Tigerhaswood 1 Posted November 30, 2018 Axes, blades, hatchets, shovels, sledgehammers and the lot are damaging or dulling way to quickly. I cut a couple trees down, open a few cans and my axe goes from Pristine to Ruined in a matter of minutes? I mean I know the melee weapons got to wear out eventually but it seems a little to quick or is it just me?
Mookie (original) 799 Posted November 30, 2018 I don't disagree, but sharpening stones have been re-introduced. I'm guessing they would restore a bladed item from damaged to worn, as was the intention a few patches back, but haven't had a chance to try that myself.

Good luck finding one though, they spawn on nature trails afaik and are way to rare to reliably find

Around the coasts and outside towns or between villages and farms the paths are sometimes not blindingly easy to see when they are on open ground and not through trees. You might not notice them, especially if you stick to the roads. The paths are supposed to be marked, but it's generally easier and quicker to find the path than find the marker, IMO Edited November 30, 2018 by pilgrim*

Perhaps I've got the name wrong, in which case sorry for the confusion.

Sometimes, I see quite a few sharpening stones. Others, I don't find them. I haven't seen one in a couple of days on my current run. (Duct tape still works for repairing axes and the like)

Indeed (not sure if they intend to keep it that way, now that they've introduced sharpening stones). I have done it for sure on the previous stable patch. I don't remember if I've tried it on the current stable patch, or not.

green_mtn_grandbob 594 Posted November 30, 2018 Also called a wet stone the man made ones have two grits on each side, the ones made from sandstone just have one grit size depending on the deposit it comes from.
