C B 1 Posted November 2, 2014 Why are the good lootspawns removed from balota, its difficult as it is to get any good loot if you spawn on the south part of the map?
SmashT 10907 Posted November 2, 2014 Spawn locations were increased to include Electro, Kamy, Prig etc instead of mostly being centered around the North East of the map, as such the Balota camps were moved and the barracks removed, otherwise you would have everyone just run to Balota and PvP as they did before.
Rags! 1966 Posted November 2, 2014 Just like finding a good deal on a 2011 Mazdaspeed 3, it's there if you know where to look.
Geckofrog7 1168 Posted November 2, 2014 Well done, my child. Well done. As far as I know, they took out 1. to attract people north, maybe to Zelenogorsk. 2. Because heli crashes were introduced as a sort of replacement. and 3. because a common thing would be loot balota - get gun - kill all the fresh spawns at Cherno/Elektro.
C B 1 Posted November 2, 2014 Dont know why this topic was moved to new players? been playing this since the beginning. And i think removing the balotacamps and barracks makes the game less interesting.
Geckofrog7 1168 Posted November 2, 2014 I find it less interesting to just stay on the coast and farm Balota, but that's just me. I like exploring the map for new locations with 1337 loot.

Based on its content in general, consider it a step up from the graveyard for you. Steak. Edited November 2, 2014 by Steak and Potatoes
sachad 1016 Posted November 2, 2014 Dont know why this topic was moved to new players? been playing this since the beginning. And i think removing the balotacamps and barracks makes the game less interesting. In the six months I've been playing DayZ, I've been to the Balota camp maybe three times before it was removed. I would never have noticed it was gone if it wasn't for the 50,000 crybabies lamenting on the forums. :P

C B 1 Posted November 2, 2014 If i spawn by kamy or close to it, my route goes through electro, cherno and towards balota thats now empty. And if i spawn closer to berezino i used to go for NE, but that place is empty too and that is what i think a bad decision.
Geckofrog7 1168 Posted November 2, 2014 (edited) True, military gear takes longer to acquire now.Is that a bad thing? It should be something that you really appreciate having..something you worked hard to find. I am very proud of my PautRev camo, balaclava, and AKM. Edited November 2, 2014 by Geckofrog7
preacherlr 614 Posted November 3, 2014 They didn't actually remove the balota military base, They just moved it.Seeing as all you care about is military gear, Once the wooden floored tents are fixed, Why don't you try finding it?
umberfive 89 Posted November 3, 2014 For criticism this thread lacks some arguments. The only argument you gave us for the removal of Balota tent city being bad, is you being lazy to walk some more kilometers. It was easy to gear up and in my opinion, it is still.
Tatanko 5591 Posted November 3, 2014 Dont know why this topic was moved to new players? been playing this since the beginning. And i think removing the balotacamps and barracks makes the game less interesting.Less coastal PvP makes the game not-as-interesting? Okay, that's your opinion (and not one supported by anything, I might add). Your topic was probably moved to New Player Discussion because it's an extremely infantile topic. i have 462 hours of gametime and i must say removing the balotapart was a bad decision i think.462 hours is not anything to brag about nor does it lend any credibility to your complaining. If i spawn by kamy or close to it, my route goes through electro, cherno and towards balota thats now empty. And if i spawn closer to berezino i used to go for NE, but that place is empty too and that is what i think a bad decision.Sooo stop following the same route all the time? The developers' decision to balance the map by moving military loot locations inland is supported by actual data and logical decisions. Sorry you can't spawn and immediately gear up with military items, the rest of us enjoy being challenged which is why we play a survival game.
C B 1 Posted November 3, 2014 Why spend so much time implement small blunt weapons, headwear, sawedoff mosin etc.Why not try to implement useful items like a bike? you mostly spawn at the coast and like it is now,you have to run all the way to NW to get any good loot.I dont wanna spend the first hour after spawn to look for a telescopic baton to defend myself with, iwant to get a hold of a bike that can get me inland faster and away from zeds if needed. A few reasons really, firstly art assets are completely different from functionality. A lot of the new weapons and other items are dependent only on the art team with some input/approval from design, nothing to do with programmers. Bicycles represent new functionality and will require one of the programming teams to focus on that, that team is likely already focused on the first vehicle implementation (V3S). The V3S was probably chosen as the first vehicle to be implemented for similar reasons that the m4 was the first weapon, as it's a fairly large vehicle with many possibilities for attachments/parts they can then use that as a template for other vehicles in the future. I imagine a bicycle would have completely different controls/physics etc so it doesn't make much sense to start with that. Lastly, the team are not interested in appeasing the masses. Early Access is a chance to develop the title in tandem with real time user research, data analysis, and volume/stress testing. This is the purpose, and goal of DayZ Early Access. Not to get the features you want, when you insist on them.
yazar8 584 Posted November 3, 2014 (edited) Want military gear? Go to Pavlovo. Can't find loot? Go to Zelena, worst case run all your way to Vybor, there's ALWAYS food and clothes / backpacks and useful stuff there. Pushtoshka has 3 houses with blue stripes, those spawn enough food. Telescopic baton? Amateur, I use my fists. Or I simply avoid zombies, learn to be stealthy! Let's say you hit a Cherno spawn. Get to the fire station, find an axe, if you can't find that get the best gear there and get out, take a trip to the soup house behind the fire station and then to the supermarket, find yourself some food. Go to Balota airstrip and try finding a backpack, couldn't find one? Don't worry, you'll eventually find something useful there anyway. Go to Kamorovo and check the police station, loot the bar there and head to Pavlovo, find good gear at Pavlovo, move to Zelenagorsk, check the military base. Check the soup house near the base, get yourself some food. Check the medical facility there, get bandages. Move on to the pound at Green mountain, drink water, run to Pushtoshka, loot the 3 houses with blue stripes, if you have enough material, kill the cows and skin their meat. Head to Vybor, finalize everything you need, check out the Vereshnik military base and you're good to go. Edited November 3, 2014 by Yazar8

yazar8 584 Posted November 3, 2014 My kind of guy :) Don't play this game then It's a survival game It's meant to be hard. There will not be pink ponies saying hi to you at the spawns and hugging you, asking for a ride, making you fly to the east side of the map and getting you geared up. This is DayZ, not COD 4 with old school mode. If you don't know what that is, at Old school people spawn with no weapons and they find them, then the round starts. CJFlint 357 Posted November 3, 2014 (edited) Hey, tent city is north slitghly west of zelen now. I was just there sat night in fact. You have to go through a the forest to get there. Its really funny, no ever goes there either, no one seems to know about it...never see anyone there. Never anysigns of looting. There is one barack and tons of tents. Really theres a little bit of mil loot and a ton of food. Its in the middle of a feild in the middle of no where, almost on the edge of the map. Really it ideal for getting loots of food, and maybe a mil items or 2 No zombie's either. .....oh dam cats out of the bag now..me and my big mouth. My secret loot area is now known lol Edited November 3, 2014 by CJFlint

My secret loot area is now known lol I saw a sniper in the bushes the first day the camp was implemented. But apparently he was logged off because he "vanished" a couple of seconds later after spotting him. Didn't go there again, If It's safe, I can make some trips there! There is not a barrack there though. Well what you call a barrack is not a barrack. Edited November 3, 2014 by Yazar8

Well what you call a barrack is not a barrack.Your right, its not a standard barack, its kind of a curved shape building with bunks inside, thats were the mil loot spawns. I see gurka helmets spawn, and once an akm. There wooded hills both east and west, and the tent city is right out in the open in a feild. If more people went it would be pretty deadly snipers could pick people of from either east or west. Edited November 3, 2014 by CJFlint
