To the fully geared guy I killed at the Elektro fire station -

I usually play a pretty friendly character. I'm almost always non lethal against other players. I heard your footsteps coming down the stairs and I panicked and swung twice. I only swung because I was almost sure you were going to open fire on me seeing how geared up you were. 

 

I have never seen anyone so unbelievably geared up. I didn't even know an AKS-74u was in the game let alone one that could be covered in a ghili setup. I also have yet to find a grenade in game let alone multiple protector cases with 3 grenades and 3 flash-bangs + cases of ammunition. I don't even know how to throw a grenade in the game let alone use them strategically. 

 

I feel like you spent more time gearing this character up than I have spent total time in game. I looted all your stuff in a frenzy, but as a Christmas gift, I want to give it all back to you. I don't even feel comfortable running around with all this gear. It's just gonna piss me off even more next time I die. I rather run around town with a magnum and 4 rounds than this fully pristine mosin and submachine gun with over 100 rounds. 

 

I remember your voice on the microphone right before my axe connected with you. I am sorry I killed you. I know I shouldn't apologize for killing in DayZ but I want to get all your stuff back to you. I'm sorry. If you can somehow prove to me who you are I will gladly give you all your stuff back. Mad props on your organization skills too, your inventory organization is awesome.

You make a good point. One of his protector cases had two pairs of pristine handcuffs, making me wonder what might have happened if I hadn't attacked...

Fully geared guy in the fire station. There is no other reason to be there for

that guy than killing people and showing off. Any other reasons i can bet

would not be in your favour. If you don't want his gear, just give it to the

first friendly bambi you meet.

I'm not a kos type and am willing to risk my life to know for sure whether or not someone should be dead. The presence of multiple pairs of pristine handcuffs (and no keys?) tells me you made the right decision even if you didn't know it at the time. That dude had everything, and thus had no peaceful reason to be prowling around a fire station. Firestations are a death trap anyway. Everyone who enters knows there's a good 10-20% chance of dying in that vicinity on a populated server.

There are hundred thousands of active players and hundreds of servers. Players are basically anonymous. Most likely not all take part activeley in the forums. No offence, but what makes you think you'll receive an response from that person?

I feel that people would be more open to interacting with one another if the whole, "This guy/gal is wearing this, and using that gun, he/she will only want to kill you." hysteria would die down.

Iv meet a few they do exist but not by choice when i meet them. However when some want to follow me i decline and head off in a way they cant find me just incase.

I would say out of every 10 fully geared people I meet, 6 want to kill me, but 4 want to interact and actually be friendly, it's those 4 that make it worth getting shot/killed by the other six, it's those 4 who haven't given into your way of thinking, that every fully geared person on the coast is there for no other reason to shoot and kill other players, people need to learn to form their own opinions, and not join the, "Those fully geared people are big bad mean people, who will only shoot me dead. " way of thinking.

 

I've played this game the standalone for over 1700 hours, I know very well about how unfriendly people can be, but I too know that there are others out there who are truly friendly, and enjoy interaction.

 

My peaceful tendencies and risk taking died out a long time ago, but I'm not one of those people you've described when I go down to the coast, either. Dying is part of this game, currently there is no real reason to survive for any real time, when they add in far more persistent items/gear/vehicles and base building, then surviving will be "worth it".

I dunno, the more gear I get the more paranoid I become. I am no more likely to kill anyone. But there is the issue of other players getting more aggressive towards you the more gear you have.
