Just added a engraved 1911 to my kit. I know it's "very rare", but just how rare is that?

 

Should I be proud of this find, or is this more common than I think?

It's not super uncommon. The most common place I find them is the 1st and 2nd floor of the construction sites. I've had good luck finding the mags in police stations.

Depends. It is a gun which performs the same way as the normal 1911. It has a different texture.

Is this something rare? Will one be able to trade it and receive more in return then if one traded with a regural 1911?

But you're right, it's a god damn good thing we don't have several different choices and options for clothing items in the game, what a tragedy that would be to be able to get your character in a get up that defines your playstyle or enhances the immersion.  What a waste of time, right?!

 

PS massive kudos for first spelling engraved wrong, then spelling it correctly, and having the absolute balls to leave the first mispelling like a real badass, you have my beans man.

It's not rare because the loot tables are messed up...  I've found a total of 30+ engraved 1911 for about 5 standard 1911.... Those spawns rates are currently inverted.

 

Although I don't mind, as it's my favorite pistol.

The 1911 is cursed

 

Every time I find one the game destroys it:

• Floor glitch ruined it along while in was my pants
• zombie found me inside a small house while I was spawning and couldn't move. It was ruined along with half my stuff. 
• Inventory glitch erased it from existence when logging in.  

I really love the gun, that's why I keep picking them up but they do more harm than good for me.
