It goes inside your backpack and takes up 5 slots.

Nah you have to wear it instead of your backpack.

That way you'll have to pick what your taking with you more carefully. Make crews have to think about extraction as well.

Damn maybe even make a chute for your back so your pilot can drop in support too.

Even if the devs implement that tother guys chestpack idea.. All round balance for the well prepared group.

What if it split your pack section in half and only allowed you to carry a very small pack in addition, something like the Czech vest pouch? Then you'd have a small amount of additional storage, but still something.

I really like the idea of just having the plane in the mod though, even if parajumping isn't implemented for the while. A small fixed wing aircraft like this one would be a great addition.

Also. Spawn locations would be the 3 airfields only in the middle of the runway. Super risky to repair :>

Seriously. This would give me a reason to hang with one of my mates again. He's not that great of a DayZ player, but when it comes to flying, he's a helluva pilot. All that aside, though, cruising around in a fucking biplane would be awesome.

the plane should be at random farms, this would be more realistic. the airfields are already a danger zone filled with rare guns etc so it would be really shit if it spawns in military controlled areas with other rare items. lets not make all the good shit spawn in the airfields!

sounds like someone wants to make having a parichute easy by being able to put it in his bag so he dont loose his other shit. i say tuff there is nothing stopping you from putting your backpack into the gear of the plane. you either have a parichute or a backpack. this would be just like choosing between a hatchet and your primary weapon. although i do think you could have space in the parichute maybe as much as a czech vest pouch (so you carebares that want a backpack and a parichute still have an option to have a few storage slots) because where there is a reward or benifit in dayz should definatly have a down-side to it. also this way this would actually be more realistic because have you actually seen the size of a parichute when it is in a backpack, there wont be any space left to store anything in with it. so having a few slots maybe as a side pocket or two would be a soloution? or none, because IRL if you put anything in a parichute backpack this could potentually stop the paricute from deploying properly or damage the silk/nilon parichute altogether. (maybe have two differant types of parichute, a nilon one being the more common as this is more modern, but have silk as the rare version, and obviously being the best, maybe having more storage space inside, or having 2 parichutes inside before you need to reload it but with no storage space)

parichutes should be reusable but once you have used it you will need to stop somewhere and reload the parichute (unsure if you will have to do this imediatly after landing, up to rocket i guess). this should take at least 1-2 minuates to reload it, IRL to reassembe a parichute would take a long time because checks need to be made, one wrong fold will cost lives. not making them like BF where you can deploy as many as you want without reloading it back into the bag.

parichutes should automaticly open after falling for 10 meters? or have an asigned key to deploy the parichute?

ie even when you are on the ground, your parichute will deploy if the key is pressed. if you press the asigned key and it deploys while on the ground, it is tuff shit, gotta reload it again. dayz does not reward mistakes so i think the asigned key would be cool and sometimes a piss take for pressing the wrong button :)

I think the whole parachute thing is dealt with in the mod already. I found this video of some dudes goofing around in a chopper. They found a guy on a roof and rescued him. At some point in mid air the rescued dude decides to hop out. At first they think he is dead, but if you look closely you can see a parachute going down.

Its probably better to just have the standard arma2 approach, which as far as I know is that you auto deploy your chute if you hop out of an aerial vehicle while in flight.

Bumping epic idea. Fits the setting and the tech, while being far from overpowered.

The hitpoint/engine thing is not much of a problem. Boats work that way and they are already in the mod.

The only thing this would require is a nerf of off-map camps, or they would make out-of-map hoarders' life too easy.

Yup I'd rather they make it impossible to set up camps off map. That and a reduced vehicle longevity for vehicles off map, say 1 day of inactivity and it goes poof ( instead of the regular 7 day)

I'll try and get a video up showing some field landings/takeoff for illustration.

Yeah the AN 2 would be cool, because not everyone would want to use it due to the fact they can't land anywhere, which means if they are going to have to put their camp in a big open area if they want to keep it near by.

Then it would just be stupid, and used like the Huey. But less effective.

An-2 should remain a epic unarmed plan where you land in the middle of fields and pray someone doesnt steal it.

Check it out bros, totally awesome gameplay. Nice sideslipping, by the way. Just need to work on 3-point landings.

Because "hiding" a giant biplane when everyone in 10km can see you in the sky, I bet some epic wars are gonna be fought over these things.

What the hell does that even do? I turn it on expected it to set for some kind of 3 degree glideslope, but my plane was just violently dived and pulled left, so I turned it off. Does it just land you on the closest airstrip or something?

Yes, it does just that. Also it takes away a demand for decent pilots, because landing is the only thing with this plane that is somewhat difficult.
