Kellrush (DayZ) 53 Posted November 18, 2014 I have been playing dayz for a LONG time. and im not just talking about dyz standalone, i have been playing the mod for an ungodly amount of time and i would LIKE to consider myself a seasoned dayz player. Because of my experience I understand that your survival isnt completly relient on what gear you have, i have wiped out entire squads who have mosins and AKs of all types with a blaze. but there comes a time where gear can be an extreme tipping scale in an extreme situation, now heres my point. its one thing to run into a few geared up guys. ir even a small squad. but what ISNT right is going into elecktro and you run into 8......yes 8....EIGHT PEOPLE ALL WITH SMERSH VESTS AND M4s AND BOXES OF GRENADES. you guys thought the duping was gone? no fuck no. that shit came back with a vengance. the dev team needs to REALLY crck down on that shit. and i dont know how its happened but i have now run into more hackers within the last 2 days than my ENTIRE time playing Arma 2 mod.........im just beaten, tired, and dont even want to play.....i understand this is in alpha....and i embrace it and all its buggy glory for the sake of dayz, the dev team, and my attempt to support them. but it has just ruined my experience with this game. dont ask me about how to dupe. do i know how to do it? of course. do i/ would i dupe? nowill i tell you how to dupe? I just don't think that it is really that big of a deal considering how Alpha this game is. There are other issues within the game that are less polished that need to be dealt with before duping is tackled. Duping has been dealt with before and then other ways were figured out. People get upset and then they get dealt with again. If you play any kind of game you should already know this. People find exploits, devs shut them down, people find exploits, devs shut them down. There were three AKMs, fully decked out, piles of magazines for AKMs and AK-74s, drum magazines, PSO sights, piles of extra ammo, a couple AK-74s, Hunting Backpacks,protector cases full of magazines and even more ammunition...it was insane. Larma 0 Posted November 19, 2014 Hello sir, Hopefully the duping is patched with 0.51. Throughout the week of gameplay in 0.50 duping was very common, this game is in alpha and the developers have released it to get the community to help find glitches and report them so they don't have to pay testers to do it :). If you don't agree with duping yourself you should not pick up the duped gear and use it in pvp, and then threaten other people and give them a lecture for duping themselves :), I myself think that is very hypocritical. And one more thing, I find it very entertaining seeing your other freind killerbyte start a thread about duping and saying how it ruins the gameplay etc etc, and yet killerbyte and I were duping one night, no joke. Remember this, most dupers have already played Dayz the "proper" way for over 200 hours, it gets god dam boring running around finding gear for 5-10 hours then going to pvp and dieing within 2 hours or so, and when patch 0.50 was released there was an oppitunity for players to gain more pvp experience quickly that will help them survive from bandits in the next patch. scriptfactory 620 Posted November 19, 2014 The duping situation was never fixed. Now they also have a pseudo "item creation" hack that uses the loot cycling in some way. I don't know how it works but I was handcuffed by a (quite pleasant) group of 3 Russians that had Press Vests, M4s, all attachments, etc. They said they found the press vests in Pavlovo military base using this technique. Take a game like Planetside 2, lots of players, online, I've only ever seen one hacker/cheater in like 500 hours of playing it. I'm 200 hours into DayZ SA and I have found 4 hackers and about 7 people I could confirm were duping. It cannot be removed entirely but it can be trimmed waaaaay the hell down and thats what is happening right now, they are working on it and eventually hacking and cheating will be rare in this game like it is in most other reputable online games. Duping isn't hard or something that requires a massive amount of work and planning, it is simple and easy right now and a lot of people are doing it. My video should be proof enough of how easy it is that one guy can sit on top of a tower and just duplicate his inventory for two hours to never run out of ammo for his M4. I do have faith that they are trying to fix it though because they understand it is game breaking and will murder their reputation if it is allowed to continue. Over the last week I have seen five people in newspawn areas with M4s and bunches of double mags, this isn't just something that happens fairly, these are people who are not worried about losing their super rare gun because they have a bunch of them hidden in tents all around because they can duplicate them at will. In the SA With-in 500 hours of game play I have only encountered 2 hackers. I haven't killed anyone I thought was duping and I am a pvper at NWAF. To me it is not nearly as bad as some of the complaints that come in. Still I do recognize they do exist and on a larger scale then I have seen but people act as if nothing is being done about it.
