Have you all experienced the awesomeness that is L85A2 AWS Yet?

yeah, primary weapon in my inventory, though its scope is its power and weakness, you can pick out targets yes but at 300m+ you can barely hit them, any closer and it renders the sight useless... great weapon to go along side a sniper, or a perfect spotters weapon in a sniper fireteam.

Funny thing though, it also presents itself as an assault rifle, with it's automatic fire. I found it one time, and I just loved the use of the thermal. Helped me a bunch in night situations :) .

yeah this is true, though it's single Semi Auto fire mode is by far the most deadly... and i forgot about the NV feature... i mean i got goggles for that lol

I hope in the stand alone dayz you can take the scope off and put it on something better.

Great gun. I don't use it anymore, though. I use my map hack awesomeness to locate people when I need to.

Just kidding, I think I might start using it again. After all, the L85s are just sitting in the truck.

With the tech used, I find it to be invaluable to any new player. However, it still has it's flaw of the scope being only thermal and NV. It's not the best use of long distance sniping either. It is best use in medium range encounters and close range.

I would happily have a SUSAT scope on it... just like what i was given.. then my happiness would be complete. Used it in ARMA 2 and it's just soooo nice!

My favorite primary that's for sure, I also recently found a AS50 TWS in a tent but it doesn't do much more than collect dust in my backpack since I don't snipe people, have only really used it to see what gear people had from a distance, the L85 is too beautiful.

Yeah the L85 is awesome. I found mine nearly 2 weeks ago, haven't used anything else. It's also saved me several times. I don't cross a field or enter a town without using the thermal scope to check out the surroundings and see if there are any other people waiting to pick me off.

The other day at NWAF, I had two bandits shooting at me and my friend from behind some trees. I turned the thermal scope on and they stood out like a sore thumb. Two headshots took them both out. I am very much enjoying the awesomeness that is the L85A2 AWS.

I got super lucky and found one at one of my first helicopter crash sites. I love it. It's the only gun I've ever killed someone with. It was reliable then so I don't know why people say it's only good for its scope. 3 quick shots did it for me.

P.S. It's the only murder I've ever committed and it was self-defense.

Had one and lost it due to a hacked m240 that i found. lost my whole backpack because of it...bloody hacktards.

Found a new one the other day though. Happy times.

Although rabbits scare the fuck out of me now...

EDIT: And of course I say that and then right away lose it because of a fuckin hacker...well, at least I killed him, twice...

i primarily use M14 + DMR, but i can't help but stuff this bastard in my backpack just for that spotting scope. the magnification is little too much for close encounters and i play on servers without crosshairs so i can't shoot from the hip.

Its Not the only weapon with thermo vision. AS50 also has thermo.
