Guns you can't wait to see in DayZ?

Being a sucker for WWII and WWI era American rifles, I'd shit my pants if the M1903 Springfield and the M1 Garand were added. It may seem out of place, but the AK-47 was partially influenced by the M1 (It was technically modified as an M2 at the time, it was full-auto) carbine. If the most popular firearm (And most popular Russian) firearm is influenced by a very popular American model, I don't see why it shouldn't be in the game. Then of course, I don't see why the AK-47 isn't in the game, either. Also,the creator of the AK-47 had tried to create a carbine based off of the M1 Garand model earlier, so it wouldn't be too far off.

According to the wiki, the M1 Garand was on the dev wishlist, and I fully agree with whoever put it there.

 

It'd be rather cool to find old StG44's as well, but if any of the aforementioned badass rifles were implemented, I'd gladly drop my AKM for one of them.

 

Maybe it's just bias, because I own and love both of these guns, as well as one of the original M1911 models (Not the A1, the authentic 1911.)

There are quite a few other American firearms I'd enjoy seeing in DayZ, but they just seem so unlikely to fit into a Russian environment, like a Tommy gun, or the 1873 Single Action Army Revolver.

I love guns FAR too much. Trying to expand my knowledge of firearms made in other countries, but nothing will beat out those two classic firearms (And the m1911, which makes 3) to me.

 

What badass firearms would you like to see implemented?

Just to put this out there, I do understand that it'd be better to fix content rather than add more content, but I believe that the alpher is for adding and the beter is for fixing.

What will we call the beta in DayZ slang, anyways? "Beter" just doesn't fit, and "alpher" is going to get old really fast.

 

I still have one other question, though. Where is Chernarus on the world map? I genuinely forget. If it isn't in or near Russia, pretty much everything I just noted is meaningless.

I'll just hope that isn't true.

For me it would be the FN FAL and AN-94. I think I had read somewhere that the FN FAL was rumored for sometime later in development, I just hope they dont attach that horrid NV scope to it that was on it in the mod. I also realize the AN-94 presents a bit of a problem as it shoots a 2 round burst and the recoil mechanic works differently than most guns but hey a guy can wish cant he?????

FN-FAL would actually work, because I believe that the M3 Carbine had a variant that could take FN-FAL mags. Who knows lmao

I'm hardly so exciting, but I would love to see a carbine variant of the Mosin Nagant that had less damage at range but a faster time to bring up and swap to than it's longer counterpart.

I was rolling around ideas on how old guns would work in DayZ.  The M1 Garand lying around in the 21st century really doesn't make sense.  It would be cool if the devs added some kind of museum to the map.  Maybe near Severograd.  Have a War section of the museum that has a chance of spawning WWI and WWII weapons.  With .45 ACP already in game I wouldn't mind lugging around a Thompson.

it uses nato 7.62 amo afaik and should be able to use nato attachments

I'm not usually a fan of the 'more military weapons' thing, but FN FAL/L1A1 would be beautiful - very rare, accurate, semi auto.

 

Slight background/lore problem though - how would one end up in Chernarus?
