Forum names = no kos

When / if i reconize a name from these forums in-game i try not to kos and make contact... I'll admit iv only seen a few names in a game i recognized and never ran into those people but always wanted to keep that option open.  Seems like one of the few ways to potentially weed out a hostile and maybe even make contact with said hostile...

 

After many bad encounters, as we all know, many of us have turned into murderers - not by choice but by these horrific wasteland encounters that have warped our otherwise good natures...

 

Granted that these encounters can and prob will only happen on very low population servers where the list of names is short, would be very difficult on a 40/40 server - see a familiar name - then try to find that person lol.  Like Cpt Miller would say " Like trying to find a needle in a stack of needles..", altho he did find Pvt Ryan... maybe we can to and not die on a bridge...

on my keymappings it the P key, shows a list of who is in the same game as you...  but when you run into a player there no indicators that i know of, so this is where the gambling part of it comes in... never know who that other person is.

I've stopped using BioHaze and I probably will never use my Forum name in game again.

 

If I truly confirm you as friendly and we talk for a good long while, I will probably get around to talking about the forum and my involvement there.

 

I have met a few people in the past who I was able to avoid KoS with by dropping my forum name but I'm not sure if they knew me from here or merely respected my plea for a neutral passing.

Currently I'm Eddie Currants but I change my name every now and then. I've seen a few names in game that may be from the forums, but then again it could have just been a coincidence.

I stopped using my forum name a long time ago due to people actively looking for me due to my pacifist mentally. It got old real fast of being held up, asked if I was Tobias Winfro only to be shot after detainment or fed disinfectant or alcohol tinctures. Some were kind enough to give me a free pass or even asked how to find ashwood trees or certain items I tend to travel with but mainly killed in various ways.

If you ever see an escobert it's me and I'm friendly as long as you don't come at me with a weapon out :) I'm usually on the west side.

 

I always check the player list when I join just to skim through the names. I figure people who actually put some thought into their names are probably less likely to be kosers or whatnot, but who knows. Also always good to check to see if there's a good sized clan on to stay away from.

 

If I die and spawn back in as a black or asian person I will sometimes change my name to be more fitting for the character and more funny. I've been Gucci Mane and Mr. Lee before.

I go by jukaga in game usually. I'm generally neutral/friendly. I don't kill new spawns outright but will if you persist in following me. At airfields I observe before taking action, or slip away if the odds don't look good. Talk to me, and I'll always respond. I don't like pairing up with randoms using in game chat, it's waaaay to sketchy but if there is some trust I'll make you a steam friend for VC and/or skype. I don't think I've ever run into a fellow forumite that I've recognized.

I usually use my forum name in-game, and haven't seen anyone use it. I use it in many other games too. I've recognized a few other forum members while playing, but haven't encountered them in-game as the chances are very slim.

You have your finger on the trigger and choose to pull it. I don't change my way of playing because I get killed, or betrayed. But that's just me. I like talking first to see what happens.

Event ? never knew there was such a thing.. how you find these ?  would seem like an ideal place for psychos to ambush a lot of people...

It often is the case, but when facing 15 to 20 opponents, those psychos die anyways. Check the forums and the youtubers/streamers you like for those events. Youtubers sometimes start events to meet subscribers, and some forums members do meet-ups with each other too.

 

I like those a lot. Sometimes we get attacked by psychos, but it just spice things up a little. B)

Exactly, if I meet you in game and we don't get hooked up with steam chat or something I'll ditch you the first opportunity I get. had a guy walk up on me while I was eating the other day. He was a bit sketchy, wouldn't use a mic and wouldn't respond to my mic only text. also he wanted me in front all of the time. I ended up giving him and axe and leading him to a police station and ran off into the woods after he went inside to loot it.
