JK, I believe it is heli crashes.

It is in heli crash sites and from the experience of finding it, 3 American chopper sites my friend found had 2 M4s and 1 Steyr aug (2 of the heli crashes had an m4, other one had AUG). Maybe It's just luck or the probability to find one is 1 AUG against 2 M4's.

They do not spawn on persistence enabled servers, what's the name of the server you found it? If it writes "persistence on" it doesn't mean it is really.

I think that actual screenshot was from Exp before they pushed to stable.

 

But i still disagree - Ive found a couple of crash sites recently on persistent servers - ALso read below quote....

 

 

I can officially dispell the myth that helicopter spawns don't work with persistence on.  I found one of the new ones last night complete with smoke, I believe someone looted it before me as I only found a chemlight, weapon cleaning kit and a red beret (speaking of running away) LOL

I found a crash site outside Zelenogorsk. It was a blackhawk, fully visible. Had mags and some other stuff but no weapons or parts. It must've been a persistance server because later I ran into Lootapalooza at the military base.

I really hope the developers are able to fix the persistence issue with loot not spawning on servers. Atm persistent servers are TERRIBLE for trying to find anything remotely rare on. I had  to go on a non persistent server just to find magazines for my AK weapons. >.>

We've seen 2 on The FOG awaits server, the new chopper IS visible with smoke.  I've personally seen 1 with my own eyes so they are out there and we have persistence enabled.

They should share spawnpoints with 30 round AK mags, so Barracks should be the place to go.

No offence, but why "should" they? They take 5.56 CMAG/M4 mags, not AK/7.62 or 101/5.56 mags, so prob only spawn at crash sites. Happy to be proved wrong though....

Agreed, I haven't seen a stanag mag at a barracks, tent, jail or police station since they moved the tent city from Balota to Sticksville.  Maybe even longer than that...
