Most Horrible Thing Ever Happened

So my fully geared character (M4/ACOG/two 60 round clips/Magpuls/Bayonette all pristine + 2 ammo boxes filled with mosin + 556 ammo + 4 pristine protector Cases + Gas Canister + Grenades) decided to take a ride in the V2S around the Coast.  I drove all the way from severograd to svet and around the entire coast then past balota all the way to the end of the costal road and then decided to park the V2S right off the end of the road and log out so tonight if the server hadn't restarted I could just log in and jump in the truck and be on my way.  So I pull it just off the end of the road and it sinks into then under the earth with me in it and kills me!  F*&( me!  That character was alive for months!  So moral of the story is do not drive the truck off the map even one foot or it sinks and you die.

Wow what a harsh crowd. Most wont give you the slightest bit of sympathy around these parts man. lol. It's dog eat dog. 

I've been lucky with vehicles thus far. And I've been unlucky when it comes to keeping a character longer than a couple of weeks. I can't stay in the hills.I need action and that brings me undone. :)

How do you server hop heli crashes to get an M4 and ammo boxes?  There are like 74 spots.  No I ran all the hell over the map at exactly the beginning of server restarts and it took a long ass time and 2 pple shot me and tried to take my M4 from me when I put my gun away and said "hi i'm friendly,"  one of them shot me in the back with a mosin after we chatted for 10 minutes.  I met up with someone and traded for the ACOG. I didn't post to get sympathy, instead I wanted to warn pple about driving the truck off the map bc I am a nice guy and hope my info will help someone else.  You guys are complete D*%Ks.  Seriously you need to get laid.

Yeah I admit my story was too long and detailed, but the fact is its really hard to get an M4 and losing one sucks ass, so maybe my story of loss makes some others feel better about there stories of loss - like random character wipes ect. ...

And yes, I feel your pain. This is why I've not been that highly motivated to go and investigate vehicles until they're a bit more...stable. If I did, I'd definitely do what jukaga suggests and stash high value kit somewhere.

It really was too detailed, so that it had the smell of a whining thread. Loosing your char from a bug is hard, but never get too attached to it. Thanks for the hint. I will not drive further than the trees reach.

Yesterday a friend and me where driving in a V3S and all of a sudden blue screened out of nowhere. Friend who was driving seen me getting ran over and me bleeding from so many places. Couple of minutes later he told me he got catapulted from V3S and died. I didn't know anything of my destiny until I logged day later and seen my character all greyed and bleeding, happily I survived.

LOL yep I heard that you can die riding and that thing, it makes a ton of noise and quite frankly I think its easy to get shot right out of the drivers seat LOL

 

It amazes me how much hype this stupid fucking truck gets.......like its some magical thing. DayZ mod had cars, planes, boats....helocopters........Man they been having cars in this line of games since 2001...They add a half done one to dayz sa and evey one about shits them selves with excitement. Thing does not even work right.  I still prefer to walk....lol 

 

Also I never hoard that much shit, well not anymore, persist kind of works, it wipes every wens. So basicly your better off keeping everything on you, I basiclly carry everything I need to survive, blend in and to fight effectively with....no more, no less. I def don't stock pile really there no point....well....exept food and water..and having all that high end shit on your avatar.....man you die its going to be a big blow....unless your a dupper...sounds like a resipe for disapiontment..The reality is you fully geared like that, you better be good at hiding, think tacticly at all times and hope that when people see you they get scared, your able to have the fear factor, becuase a more exp player you may as well paint a target on your self. Your like a walking ATM to them and they want what you have. Don't forget that...players are either way more hostile toward you when your geared up, or they just run. You have to be well......overly careful...allmost takes the fun out it.

 

Its so easy to lose all that shit, and  not be able to recover it..even more so when you can die from game bugs too. You only stash for a limited time....so WTF is the point?

You know this thread reminds me of something. There is a type of gamer known as a collector, the person that wants to collect every item in the game all the badges ect ect. I done that my self in the past with other games, and have with this one, but realised its not really worth it early on, unless its quick and easy. Theres nothing wrong with that in some games. I think for many people thats there 1st instinct when they play dayz...they look at the wiki or dayz tv or what have you. See all the cool items, the proceed to go out on a looting easter egg hunt. Sometimes spending days and days on it, not even having a plan of how they want to play or even what kind of play style they want. They get all geared up from head to toe, then at the blink of an eye lose it all. Thats when hopfully the light bulb goes off and the player dosn't get ubset and just realises by god dayz isn't like other games.....this is perma death. You have to shed that collector mind set when you play dayz...its just not how this game is. I guess we all prob been through it at some point with the SA.

 

Dont get me wrong there nothing wrong with wanting a good kit, but really you have to know that something is going to get at you some point. How much is enough really. Are you going to be crushed when your avatar bites it or is it going to be just something you except. I celebrate when my avatar finely keels over, if he has had a long life in game LOL
