Over 10 weapons disappeared on the same character

I have no idea what I'm doing wrong but as the title states I've lost numerous weapons and I'm getting really frustrated up to a point where I should just take a break until this issue is fixed. I avoid climbing ladders with guns in my hands, I make sure to place them on my back first. From what I've noticed is that once I'm not able to remove a rifle from my hands it means I surely lost my gun, neither relogging helps as they completely vanish. Anyone has any insight on this or perhaps a solution, would really help me a lot!

Which gun are we talking about? I only had this problem with the Mosin on the Experimental build. That's why I ignore Mosin's. Never happened to me with another weapon though.

There was a bug where if you were holding the gun in your hands and you vaulted over a fence or something you would drop your weapon (and have to go back and pick it up). That was in the base .57 build I think, I don't know if it's still around or not. Could that be what it is?

Oh - one more thing - another change with .57 - previously if you had a weapon in a bag, say a pistol or a sawed off shotgun/mosin, it would reserve the space for that weapon in your bag. Now it doesn't. If you arm yourself with that weapon and then loot some beans which take up some/all of the space that weapon needs in your inventory and then you put that weapon away you will drop it instead of putting it away. That's another big change that's not intuitive because of how it used to be done.

I'm aware of all the bugs above but it's none of those. I've lost Mosin, CR527, Winchester, Magnum etc. Just imagine running around with your weapon in hand and you want to place it on your back, now my next step would be to open my inventory and press the red X button, as the hotbar still has delays therefore I avoid using it. Now the thing is that nothing happens when I press X, weapon locks into my hands and only relogg could solve that but then my weapon disappears. I honestly have no idea what should I avoid or how to stop this from happening except stop playing the game for a bit, it happens on a daily basis.

I remember this happening in experimental just as you say. But, not in new stable. Do you play on high population servers? Might be server stress.

Indeed I am, it's the Wobo's server which is usually full, had no idea that could be the actual reason. I'll now pay attention on how populated servers I'm playing until they manage to solve that.

Lost a winchester 70 that was hanging over my back on a reboot this morning. Only thing I can think of is maybe joining the server too fast.

 

First weapon that just went missing and had nothing to do with backpack slots.

Just yesterday I lost two Cr75's, one mp5k and one cr527 with scope on two different characters. They're not gone, They've been dropped somewhere and someone will be very happy finding a fully loaded weapong but unfrtunately its not me. This bug has actually been in the game for a long time but its been worsened by this patch. A lot.

 

I also encountered a bug where the gun was gone from my inventory but it still existed in my quick-bar. I could put items in its intended slot and still access and use it. I even killed a guy with it.

 

I've also noticed that if you have clothes or other slotted items in your inventory and pick up things when all slots are filled, it will put the items in them.

Other than that, you can probably avoid losing your gun by never vaulting with anything in your hands, and avoid double carrying or carrying your weapon in your hands at all times. It should make you seem more friendly, or maybe easier to kill, depending on who you are encountering.

I only carry throways in my Hands like shotguns/sporter/RAK so i dont loose anything valuable. Never lost a weapon from my back or vest

I've never (yet) lost anything from my back or inventory, but double carrying is as much a pain in the ass as ever.

 

The point about slotted items (eg cooking posts, raincoats) in your inventory just taking things when you interact with them (eg opening cans of food) is a good one and is at least sometimes the explanation for 'disappearing' items bug. Not always though.

So this happened to me yesterday and I think I found a fix.

 

I logged in and lost my Win70. Found a shotgun and put it on my back. I went to a well for a drink. When I tried to drink it said Win70 can't be filled with water. I relogged and bam it was in my hands when I logged in. Dumped that shotty and got back to biz. I know it sounds weird and flaky, but it worked and I was reunited with my chesty Winny.
