When I find this bug it's normally garages or construction sites. used to happen in experimental a lot at green mountain. Bonus when you pick something up or put it in a bag, something else immediately spawns.

Well I really just made out with a bunch of pistols.  And of course of all the ammo there, I didn't find any for my SKS nor did I find a Mosin which I've got a pristine scope and muzzle thingy just waiting to be used.  I got some nice digs too I think I'm looking pretty military post apocalyptic chic right now.  All pristine threads, by the way.  Believe you me, my hand was shaking on my mouse trying to rummage through the stuff.  I'd been checking the player list frantically and it was increasing.  Only about a dozen or so but man I was freaking out.  Once I had my fill, I made out of there like a bat out of hell and ran straight south ... literally all the way to SWAF.  I was aiming for Chernos with my compass but my navigation really blows.

Yea I was thinking it had something to do with the update.  So we basically traded water from wells and getting hungry and more thirsty faster for more pristine loot and servers that puke loot all over NWAF.  Good trade.  LOL

Couple of days ago I found 7 protector cases inside a fire station, soon enough they started confusing me as I couldn't remember where I've put each item ^-^

Now they're a decoration for some random bush, should of put them back on shelves where I found them :)

Yea so after I got all kitted out and made this post, I went back online ... not 10 minutes later, some A-HOLE decided to say "hi" then shoot me in my face.

 

It's cool, I got a Mosin with stabilizier and scope.  Even gave it a cool paint job and got like 60 of the nato rounds ... Imma go hunt anyone now LOL.

The game just promotes KOS behavior. i tried to be friendly but it gets boring as 90% of the time you just get destroyed.

Ok ok ... not sure what "KOS" stands for but I'm pretty sure I know.  What I like about DayZ is it really gets at your human nature.  I was P.O.'ed to all hell after getting shot in the face and I was still VERY P.O.'ed when I made the post above.  But by the time I found my sniper spot with the Mosin, I was calm again.  Heck, I even spotted a semi bambi with obligatory motor cycle helmet and useless baseball bat.  I was about to off him but then I saw like 4 zeds converge on him!!  Then 2 more LOL!!!!!  I started picking off the zeds instead.  Just when I thought I was going to get Hero Of The Day status, the semi bambi friggin collapsed!!!!  I finished off the rest and ran to him to see if he still had a pulse and maybe gaurd his body while he recovered ... but then I accidentally pressed HIDE BODY instead. 

 

I'm sorry random semi bambi guy.  I was the kitted out dude hovering over you in the green chernos security beret trying to gaurd your body.  Sorry I accidentally buried you instead bro.

Well when someone is dead you get that "hide body" option, so obviously he was dead already.

I keep seeing this now. Saw it in two servers today. At first I thought it was some kind of setup, like I was being lined up for a kill by a bunch of bandits shedding gear or something. I found 4 SKS's, 2 Magnums, crossbow, a ton of ammo and a ton of other items all in one building.

I've run into this on 2 different servers, once in the jail at Green Mountain and once again at the back fire station in Elektro. To be honest the way the gear was laid out I thought it was some sort of a summoning hack, but based upon what everyone is saying it seems it's a loot spawn bug related to persistence? Curious what someone like accolyte or boneboys knows about it...

So this is a bug then?  And again, really, there was not WOW loot.  At best, I saw a couple SKS's in the barracks and the 4 pistols at the same place that I posted above.  And as I mentioned, of ALL the ammo everywhere, NONE fit the guns I was already carrying lol.  And oddly, notice that the SWAF (last couple of pics) was practically barren!!!

It is a bug that can be exploited by players.

 

To get an empty area to start looting up again, you have to find the few remaining items that have not been looted. Sometimes its not possible because of some ammo on top of a locker, or things inside buildings that cannot be picked up.

It is nice to find but only problem is I have found that on servers where that is happening which is basically all the persistent servers that there are many many places with nothing

So playing again last night in Elektro, I found the same sort of loot bonanza again in both fire stations.  Same sort of stuff in the first post I made.  And just the same, a lot of other places were completely barren of loot.  It would be nice though if it wasn't so much useless stuff like sewing kits and portable stoves.

It's a persistence bug, the servers run out of memory and do a flush of everything, just so happens to be in high traffic/loot buildings. We encountered this for the first time on our server after getting lock ups and restart issues, we had to turn persistence off and so far it's been working fine.
