    How was your Day(Z)?

And more on the meaning of life - with the only loot that spawns anywhere and everywhere DayZ is obviously trying to tell us to read a good book so I am off to do that and wait and see what the next change will be as this is too boring (for me) at the moment.

Sitting still, screen went black, 'you are dead', no noise, no shot, nothing. WTF!?

    Realism Vs Enjoyment

Cracking me up - thank you! Love a good laugh to start the day!

    Realism Vs Enjoyment

Are you saying it is authentic? Because there have been so many Zombie apocalypse that we know how to make an authentic game about them!? It can be neither authentic nor realistic but it can be fun to play.

Just not the 'real' part ; )

    Realism Vs Enjoyment

This is a great topic and is probably close to the mark with regards my experience: Is DayZ appreciably more difficult - no, not a lot in that you can survive quite easily but that's all you can do, survive; Is DayZ appreciably more dull - Yes, massively so. I appreciate the realism but I am not going to spend my gaming time growing f*&^ing tomatoes or finding a berry bush close to an apple tree and just walking between the two for sustenance and hydration. The most exciting thing to happen today was to get my hatchet stuck in said berry bush and I had to wander/sneak around a town until I found a steak knife so I could turn the bush into kindling and get my hatchet back. WooHoo. BTW this may actually be a bit of a bug - don't drop your 'in hands' item on a bush while you search, leave it just behind you then turn to search the bush. For those complaining about the complainers keep in mind that most are offering their opinions in their own way and without those opinions nothing would change. If no-one said anything the Devs could say "ok all is right with DayZ, the peeps love it' and go Gold. If you are happy with exactly how the game is now, say so, if you aren't, say so. Let the powers that be pick the middle ground - you can't please everybody.
  9. I am a live and let live kinda guy but am thinking about KoS purely because 'it's' the only container around with loot - not that I need the loot but it's quite dull growing tomatoes and picking berries. The most exciting thing happening now is opening a dunny door for loot.

    Army Tent

They seem to be working - the one I have set up is a 20kg Army Tent so no use stealing it as you have to drop your back pack to carry it. I have found two small ones also but left them alone as I have no use for them.

    Army Tent

Any one playing on the AUSARMA server out of Sydney Australia, I have set up an Army Tent just on the South side of Rogovo and started to stock it with farming stuff so you can grow some food if needed. It's close to the creek and the two story building with the water pump out the back so you can get water for the garden plots.

    Red or Blue Berries

Thank you! That is what I have been finding - just thought I would ask for a bigger sample of searches.

    Red or Blue Berries

If you find Blue Berries on a bush will further searching of the same bush yield Red Berries or only Blue?

    How was your Day(Z)?

Four days running I have met another player and they have all been: A. Friendly, and B. Helpful. The first guy I met ran in on me in a building while I was waiting for healing to kick in. I could barely see I was so badly injured and told him so - he left me a capsicum some tuna and an opened can of something else and wandered off. The second guy was a new spawn who I had the drop on so he just yelled friendly and ran off. The third guy gave me a .22 pistol and two cans of peaches and went on his merry way. The fourth guy ran up to a truck I was in so I let him in and we went for a joyride. We eventually got brassed up in Cherno or Electro and were both injured so I got us out of town and we ditched the truck, bandaged and ran for the hills. There we hid and both logged out. Thank you guys on the Australian AusArma Server - it was so much better than just being in a shoot out. I really enjoyed the experience of finally interacting with other players. PD

    Helicopter Crash Sites Guide(.50/.51)

Thanks Scavenger, just ran this alongside you (dual screens) and it was very easy. Do Helo's spawn on persistence enabled? What is the difference? P.
