How to get weapons and other items out of trees/bushes?

I was at the outskirts of NWAF and noticed a tree with a fully equipped AKM; this doesn't include finding a decked out M4 a few months ago also in a similar tree.  The trees are the pine/Christmas tree type.

 

I tried various known methods for extracting the weapon out of the tree (approaching it closely, aiming at various points of the object, etc...), but it just won't pick up.

 

What else can I do to get these items out of the tree?

Like Stryker said, the best way is just to cut the tree or bush down. Either with an axe (any axe) for the tree, or any knife for the bush.

OT: As other already said, cut down the tree should do the trick.

  so with persistence, how long do they stay cut down ?

Trees respaw on reset still.

I managed to get a drybah stuck in an already cut down tree at one point and didn't want to wait for a reset. In 1pp if you crawl under something you can grab it transitioning back to crouch.

The respawnning trees can be handyvfor stashing stuff if you cut a bush down and drop an improvised backpack on where the bush was it'll be well hidden and not show up in the vicinity tab once the bush respawns.

I think it should be fixed, It has been like that since Dayz mod, once you put an object under a tree you won't be able to pick it up, it doesn't appear in the vicinity tab either.
