This Forum is broken on Chrome Browser - fix it

Recommended Posts

So apart from my problems of reading any of the links posted by the devs in their Twitter threats and other small issues, there are some issues with captcha  + security codes on the forum. What happened is, I deleted my browser history/cleaned up, and despite having all my passwords saved for any other site, Dayzgame.com didn't save anything. I still had to enter my password manually, despite having ticked on "remember me". I then tried to use a link for this forum from after I had signed in. Again I was asked to enter my password, but when I did - it didn't work any more. Since then, my password is unusable.

My password worked before and I didn' make any typos. Obviously, the next thing I tried was to reset password - but on Chrome you see no Captcha codes, even after disabling extensions, such as adblock plus + browser antivirus. I tried this a dozen of times. Then I tried contacting the staff - but you can only see the list of staff (after some searching), but can't contact anyone. Why not? Because you are not logged in...

In the end I had to switch to Mozilla, which is seemingly the only browser that works with this forum. I then got a captcha and could relog with a new PW. I do believe however, this forum should work on any browser, and I don't wanna install Mozilla everytime I have a problem with the site. Fix it please!

Works fine in IE, Chrome and Firefox for me.

Why would you even use all 3? Which one do you use the most? Is Chrome your main browser? I've had nothing but trouble with Chrome and this forum. And it is the only one, too.

We have had some issues recently related to new member registration but none concerning your particular problem.

Maybe you can look into why my password wasn't saved after I cleaned my browser history. Every other password to any other site was saved. Only when I came back here, I had to re-enter it and it would still not save it/remember me.

Forums encode the PW in the data base, for that which is stored in your browser I can do nothing.

I use a program called CCleaner (crapcleaner) which allows me to save cookies (forum passwords for example) so when I do a sweep to clear my browser the saved passwords are kept.

I run it on startup but you can do a sweep manually.

It is free and I recommend it highly.

Try it, a clean computer is a happy computer !

Work PC has IE installed on it, and I can't change it. Laptop I use Firefox as Chrome was a little laggy on it a while back. My gaming PC I use Chrome.

I just had a new, but similar problem. After loading, the site showed my password and I assumed it would log me in. So I hit "sign in". Then I was told request could not be completed (or something like it), so I clicked "contact the site administrator" - which brought me to this page: about:blank

It seems all the links in the forum itself are messed up and don't lead where they are supposed to. Or maybe Chrome doesn't recognize them correctly.  The odd thing is, next I noticed that (despite all the contrary messages) I am actually logged in now. I can't say what is going wrong, but something is definitely amiss here.

Well, you will have to be a bit patient, I am afraid.

There's currently a few things being worked on in the background, so some issues are to be expected. These kind of things sadly take some time and come with issues (sometimes) onticeable to the enduser, but rest assured it's being worked on.

I've tried all of what S3V3N mentioned and I was able to do everything correctly in Chrome.  Chrome is my default browser and I have had no issues using these forums.  Not quite sure what's happening on your end man!

Chrome remembered your password? Or did you have to re-enter it? Because after re-entering it, try using the link from when you are logged onto the forum. It will tell you to enter your password again and that is where it stopped working for me. And from there on onwards nothing worked for me, including no visible Captcha.

I think there are multiple different problems involved. I never have any issues with Chrome and yes, I do delete all cookies, saved passwords and everything else multiple times a day, for webdev-reasons.

However, one thing is a known issue on our end - the captcha doesn't seem to be operating properly at times.

I don't delete the passwords. That's kinda my point. Every other site accepted these settings, but in Dayz forums I had to re-enter  my PW and then the link stopped working, like I wrote in the post above yours.

That's what I mean. That's not what I delete, either. Yet I never had any issues.

EDIT: Just realised, that I had written I delete my saved password, but I just meant I delete my active logins.

Hello there

Rest assured we are aware of the issues and indeed are actively looking into the problem.

Im also a chome user on a new clean win10 pro and have had no issues with the browser remembering my pass/user.

The issue *may* be closer to home but also might be something else, its worth ensuring your home system is cool and groovy, do you have another machinre you can test your user on?

I'd say you're right and would even switch browsers, if Chrome ever was problematic on any other forum or site. It's odd that I keep having probems here. I think it might have to do with some addons, but those that usually caused problems I de-activated and still could not see Captchas. And now when I log on, I always have to go to "sign in", then I see my password is remembered and after logging in I end up at this link: https://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?app=core&module=global&section=login&do=process

(sorry you don't have permission...)

However, after that everything works as usual. Before I cleaned my browser history and cache it would just automatically log me in without the "sign in" process.
