CDIA 0 Posted February 25, 2016 Well, that sums it up.. Where I am going to be living there is not internet access. I can go to town maybe once a week. How can I play DayZ standalone without internet connectivity? Thanks for any and all kind responses.
philbur 476 Posted February 25, 2016 You will not be able to play DayZ without internet....until they include the offline component. This has been planned but will probably be one of the last features added
pilgrim* 3514 Posted February 25, 2016 (edited) check out satellite internet access. It exists. Sometimes the connection is slow, so maybe not great for gaming, also changes with cloud cover and rain and also times of day. But it exists for civilians and is becoming cheaper. Look it up and find out what is on offer. USA for instance : hughnet.com but (these guys are not cheap) look at plenty of others to find prices, look at fan sites and tech sites, search around. CDIA 0 Posted February 26, 2016 Thank you guys for the input. What about setting up my own server? Or is it that what goes in a server is a different kind of software that is not available to us?
[Outcasts]Massacre 121 Posted February 26, 2016 You cannot run DayZ Standalone without internet you can however run DayZ Mod, DayZ Epoch/Overpoch ect on a local server.

You don't have access to server hosting files, and even if you manage to put your hands on that and somehow 'manage' to set up LAN connection server, your gear won't be saved on public hive. Don't think that would be a problem since he won't be able to play online anyway. But yeah, no real (legal) options for playing DayZ offline right now. BCBasher 2465 Posted February 27, 2016 I'd discourage the satellite Idea, dropped mine because I got tired of paying $150 or more a month for a 600+ ping weather dependent. You'll have a very limited selection of servers with no BE ping kick among other things. They seemed to change something in the net handling at the end of my satellite play that made your laggy client wait for confirmation from the server before you could move or react when close to other players, being in someone else's network bubble was a death sentence. It was borderline playable on empty servers doing pve though.

Or is it that what goes in a server is a different kind of software that is not available to us? Soon, once they get there for modding. Server files will come. Expect it to blow up once that happens. So many like dayz, why so many copies sold. I cant wait myself. Not because of dayz, because i love to mod arma 3. Its very cool. I am going to assume, it will be much like Arma3 for editing and setting up servers. Once that happens, you will be able to connect via lan. I have my arma 3 server (outdated now) but its on my baby server. I can host it up pretty good, however to handle 50 people no way. It will do it, just the server wont be able to process it well. Konfucious K 183 Posted February 28, 2016 I used my 3g mobile phone hotspot to run dayz for a while. You will get owned in PvP every time but it's perfectly fine for hopping around empty servers and collecting loot.
ZomboWTF 527 Posted February 29, 2016 why would you even want to? without players there is no challenge whatsoever, or is there? if you have no internet connection, i think you will be far better off with minecraft, fallout 4 and XCOM

Although, back in the later mod days I had mine own server and it was always empty. So, I added super smart AI, then it was fun. ^-^
