Gollas 0 Posted June 13, 2015 Hey guys im new here, and first sorry for my maybe bad english. Can you guys confirm that the desync and lags (player positions/pick up items/open items/interact) are really BAD till 0.57 released? And i mean really bad,it makes not fun to play, players teleport and desync so hard its nearly impossible to fight or interact with players. We ( not only me, all people i ask tell me the same) testet it on many servers (eldorado, selbstjustiz, wobo) just private servers. But only if they are full, on half full or near empty servers it isnt so bad. Can you confirm that?? Thx guys
yazar8 584 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) I am facing desync / lag since Day ZERO. I bought an alpha game and I don't regret it. OT: I think it increased a bit more compared to the previous versions, but I can't compare it with 0.55 because I didn't play that patch at all. Theorically though it should have decreased (quote Brian for that) because they fixed inventory matrix, but I'm not sure if that's actually in right now or not. Gollas 0 Posted June 13, 2015 yeah i know there was allways desync/lag before BUT till 0.57 its unplayable . I mean im going in a barn a my buddy ask me why i move up the hill 200meters. That cant be normal. And the devs says BIG "serverperformce increased" and "fixed desync" in 0.57 .... Not really its now nearly unplayble ! Can you guys confirm that??? FrostyKush 44 Posted June 13, 2015 I had almost zero desync playing yesterday, even got into a firefight involving 6 people in close vicinity and it was perfectly fine.
HarryPotter (DayZ) 172 Posted June 13, 2015 I played UKA1pp server after 0.57 very little lag or desync
ColdAtrophy 1850 Posted June 13, 2015 (edited) A couple months before the recent .57 Stable patch, I jumped on a few servers that were near or at max player count. The lag was outrageous. It took upwards of 30 seconds at times to do something as simple as eat a can of beans. For that reason, I generally avoided the highest population level servers. Yesterday I joined a server that was at 49/50. After playing for about an hour, I had to hit the "2" key, to which I bind my primary weapon, a couple of times before it worked. Other than that, I didn't notice anything different from playing on a low pop server. I would suggest that you go about isolating variables. 1) Ensure that your connection is not suffering from any particular issues. Even if it has been quite stable historically for you, it is not impossible for you to have sudden problems with higher than normal pings, packet loss, excess line noise, etc. Speedtest.net , Pingtest.net , and trying other online games can help you ensure that nothing is amiss with your connection. If you have multiple people in your home using your connection, you need to be certain that your router/modem can handle it and that you have sufficient bandwidth. Another good rule of thumb: Wired>Wireless. 2) Try to figure out if your problems are related to one server, several servers, or all servers. Try many different servers, including ones that you normally wouldn't or haven't played on since the patch. Start there and post back. Blackheart 5.56 56 Posted June 13, 2015 I had something happen for the first time last night, not sure what it was. I was running and all of a sudden started moving in another direction and had no control whatsoever. Had to re-log, it happened again, re-logged again and it went away. Is that the rubber banding thing or what was that? It wasn't like regular desync where you at least still have control.

Logged out and no servers were showing, turned out steam went down.
Killawife 599 Posted June 13, 2015 I get lots of lag right after log-in and occasionally some desync but nothing at all like what you are describing. And i play on those servers you listed. Its quite playable. Also, bear in mind that server performance its not the same thing as player performance so we might not notice that big a difference on our end. tux (DayZ) 325 Posted June 14, 2015 I'm starting to realize my network connectivity is almost 100% server based. Some servers will give me huge delays, some will make me rubberband when near other players, and some I've had virtually 0 problems at all. I don't know why different servers are having different issues, as I thought that the devs were forcing every server provider to use the same configs for now. Maybe it's just the hardware or my connection to the server. I tend to stick with the servers that I connect the best to. If you find a server that seems to work really well, I'd suggest you primarily play on that one to improve your experience.
Mookie (original) 799 Posted June 14, 2015 That's completely right IME - very, very server dependent. I only escaped death by a narrow margin this evening when I attracted a horde in Zeleno, only to have the server completely fritz out on me.
Gollas 0 Posted June 14, 2015 Thank you all for your answers, yeah i testet it out and its really server dependet. I found out its ONLY on private hives and thats sad. Its so unplayble on the server if they are full really unbeliveable i cant understand that.... And guys before you say not it isnt like you say or its my inet connections fault NO IT ISNT... And thats not only my opion (im a admin from a big private hive) all players on our server told me the same !!!!Normally i love to play dayz with all bugs and co but at the moment i cant ( btw normally i only play dayz and no other game ) I really really wish a fucking answer from Bohemia eugen or hicks or some one else!!!! stinkenheim 249 Posted June 14, 2015 I can't say what could be causing this for you, I generally play on Grumpy Old Ganers, UKA and Gents of Novo servers which are popular and often full or close to it and haven't experienced this. I'd be interested to hear from other people what could cause this as if it happens to me I'd like to know how to solve it.
aasand 92 Posted June 14, 2015 (edited) I usually play on the deluxe-gaming servers and iv'e noticed huge lag spikes after alerting zeds and people that seem to take insane amounts of damage without going down beliving me to think desync is tricking me. I also don't seem to have any better fps then 0.55. Responsiveness seem to be a bit better. Edited June 14, 2015 by aasand
