savini 587 Posted October 11, 2014 Heya fellas! It's been awhile since I've been on the forums. I've been happily taking care of the little monster that is my daughter. Now that she is a bit older I can have a bit more free time, so I'll be able to hop on the forums a bit more frequently :D. Anyway, I had some free time and decided to hop on the experimental build today. I had spawned just south of Berezino and was scrounging around for a few cans of food...you know, the usual stuff, when I came across this bad boy. I found it in the building pictured. For those who don't recognize it, it is one of the brick buildings that has one hallway that runs between two large rooms. I didn't get a chance to fire off any rounds, but I sure do love this style of shotgun. SIDENOTE: Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, I did a search for the shotgun name and nothing came up so I figured 'what the hell'.

SIDENOTE: Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere, I did a search for the shotgun name and nothing came up so I figured 'what the hell'.For the record its WAY WAY more conservative and BETTER than the double barrel in long gun form. I think the only advantage the double barrel has over this is being sawed off and put in your backpacks to take up less space for a better weapon. That being said this shotgun has 6 rounds and is a one shot kill on zeds regardless. Plus its far more forgiving if you miss to. allowing you to take on a horde much easier with less reloading. So this is a better gun for multiple groups coming at you.
Whyherro123 2283 Posted October 11, 2014 Give me the ability to mount a bayonet on that bad boy, and I will be in shotgun heaven.
grindstone50k 208 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) What is reloading like? Can you add a round when you have a less than full magazine or do you have to empty the whole thing? I hope they re-add slugs soon. And make it so you can load it realistically. Edited October 12, 2014 by Grindstone
gibonez 3633 Posted October 12, 2014 Awesome civilian shotgun . A duck semi auto shotgun would be sweet now too.
kakysas666 191 Posted October 12, 2014 Hey OP, you should also check out this new town in North called Svetlojarsk. Very nice place.

Zombie Milkman 167 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) Awesome civilian shotgun . A duck semi auto shotgun would be sweet now too. A Saiga fully automatic 12 gauge with drum mag would be even better.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxslOcJ9M3s Edited October 12, 2014 by Zombie Milkman
The-MCV- 149 Posted October 12, 2014 Looks nice, but shouldn't it hold 8 shells?
AP_Norris 1018 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) Looks nice, but shouldn't it hold 8 shells? No, I think it has a slightly shorter barrel and tube.So 6 is correct for tube length I think. Edited October 12, 2014 by AP_Norris
AP_Norris 1018 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) I like it a lot, unfortunately you can't load more rounds into it without removing your others first, or have a nice custom load order of maybe a few slugs first then buckshot.Definitely a reliable weapon, hope to see a few changes to how ammo and loading works in the future. stielhandgranate 480 Posted October 12, 2014 that tube looks like it can hold six shells. The MP133 restricted to four shells should have the tube stop at the cocking handle. Someone inform the devs so they can modify it to six shells.http://world.guns.ru/shotgun/rus/mp-133-e.html
ryanh 36 Posted October 12, 2014 Ive shot this gun personally and it's defiantly got 6 shells chambered.
gibonez 3633 Posted October 12, 2014 A Saiga fully automatic 12 gauge with drum mag would be even better.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxslOcJ9M3s Naw rather have a nice commonly found 3 round semi auto duck gun with an aggressive choke and long barrel for tight patterns at long range. stielhandgranate 480 Posted October 12, 2014 A Saiga fully automatic 12 gauge with drum mag would be even better.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zxslOcJ9M3s I'd settle for a standard saiga 12. It shares the accessories with other AK pattern weapons like the AKM,AK-101,AKS-74u,and AK-74m, is a common civilian weapon despite it's menacing military look and is distinct from other shotguns as it is detachable box magazine fed and semi automatic. Chaingunfighter 917 Posted October 12, 2014 (edited) I'm really liking that 6-round tube, because it still allows for the Remington 870 they showed awhile ago without the two being redundant. (The M870 they picked looks more modern and tactical, and would utilize an 8-round tube, being a military pump-action shotgun, whereas the MP-133 is clearly more civilian-oriented.) (for reference. The top two are the Sporter-22 and CR75) Edited October 12, 2014 by Chaingunfighter

Whyherro123 2283 Posted October 12, 2014 Only good shotgun is a sawn off shotgun. Ah, the naive innocence of someone unacquainted with the M1897 Trench Gun, a 12 gauge pump shotgun with a bayonet attachment. They were used in WW1 by the Americans to stop grenades in mid-air, and the Germans hated them so much they wanted using shotguns to be made a war-crime.... savini 587 Posted October 12, 2014 I happened across another one today! Found it in a short one story barn. Luckily, I happened to have a box of buckshot with me when I found it. I can also confirm it holds 6 shells. Here is the sight picture. And a side view. If you're wondering why it looks kinda shitty, it's because I have my settings turned way down whilst I wait for my new ram. There is a front post on the shotgun, it didn't show up in the picture for some reason though. Also, on a side note, I found a welding mask as well. I should've tried it on. I don't know if it obscures your vision and/or makes everything dark as hell...next time, I'll try one on.
ChainReactor 922 Posted October 13, 2014 I should've tried it on. I don't know if it obscures your vision and/or makes everything dark as hell...next time, I'll try one on. It doesn't, just like all the other masks. However, when you wear it along with a basecap, there is some serious clipping going on which makes your head look like a creeper from Minecraft. http://forums.dayzgame.com/index.php?/topic/212191-experimental-branch-050-discussion/?p=2133203
Pandema 352 Posted October 13, 2014 (edited) Great, now all we need are slugs. EDIT: Something I'd like to address with the welding masks in the game. They're auto-darkening, meaning that unless you expose it to a rather bright light source it will not be pitch black. But the FOV from inside one is absolute shit, I would not recommend wearing one in a real life survival situation. Edited October 13, 2014 by Pandema
