Need a Few Tips (Food).

Recommended Posts

Like I said in my thread a few hours ago, we all know this patch is severely dis-proportional. One thing I'm hearing a lot second to the Extremely OP zombies is the fact that there is little to no food.

So can someone give me a detailed instruction on the key places/points to search for food?

I have a fully kitted out player currently and I want to hold onto it for as long as I can, because apparently good gear is hard to find so I want to keep it and savour it whilst I have it.

So where do I find the most food?

Also: Whats the deal with diseases? What's New about em and how can I prevent myself from catching them.

Also a heads up about the weather and hypothermia etc. because I think I saw something on the forums about keeping warm very important because it had become easier to die of the cold.

Cheers for any info Team,

Just a heads up, if they've not done this already, they plan on enabling persistence on every server, no longer an option, however food respawn will be/is off. Sooooo, that said, you'll have to move further and further inland and at some point survive off the land till .56 is released to stable.

Another tip, avoid zombies as best as possible, take it super slow, and use ranged weapons when necessary, remember, your life is worth more than your ammo.

I've only got 3-4 hours in since the update but as far as I can tell forget any pattern to what loot spawns where. The only food I've found was in one of the big dairy barns, 3 tins and 2-3 sodas all in a small area. I also found Gorka pants at a police station. I don't understand the system yet but it looks like your going to have to farm/hunt or keep moving looting locations constantly for food.

The zombies are really easy to use guns on now, their agro radius for the sound is small. They're not very accurate homing in on the noise and don't look for very long before they go back to wandering.

Ok, so i'm going to ask what I can't seem to find anyone else asking. Other then the stupid broken loot respawn system needlessly being forced on us is the central economy being forced onto private hives and if so how is it effecting us? Are we on our own central economy system or patched into the overall with the public?

I heard zombies are glitched, hard to kill. Guns are more random but you can go to the airfield and find them still. Food, I have no idea. Probably the tent city would be a good place to start if you're in the area.

enlight me on how they are supposed to test changes if they dont implement them ? All iterations have their Problems and bring new challenges. If you dont like it...dont Play. Wait 2-3 patches and see if you like it more than.

What i like is that NOW the policestation at least feels like a policestation again. Lots of weapons/policeclothing...altho..only Inland ;)

Best way to hydrate if you're worried about getting sick and don't have pills is to use apple trees. Apples don't have a ton of calories but they are really good for hydration.

Zombies: shoot them. Only melee if you absolutely have to or aren't worried about getting smacked around a bit. Best thing to do: avoid them - be all sneaky.

Food: Grab a bag of lime and hug it like your girlfriend. Find some seeds and some water and you'll be fine. I always carry a potato in my pocket.

Take the road west out of Gorka, and then turn on the northern road, in two places there are pastures with cows.
Murder the cows, and have some meat, also with the currently "herrderr"-spawning (ie anything anywhere) you can find a cookingpot anywhere.

But first, get a pot (4 slots) a gas-canister (2 slots) and a gas stove (2 slots) combine them by means of dark magic, and 8 slots turns into just 2. with a 4 slot capacity for food.

then it's cook and carry all the way home. or you know... wherever.

the economy is per server. "central" is a misnomer imo. Eugen explained over here: http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/223307-central-economy/

Apples aren't very nutritous so stopping and picking them is a waste of time and precious energy. You can kill animals and other players and eat their flesh raw. You will need to consume charcoal tabs after to avoid getting sick though. I don't like killing animals or players so I don't do this but it is available. You can also dig for worms and eat them and catch fish and rabbits in traps. Everything requires that you have the proper tools for it which you won't have if you're a newspawn.

So instead, go to Elektro and do what we all do, give blowjobs for food.

I couldn't find cooking pots yesterday.

Before .55 I found them rather often.

Where do you guys find them now? They used to spawn in kitchens/on ovens.
