what about the infected?

I just skimmed all status reports from this year. The only one to even mention the infected is the latest one - in a half sentence with a new spawner that won't be ready for 0.60

Is there no progress to report in this area at all? Or has everyone forgotten about them? Like mad cow disease and H1N1 ;)

The devs are focusing their time and energy on finishing the new renderer. What good does it do to fix and update infected if they are just going to change when the new renderer finishes anyway? The current engine cannot handle the infected the way we as a community would like to, nor as the developers of the game would like to. Fixing it now is like putting a bandaid on a bullet wound...It may help in the short term but will slow down the only way to truly fix the situation in the long term.

If you ask me, zeds should spawn like in mod. When player is near (maybe with bigger range).

Definitely not!

It was way to easy, just run around and look for zombies to know that there is at least one player there.

but it's easy to tell if a player is around by looking at the zombies now, in SA.. right ?
or do you mean - the more zombies there are in SA, the easier it is to see what they are doing - so it's a good thing there aren't many?

That's beside my point. I have a pretty solid understanding of development. I don't ask for zombies to be fixed NOW, be it in stable, exp or internal. I just would love to hear/read about some progress/work being made.

There should be enough people on the team to tackle several tasks at once. The designers are designing. The programmers are programming, the renderers rendering. You catch my drift. I cannot imagine nor will I believe that they start tackling this important feature of the game only whey they're done with everything else. It's just amusing to me there always used to be such a shitstorm about the zombies. Then they were gone for several months. Now they are back in miniscule numbers, still glitching like it's 1999 and nobody cares anymore... it's amusing... and troubeling at the same time.

Good thing there is a whole team working on infected/AI in Bratislava, right? Right? Actually, what is happening with that team?

They have to do something about infected fast! It is the worst part of game, that was supposed to be zombie game. I was killed by zombies in Exile today. Usually they are slow and easy to avoid, but they got me cornered on balcony while I was trying to snipe. Don't remember when was I killed by zombies in SA.

After two years of work they gave us those buggy animals that got frozen or run in circles
