Effective, "Non-Military" Gearing up?

Recommended Posts

I've been in far too many FULL TSKO or GORKA setups, with the Huge vest or Plate carrier and I feel kinda, "Blah", so I was wondering what is a good setup for someone wanting to use the absolute LEAST amount if not NO military gear/guns ect. can expect to have?

Hello !

crafted leather pants, jacket and vest are a little bit demanding but offer a greatest/unusual look and a HUGE sortage capacity ( 9 slots fort pants and jacket, more for the vest). the camo is decent once colored with nails, you don't standout too mutch in the wilderness.

spring hunter outfits are quite good and offer one of the best all-round camo and decent storage capacity. i usually go for them until i find waterproof jacket.

double green/camo badana and facemask are good headgear, giving you additional rags if your rags stored got ruined in a fight.

i dislike the press vest, but if you don't want military gear, it's the best option before getting all the stuff needed to craft a leather vest.

hunting backpacks are the best non military bags IMO (and arguably the best backpacks), but the crafted ones are decent and offer low profile.

hunter weapons are great and as effective as most military weapons. blaze / red 9 and IZH 43 / longhorn are some of my favorite combo than i only drop for scoped FAL/M4 or SVD. SKS is one of the most polyvalent weapons in the game so far, go for it if you find enough ammo. the .357 magnum is a beast too, but quite hard to find in this patch. i personnally dislike "r" operated weapons since they are way harder to use in stressfull situation so i do not recommand repeater/mosin/MP133 if you can put your hands on one of the weapons mentionned before.

good luck !

Crafted vests, jackets and pants are great, although with the jacket, you may need to carry something to warm you up in the rain (a raincoat, heater, gas stove, etc.).

As far as low profile is concerned, the leather backpack (not the one from the barrel but the one made of the rope, burlap sack and 3 sticks, as boars are still gone I think) is one of my favourites. It makes you completely flat and able to sneak around much better.

When you go low profile, you get to learn that you need as many slots as you have. Right now I carry the high-cap vest, gorka, leather pants and alice backpack (so all the slots), and I'm still full and sometimes could use more room. The more you have, the more stuff you carry, but it's not always for the better.

AK74 is easy to get and I think it's not visible from the front. A Skorpion takes only 6 slots. You can also go hunting with a shotgun, as wolves give you the courtesy of running up to the barrel.

You need only a handful of stuff to enjoy yourself in Chernarus. The only military grade loot I really like to have these days is a spare grenade - the zeds would sometimes chase me like a cat up a watch tower.

A boonie hat makes you look like a dork and saves one slot for the fishing hook, so there is that. ;)

I usually wear riders jacket, grey cargo pants, holster and flat cap. I wear flat cap in every combination of gear. That leather backpack is cool but I don't like it's colour. And it's pain in the ass to make.

We could use some kind of civilian vest or jacket

Hunting bag. Green motorcycle helmet. Green Raincoat. Green cargo pants. Military boots for the combat knife slot or wellies. Choose whichever vest you prefer. Whenever possible I prefer the Plate Carrier because you never know when someone might shoot you.

This has been my standard kit for several patches now.
