gear. There ain't 500 vehicles. Cheats are not allowed. 3PP belongs to the category of things that simply do not belong to DayZ, regardless of what casuals say. Surely we understand the devs, money > else, as supposedly there would be a lot of dissatisfaction with 3PP removal from DayZ. Casuals make the majority, after all. I understand excuses such as clunky movement, camera position or motion sickness. Wanting to see one's character is a ridiculous excuse. Seeing yourself from behind does not add to realism and immersion, which is what the game seeks. Not even talking about corner peeking, which is essentially a legitimate cheat. As bad as it sounds, certain things should be enforced on people, restriction to 1PP being one of them. Otherwise why not add spaceships and other shit which casuals find fun, completely ruining the DayZ we know. No matter how you look at it, 3PP is a feature that does not fit DayZ regardless if people like to exploit it or not.

This server has been almost exactly what I've been searching for; hardcore survival, limited loot and vehicles, many craftable objects, building fortification and custom construction, dark nights, cold weather and very dangerous zombies. The only thing I don't like is that building construction is artificially limited in some towns. Fortifying an existing house is the best way to create a first base. With all the available crafting and construction it has more of a virtual world or MMO feel to it, rather than that of just a shooter. Unfortunately, my ping is a little high but it seems to be playing ok so far.

    How can a private server get a hive reset?

    Making a private server hive "reset" is no easy task. You would have to purge it of any and all records for players, vehicles and deployables. There is no, "Ooops, I pressed one wrong button and now it's all wiped out." Unless of course they did actually wipe the server and database install and do a whole clean install of everything.

    The temperature system is not making the game that much harder. If you're looking around in buildings for loot or getting into vehicles or running around the map you will have no trouble staying warm. If you're way out in the map in the wilderness setting up a camp it may make it a little harder, but nothing that a fire can't fix or going for a run to a town for more supplies. DayZ, after all, is a SURVIVAL game. Getting cold in in a city or in the wilderness is one of the biggest factors of survival in real life. Why not have it in a game about surviving??

    pawn Immunity

    Spawn immunity is a bad feature and usually only used as a crutch to work around bad spawn designs. It usually ends up with spawnkills simply working the other way around which makes gameplay even more frustrating - especially in a game like DayZ where freshspawns have nothing to lose but other players have. I would rather like the spawn system to be refined: Instead of a few discrete spawn points there should be a greater area you can spawn in. (We got this in spades.) Lower probability to spawn in areas with high player/structure* density. You won't spawn in a certain radius around other players or structures*. Higher probability of spawning in a place far away from your corpse. As a freshspawn** getting killed should give you a lower respawn time. As a freshspawn** getting killed by another player (does not include pressing respawn after getting knocked out unless below 500 blood) does not trigger 4. but rather keep your old place of death (basically a reroll on your initial respawn). Freshspawns should start at a lower power level: Clothes damaged/badly damaged. Chemlight instead of Flashlight+Battery. Maybe lower tier bottomwear (0-2 item slots). Remove the Vybor spawn. Move all spawns at the coast (and probably the far North Eastern areas that seem a little cut off right now).And in the end - if you end up killed right after spawning you did not actually lose anything. So its not really that much of an issue. *Structures means player-interacted objects like filled world containers, tents, bases, vehicles not in their original starting postion etc. Those should interact with all players in the same way (no dedicated owner) - avoids quick regearing or lucky scavenger spawns. **There might be a time after spawning (like 10 minutes) where you are considered "freshspawn" by the game. Certain events might make people lose their freshspawn status.

    Radios in Cars

    A repairable two-way radio may encourage folks to actually use the vehicles that they find, as opposed to hoarding and hiding them. Now that I think about it, it may be interesting to add electrical fuses to the game. A blown fuse could disable the headlights, or the windshield wipers, producing a greater likelihood of a crash at night, or in the rain, respectively. Also, a fuse would be required in order to get the radio to work.

    Radios in Cars

    What about using a radio in the V3S? What if there was a chance of there being a radio in the vehicle, and a chance if it works. If it does not work, maybe you would need to fix it (maybe with screwdriver, batteries, etc.)? This would give great role playing opportunities and allow some players to communicate with others easily while driving. Maybe these radios would be able to communicate with walkie-talkies. I don't know, I just think that this would be a really cool feature in the V3S, but maybe not all vehicles. Probably just big trucks and police cars (if added). not my idea, a friend's

    Status Report - 17 Feb 15

    I enjoy thrashing car rentals though and the way they scream in first is pleasure to my ears. Had to rent a car in Germany during the Ash Cloud Crisis in 2010 and i got to play on an Autobahn between Munich and Frankfurt....it was fun. But yes, manual vehicles in game is gonna be great.

    A new loot location, Rebel Caches

    This is an excellent idea and I fully support it and want to see it. Anything to drive people all over the map instead of the constant loot circle people do is good by me. Maybe later when more vehicles get introduced there could be rebel convoy crashes too.
  18. Greetings Survivors, As some of you may be aware, we've been experimenting a bit with the format and release day of the Status Reports coming into 2015. With upcoming changes to DayZ.com as a centralized point of information on the development of DayZ, the Status Reports will be released on Tuesdays from now on. Additionally, we'll be making an effort to make the Status Reports more visual, for those who do not have the time to read what is new in the world of DayZ development. Moving onto said development, you'll soon be seeing the spawning of a different variation on the V3S. This variant will allow for the transportation of larger groups of players. The spawn rate across the world will remain at fifteen vehicles for the time. Initially you will not be able to access the inventory of the vehicle, this will be supported shortly on stable branch. As well, finalized animations, and firing from passenger positions will be supported in later builds on stable branch. The initial intent of spawning vehicles supporting large groups of players is to gauge both the performance, and functionality of large player groups moving together at high speed across Chernarus. Any issues discovered should be reported to feedback.dayzgame.com whenever possible. In addition, Chernarus should soon also begin to see the roll out of the new animal A.I. system that briefly made an appearance in 0.53 experimental branch. Animal behaviors should be significantly more complex, and add a great deal to the immersion and feel of hunting for your next meal, or resource. Initially this will roll out with the deer, and then progressively expand to support the full list of animals residing in the world of DayZ. Lastly for me, we've been discussing the subject of blood regeneration, transfusion, and all the mechanics surrounding them for awhile. With blood regeneration at the rate it currently is, and the reduced amount of blood gained per blood bag, not many folks use or interact with these mechanics in the current stable build. Given that now is the time to experiment, and alter these mechanics to gauge viability through use on our steam branches we'll be reducing the blood regeneration rate, and increasing the amount of blood gained through proper blood transfusions. Personally I cannot wait to see how the survivors of Chernarus adapt to this change. Mr. Black0ut picked up his Hardcore DayZ Series again, you should all take a look. - Brian Hicks / Lead Producer Mirek / Lead Gameplay Programmer "I'd like to mention a few brief words about the new character/player controller. The physics part of this controller will be implemented using Bullet physics, so there will be a visible improvement in interactions between static and dynamic objects. e.g. there shouldn't any camera clipping issues, it will improve melee combat, movement on stairs, and it will be possible to get over dropped items and dead bodies. It will have also positive impact on performance. The animation side of this will be using Enfusion's new animation system and will allow us to have more animation layers on character, so it will be possible to play more animations at once. With this, we can achieve moving during shooting from the bow or adding injured animations. The character/player controller will be used for players and for AI units. We would like to introduce the physical part on character controller in 0.55 experimental. As for the animation part (which is already used for animals), there is a lot of work with exporting data to the new system and with complete rewriting of current system, but its in progress now and we hope, that we will introduce it in 0.56 (0.57 more likely) experimental build.." Peter / Lead Designer "While the new vital parts of the Enfusion engine and the game itself like the renderer, particle effects, UI, animation system, inventory, AI, controls/interactions, vehicles, scripting language, central economy and others are being still worked on by dedicated programmers - we are getting closer to the point where we cannot push the game further in the direction in which we want to with the existing legacy systems. That means as the new technology is merged into the main branch, better, advanced mechanics and enriched gameplay begin to be possible. We still need to wait to start using these systems, which will allow us to do more without hassle. However we can still push the current systems to their limits as we've prepared some prototypes of long planned features. I can mention at least some of them. Placing of objects which allows you to precisely visualize where the given object will be placed within the environment and if it's possible to place it there. This feature will be a great addition for base building in general, fireplaces, traps and similar objects and in the future we will maybe add this feature for placing every item as we understand it can enhance role playing and user generated content. Next we have a prototype ready for continuously usage of items which will be used in new controls/interactions, this means that you are continuously using item in hand by holding mouse button, when you release it use action is stopped. With the new animation system added to the mix it means that also eating and drinking during movement will be possible. The last prototype I would like to mention is the one which was done for the advanced crafting. It's flexible enough to be used as a field crafting and also table crafting. The point is that you need to put all your items from which you want to craft something new in front of you then equip right tool in your hand and directly interact with the item pool to produce the desired new crafted item. This solution is giving us few important possibilities like adding meaning to the plethora of tools we already have in game, crafting complex items without need of intermediate products which are most of the time useless. As well, turn some of the stationary tables with machinery in houses and industry structures to crafting tables where you will be able to produce crafted rails for scopes, modify weapons and do other advanced processes. Apart from that we started configuring the V3S with a cargo bed as we know you need to carry more passengers around Chernarus. Don't expect entering/exiting the cargo bed animations nor shooting from it yet. But if everything goes fine we will introduce a different vehicle feature for you to play with - the manual transmission, so you will be able to test your driving skills. Manual transmission is done in style of sequential changing of gears, this means that you can go from lets say 1st gear to 3rd gear only directly through the 2nd gear, there is no way to skip the 2nd gear altogether. We added the proper weight value to all items. Total weight that character is carrying around will be used later to modify his stamina value. We are getting prepared for use of the new central economy system which will be hopefully be plugged in at least partially. Now every item and structure have tags assigned to them, this categorization combined with minimum and maximum amount of items spawned in the server we finally can start to balance loot amount and its distribution over the map. Later area based distribution will be added to currently tested type distribution which means the same house can spawn different items depending on its location in the world. Crafting and usage of the fireplace is being polished to be more user friendly and straightforward. We decided to ditch the fireplace kit for now, improve the current functionality of it and add some new functionality too. Gas cooker is receiving some attention as well and cooking functionality of this too will be merged. Piece of lard and pile of bones are new items which are expanding resource gathering. As you can guess piece of lard can be used for cooking while pile of bones have wide range of use, we will start with arrows with bone tips. Modular plate carrier vest with attachable pouches and pistol holster is ready to go, same apply to FN Trombone which was waiting for proper reloading animations. Now we are configuring and preparing disposable suppressor crafted from PET bottle and we are looking at possibilities to damage firearms with bullets in bad condition.     A bolt-action .50 like the KSVK or AW-50 would be fine with me so long as they're super rare and hard to use. The only reason I really see any reason to have one is to give alternative uses for 12.7mm ammo if they ever decide to add HMGs like the M2 or DShK for vehicles, otherwise I think we should just stick with .308 and 7.62x54mmR snipers... there's plenty you can do with them, especially on a map like Chernarus. 10/20-round DMRs like the M14 and SVD, and bolt-actions like the M24 are more than enough for your sniper needs here.

What makes 7saints special? - We made Basebuilding 1.3 running on the newest version of DayZ (currently 1.8.4.1) ( As far as we know, we are the only ones which made it work on original DayZ Mod since version 183) example vid for BB 1.3 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVLgqrJzDnA (in an old version) - Frequently administrated server - 7s services will stay free. No donation system. Ever. History of 7saints: All founders of 7saints were influenced by seaweeds zerosurvival server. All loved the basebuilding, the server politics and the community and gameplay there. After seaweeds closing, we were looking for a server which closes the hole he left. We couldn´t find one single server that fitted to our needs. So we decided to start our own buisness. All founders love DayZ and nearly can´t play any other game. Dedication and passion made us bringing up the whole 7saints idea. 7saints are established in januaray 2015, so we are a brand new community. But we already made it to gametracker rank 150 and now begin to battle with epoch servers. Thats why i opened this thread, we need your assistance! What are the server politics? 7saints will host a slightly customized vanilla like server. We want to improve the game as much as we can, without breaking the main idea of DayZ.     ops lol dam cel phone, I men't taking out. :lol: Regardless though, the barett I don't think currently has a place in the stand alone. Maybe later on, not now though. We will see. Were are we going with this game? I kind of wonder sometimes. I understand the desire to have the high military weapons in game. Lets face it for many of us this isn't our 1st game that we played from this company. Many of us also played ARMA series and even OFP. Many are players who like 1pp 3pp multi player shooters. They kind have that COD, counter strike mind set. Lets gear up tp pvp. We know this from just playing, most groups and many players pvp is there end game, basicly they just gear up to pvp, and die.....with no score board...just for kicks. About 1 hour to maybe 3 day life cycle give or take. DayZ, is considered and meant to be a survival game were pvp is all tied in to the survival. At least that was the impression I got. There other players like me that would prefer it focus on post apoc survival were pvp all part of it, its something you have to do out of survival, not nec for a score or pride. IF that is indeed the case, maybe it should be focused less on high end military fire power, more on survival type stuff, were if your lucky maybe you can get your hands on some military gear. Were you are more worried about just making it through and keeping your avatar and your friends alive then looting all the crash site for hours to get that decked out m4 and high end gear....just to lose it. For me when I started thinking of it as a more of a survival game, were my primary focus is self preservation and group preservation, not instant grad pvp, I tended to live much much longer. I think there almost 2 schools of thought, on what dayz is all about. Or maybe its just pure gameplay freedom. Speaking for my self, I have ARMA 2, I have other combat related games that if I have the feeling I want to see pvp or pve combat, I play em. DayZ I always thought of not in the same catagory, its different. The way I look at it, dayz just barely even has vehicles, only vary vary crude 1st baby steps toward base building. Persistants kind of works. This weekend I tested it out, its still vary wishy washy right now. I am sure everyone else who messed with it saw the same. I sometimes get nervous just placing something on the ground, let alone leaving it there for a server restart lol. Were a long way from any kind of bases or serous barricades, that a gun like a barrett would be well suited for. Stuff like breaching or blowing holes through walls. We dont even really know what base building is really even going to be yet. Really all the finished features the devs just gave us a ruff hint of it is going to be like. So I say maybe its best to wait and see on this one, maybe it will have a place maybe not.

    A 50 cal sniper rifle......well in DayZ there would be no real benefit currently other then getting a 100% chance of killing with one shot. The game Im pretty sure does not have mechanics in place to say blow a hole through a wall, or destroy say a engine block, and there no light armor in game either. Maybe later on they could add a really high caliber sniper rifle either nato or warsaw or both to the game if there ever those types of mechanics added. Lets talk about some real world stuff here. The barret is dam near a crew serve weapon system (meaning a crew to operate) its right on the boarder line of that. Meaning there not something at all ideal to be running around with. When I was in the service I saw them in use in combat training exercises. There huge massive guns, vary loud. Def something that has to be fire prone. The military uses them not just for killing, its a breaching weapon and can destroy light armored vehicles. Not really something that ideal for talking out troops in the open if you will. They def are prepose built. I know I know naval seals the movie, and what ever movie you saw some guy was ramboing/ Or what ever other video game they were in lol Its not at all the reality. I mean if they put one and game realisticly and it had all the real world pros and cons, I prob would prefer to carry something more like the SVD, mosin or a .308. Your going to be lugging around a massive gun you cannot not run and shot with, you cant move that fast with it. The ammo would take up a large amount of your slots. Maybe later on, when the game is closer to complete maybe then revisit the idea, right now I just dont think it would be a good fit for this game. Lets face it theres no real defencive positions yet other then just trying to hold an area, theres only one fairly crude vehicle.. DayZ right now as far as combat goes is a fast moving battlefield on foot pretty much. I mean even if I camp something, I will get up and leave to a new area the minute I open fire and all the shooting stops.

    But that again wont stop ppl from creating vehicles that will require these types of guns. I know about half of you will stay away from those versions of the game at that point but it will draw others to it regardless. Half of us are hungry for more natural elements and half of us are hungry for more military tech while the others remaining % just wants both and to do whatever the hell we want with them. Survival means different things to different ppl. Having extremely powerful weapons will not take away from certain ppls survival experience it will only enhance it especially when the weight system and stamina get put in. Its like "Do i want this extremely powerful pvp weapon to do good damage with and possible die by alerting every single infected and player to my area?" Or "Do i leave this weapon behind for a more practical gun that allows me to still carry a backpack, food and other extra supply goods I need?" In fact i think there needs to be MORE useless normal items in game that you cant do ANYTHING with and have to scour houses, buildings, ect just to find useful equipment in. Finding nothing but useful items in every home seems a tad unrealistic in itself. So really finding any kind of gun should be like a Holy Grail moment in this kind of survival situation as ppl have mentioned before. That way ppl are not getting upset that there is to many anti-material rifles, bazookas, etc lying around in every single place.

    I don't know you tell me. All from Ukraine . People need to take a step back and think about this for a second. Yes 50 cals are cool I guess but why add them ? 50 cal sniper rifles would add nothing to the game that cannot be done already, this is not arma we wont have to shoot at armored vehicles from 2000m , we wont have to destroy radar antennas from long range etc. Dayz is not a war game and something as outlandish and improbable as a semi automatic 50 cal would make zero sense in any kind of survival situation. *Yes im a starving hungry survivor who is poorly nourished let me carry around this 30 pound rifle plus all the other heavy essentials that I need to survive*

[+]Installed some themes that still need some editing. DayZ Servers: [1/23-25/2015] [=]Worked a bunch on researching the vehicles reverting bug. [+]Made sure both dayz servers can restart at the same time without anything timing out. [+]Added MySQL events for both dayz servers that will clean up the database. [2/2-4/2015] [+]Fixed the vehicles reverting bug with single currency and tested it seems to be working fine after testing quite alot (with major help and thanks to bitc.. i mean lab rat @Yuffiek133 for helping test this shit probably way out of his convince). [2/13-15/2015] [+]Changed SetEvacChopper.sqf in the JAEM heli evac mod to use single currency (tested every aspect of its still working fine). [+]Changed all the vehicle service point files too use single currency (works great). [+]Changed all the vehicle paint files to use single currency (works just fine tested by me and Maverick 3z). [+]Added addon that lists the name of people who create markers on the map so we can stop the spamming etc (if you want a private marker that other people except the ones around you cant see put your chat channel to direct or group). [+]Edited DZMSAISpwan in DZMS to have a random amount of coins (between 0K-16K coins) on ai MONEY MONEY. [+]Edited ai_setup_loadup.sqf in DZAI to have a random amount of coins (between 0K-12K coins) on ai MONEY (working well). [+]Added a awesome HUD for info like coins humanity etc basically a nicer debug. [+]Changed elevators to be able to go up or down 500M for tall bases/buildings etc. [+]Cleaned up the smoke weed everyday sound. [=]Added a funtion to admin spectate to view mario coin balance (this was reverted since the new ah update was brokem). [=]Updated infistar anti-hack & secured it by enabling some checks etc (the update was broken reverted to old version and is working looking into this problem). This upcoming week I will be working alot on getting a bunch of stuff around here done even if im the only one doing the stuff n thangs!
