Why is there so many pussy's on DayZ

Recommended Posts

I think if people are getting so worried and emotional about they need to gain some life experience. If you're (not saying you do) starting to feel bad outside of the game for killing someone you need to go out to the real world and see real things with your own lives outside of the computer screen. There is more exciting and scary things in the world than DayZ and more things to take up your guilt than DayZ.. it's a game and some people take it as seriously as the real thing.

You're right, there are far scarier things in the real world. I've witnessed some of those things. I've experienced terror and horror, and maybe that helps me to relate? I have a life outside of the game-- it's prosperous and full of rainbow eating, butterfly shitting unicorns at the moment. Guilt, and other emotions ebb and flow, be they in game or in real life. I take this game as seriously as real life (well, almost as seriously) because that's how I play. I'm glad you can play this game for mere entertainment, just realize that I too play for entertainment. For an escape. Having genuine emotions for a game that tries to simulate real life, I feel, is a non issue.

And yes, this topic has consumed all my beans :( Better go over to the survivor forums and rustle me up some more....

That's just how it is. I just respect every point of view. It's a video game, i take it perhaps a little more serious than others, but i do not lose sleep over it. (going over the dictionary to try to write something)

I don't believe DayZ is a role playing game is it? Did i say at any point I go on mindless rampages? No all I said was people who have EXTREME emotions over the game need to see the outside world.

I'm sure they have seen the outside world. This is probably why they are playing DayZ.

Why would that be the reason they play DayZ

I find this thread a complete load of bull.... No offense to those of you who feel that this "game" is an extension of yourself in the virtual world is kind of misplaced. If you have played any other FPS you have killed a cpu or other players with no remorse and yet it is a game and senseless violence. No one complains about killing in other games because, "that game's whole point is to kill to win". To a certain degree, that is true on this game as well and you can succeed in this game either by killing others, or helping each other live.

People who get mad about losing their stuff when they die is just pathetic. I understand if you die from some in game bug or glitch, I would say you have a right to be upset. However, when another player kills you, it is your fault for being at that location at that time even though you didn't know the killer was at that exact location. Example being at the military locations that are hotspots for bandits and what not.

Still, people who do prey on freshly spawned players are ruining the game for them and getting little or nothing out of it and I find that just a waste of the killers time. I see people who play like this as assholes who care for nothing but their own personal amusement.

Whether or not the game has been intended for you to be immersed in it, the whole outcome of the game revolves around your personal play style. Those who feel it is unfair have a right to and I do agree with that.

I am sure this thread would not be here if a lot more people preferred to help each other rather than kill on sight.

I'm not.. I have experienced death and people begging for their lives in real life so in a GAME it is nothing to me just another day it doesn't bring back the memories as it's nothing like the real thing so shouldn't been seen as so upsetting for some people.

Ok, then perhaps you should take a break from real life. That sound genuinely hellish and I'm sorry you're put through those situations on a daily basis.

For people who don't though experience the hell of war, this is about as real as it'll get until they're in the ground. Why not let them live vicariously through non-corporeal avatars?

You've never felt bad for even killing an NPC in a game?

I wasn't happy with some of the people I killed in Oblivion or Skyrim as part of the Dark Brotherhood quests. :P I must be some pussy, eh?

Why do people have a problem with killing people on a GAME, I don't understand why players are getting so immersed with DayZ that killing people is actually affecting their personal lives I have read numerous posts were players have said how upset killing someone has made them and how guilty it has made them fell; personally I believe this is extremely sad and they need to stop playing DayZ if it's having the affect on them...it's a computer game, they're not real and you're not really killing people, grow a pair and get a life. These people seriously need to take a break from the game and re-think what they're doing with their lives if they're getting so worked up and upset over it.

Maybe the guilt comes from knowingly hindering the enjoyment of another for their own personal satisfaction, which, in real life or not, is a bit of a dick move.

That is not true. It would take an extreme sociopath to kill someone with little or no reason. Killing is very traumatic, with few exceptions.

Ps. Sorry to hear you have those real life exp.

If you really don't feel guilty for possibly ruining other people's hours of work, then get the fuck out.

Excuse me but can you take your abusive language somewhere else?

Why would that be the reason they play DayZ

Because I and many others use this game as escapism. Rather than thinking about all of the shit I have to do at work, or all of the bullshit that is constantly going on in our lives.

Edit: What i'm trying to get at is everyone will react differently when they are playing a game, and nobody has the right to call them out for it.

It's not, the game is what it is there is pvp in it for a reason and there is always that risk. People shouldn't get attached to their loot one day it will end be it from a player or a zombie. Should we go as far to say that the developers of DayZ should feel guilty for having zombies that kill people? No because it's part of the game just like other players and pvp is part of the game.

Never said I did not feel bad, just saying that you do it anyway and forget about it 10 minutes later because you know it's a video game. Besides, you would not have done it if you did care. I never do the Dark brotherhood quests anyway.

Well, for a teen, you have been behaving quite well. Showing your point of view, not raging etc

Don't start talking about real life, perhaps most of us have more experience in a leg than you have on your full body. Let's just face it, age counts (for me), emotions are treated differently, fuck, i cannot express myself, going to get the last beer in the fridge.

Like i stated earlier i'm talking about the extreme.

you titled the thread "why are there so many..." - this implies you refer to a significant part of the player base, not few isolated cases, and you coupled your bewilderment about those with insult. im not from UK, maybe its chav attitude i fail to understand here, but i think you might need to reconsider your statement.

I honestly think these posters are trolls or part of some carebear marketing campaign. I can't believe people have problems with killing avatars in video games.

Not a lot of FPS games are open world with other people. This game is really unique in this manner. By giving people the ability to choose their own actions, not just 3 different choices for story, it gives the player the ability to play how he or she would play. I think this is most in common in people who just start playing with the pretenses this is solely a zombie survivor.

But, I don't think it's misplaced and I completely understand how people can start to feel like it's an extension of their personality. They are playing how they want to and have to make their own decisions that have a direct impact on their ability to survive or die.

This fades with time, for most players, and is predominately something new players feel.
