Exp Update: 0.55.126866

Recommended Posts

Hey guys,

you can discuss the released update here. If you are having trouble getting your character from prone position, please crouch, get your weapon out and holster it. It should enable you to stand up. Its a problem with physical controller for new zombies. Those are currently disabled, we need to fix couple bugs to get them on exp. Hopefuly really soon.

Could you please look into your troubleshooting section and verify if the client update today caused issues for quite a bunch of people (more to come most likely). The game worked fine for me yesterday, now it's broken and I've already taken a dozen of suggested troubleshootings, including patching to experimental version.

Did the failed BattleEye update just warp my 0.55 client back to 0.54?

My content build ID currently is 551679, the game in my library is flagged [experimental] but started up it´s 0.54...

According to Boneboys, the update should be several hundred MB. The little BattlEye update is only ~1.4 MB. Are you able to look at the download history in your Steam app?

After wasting what was likely most of a half an hour trying to force Steam(ing pile) to update the game I have deleted all locals files and am now downloading the entire 6 gig game again just to (hopefully) grab the 400+mb experimental update when it finishes.

Sometimes I must restart steam few times to force it to DL update.

My client however did update ~462MB but after starting the game and trying to connect to an Exp server there´s been a failed BattleEye update.

I´m so confused right now, but I´m pretty sure that after the client update I´ve read 0.55 on the starting screen (even on filtered Exp servers).

Where to look for my download history?

Edit: I did in fact update my client with 462.6MB like five times after patching back to stable each time but always end up wit 0.54.

The download history is only present for the time that you've had the Steam client open. It can be found under Library -> Downloads. I was only referencing it to see if you had indeed downloaded a big update, and it sounds like you did.

I don't believe the servers are up yet for Experimental. Someone correct me if I'm wrong about that, I'm still at work.

If i may,

when your doing any testing, i always recommend to my clients to backup the files prior to making any changes.

In your case, you should have backed up the dayz folder prior to exp .55

I would backup the dayz steam app first then do the changes to .55 this way you can restore to prior updates if needed.

I havent done the exp installs before as i usually test in stable. So the process of exp i couldnt tell you on what is the best backup solution is. Maybe .53 .54 .55 folders and delete the previous one. Steam i believes allows you to backup your games.

I just thought i should suggest that because you did exactly what 10million others do, and thats not backup your prior configs.

Gawd i have been doing this too long.

Usually rebooting Steam works, also having the Update priority to "Always up to date". Starting the game should force it to update.

On another note, I just went onto Exp, but it still says version .54? Has the update gone live yet?

OK, there is some confusion here, I had the 462 mb update but client is showing 0. 54 as are servers, I've been playing for the last 20 mins or so without a character reset.

As Tatanko rightly says previous update (Exp & Stable) were small 1.4 mb.

The Vs N° is not necessarily correct but until Eugene confirms if updated or not there is no way of telling if everything is synced.

My excuses for any confusion at this time

Please be patient.

Er, my keyboard bindings and video settings will be wiped when I reboot?

I guess I did forget this then.

Ugh.... thanks.

After downloading the 462 mb update my dayz is reading as 0.54.126862 in game but 0.55.1679 according to steam. Hopefully we'll get more info on

why it's showing different version numbers.

^They've left the old version number in an experimental build before.

It's unintended and likely a simple oversight.

Probably just indicative of some text that needed to be re-input.

The version number is an oversight sorry.

Any way to confirm which version we have? If we cannot trust the in game one.

Sory for being ignorant, are servers live?

I know you posted this an hour ago, but yes, they are up if you were still wondering.
