fuzzy4ever 22 Posted September 19, 2012 (edited) Guaranteed there's a hacker in every high pop server. My last 1.5 hours went like this:Log onto server with just 20 people - Fresh spawn. Pick up an enfield in elektro and start looking for more stuff. Heard some firing so laid down to figure out where they came from. Bandit spotted, shot 'em with an enfield. Run to his body, MK48. Pick it up, he teleports to me and uses a kill command on me.Switch servers. New server, 15 people - Fresh spawn at quarry. Run up north a little and see an ATV. Picked up a jerry can, wheel, and engine part for it (I was really lucky here.. should've known the "luck" would've rolled the other way soon). I drove around and came across helicopter crash with 2 FALs and a SAW. Once I started to drive away, hacker teleported to me repeatedly trying to kill me. His aim was fucking hilariously bad, but since he had unlimited ammo he eventually won. Took my ATV and left me to die (unconsciousness is so much fun...)tl;dr? - If you want to have any sort of remote fun with this mod, you can't play with more then 10 people on the server. Otherwise, hackers waste your time. Edited September 19, 2012 by Mozzy4Ever
PhilB 230 Posted September 19, 2012 Best advice right here: Find a private hive with a high pop. Why? Because a high pop in this instance means really dedicated server admins. It means a small community of dedicated players trust that server to be at least more safe.My most unorthodox advice is actually to stay away from low pop servers. I've found that those are in fact more hacker ridden because it is a quiet place for scripters to practice their scripting. Plus, the scripters know you are in a low pop for no other reason than to avoid them, so they know it is doubly infuriating when they fuck your shit up.And yes, I think I'm the most hacked player of all time in DayZ. I seen it all!

Kar98 27 Posted September 19, 2012 Even low pop servers have them. I remember being on a 10 person server and I had some guy drive towards me in a ATV, I put 20shots into him, he disappears shoots my 2 mates then me 5mins alter :/

Dayzo 182 Posted September 19, 2012 Are these private hives that everyone is talking about free? How do you find a private hive? How do you sign up to it? How do they filter out hackers from their sign-up process? Thanks.
GoodGrief 21 Posted September 19, 2012 To those saying try low pop server.. Yesterday I had been playing a short game before falling from a rock and breaking my leg on death mountain. i joined an empty server set to night and it was pitch black in there. so i crawled the whole way through the trees to elektro. i am still quite some distance away when i got bored, hit ALT, and had a look side to side and there's a fucking gillie creeping behind me.. for how long? maybe 10 minutes. he killed me then.tho the tree line between death mountain and elektro is a relatively busy place, it shouldnt be on a server with 2/50, in the pitch black
Michaelvoodoo25 3120 Posted September 19, 2012 Private hives are all over the place, just open up your server finder and put private in the filter box!!On a side note I was Hacked yesterday also (Reported it too) The player spawned a gear box into the game and then shot me as I would not take anything from it. This was only the 3rd time i was affected by a scripter / HackerThe psychology of these individuals astounds me. I mean how stupid and thick do you have to be to hack something in game in front of you when nametags are on? What I would like to know is with the info (Name, Date, Time, Location) what can admins actually do about these incidents? I believe it was an official Hive too, the first time I believe I have played on one in perhaps months.Aww well It was a great time arming up again,

Angel Knight 427 Posted September 19, 2012 Play on a private hive with decent anti cheat measures.I just played on a private hive advertising custom anti hacks and admins etc.Got teleported into the ocean after about 20 minutes. I lost both my chemlights AND my hatchet, I shall forever feel a part of my soul missing. But no, seriously, I have had no luck whatsoever with private hives (Have tried about 10 or so). The hacking is just as rampant, and the admin abuse is even worse there.
fuzzy4ever 22 Posted September 19, 2012 Gotta gree with Angel. All of the privates I've come across, the admins either hacked themselves, or were flamboyant assholes (Restarting server 'cause of lost vehicles, shutting down server since they were going to bed.. etc)

How do they filter out hackers from their sign-up process?Thanks.http://dayzmod.com/f...n-come-join-us/Email us your IN GAME NAME and we will email you back a password to join the server (we also have a whitelist functioning now as well). Admins are usually on from around 10am PST/ 6pm GMT till late and we back up the d/base every 20 minutes. We've removed the Ural and the Huey's from the game and may ban the use of the thermal scope as well (and yes we can tell exactly what gear u have or you have in ur tents, etc and no, we don't go looking at people till we start getting reports of cheating or suspect it ourselves and yes, every server admin is doing this as well).Filtering out hackers u can't do but they will get reported to BE and can have their CD key banned if we get evidence in the logs. Failing that, enough circumstantial evidence will get u a ban simply because we aren't going to take the risk. Edited September 19, 2012 by Jex =TE=
Dayzo 182 Posted September 19, 2012 Thanks for the invite! Unfortunately I'm European and my ping is generally too high to play on US servers.
