For those of you that have lost faith in DayZ...

Recommended Posts

Think of it this way....

Almost a DECADE ago, a team of idiots and scammers decided to create some hype about a flight sim they called "Fighter Ops".

They raved about how it would be the cats ass of flight sims and how immersive it was going to be. The hype eventually enticed many people to donate REAL money and invest with the promise of a magnificent flight simulation that was gonna turn the world on its ears.... You know what they got?

JACK $HIT!!!!!

Actually I'm exaggerating. They got some wall paper screenshots and a few videos. That's ALL.

Now, bring yourself to the investment you've made here with DayZ. A game that WARNS you and explains IN DETAIL how it is still in its ALPHA phase and how there WILL be many bugs and glitches BUT, at least you get to actually play the game (for just 30 bucks) and you get to actually SEE progress. Think of the retards who bought into Fighter Ops lol... Man I cannot believe the nerve and sheer lack of human compassion to rob people of their money the way the Fighter Ops developers (and I use that term VERY loosely) did with their followers.

In case anyone thinks I'm lying, read this

I for one am glad to have this game and enjoy playing it, when I'm not being KOS'd lol.

I enjoy this game and will continue to do so the hackers atm that seem to be popping out of the wood workd are whats killing the experience for me i love the tension of a epic gun fight squad on squad the tension gets real and derrrrp in comes a lone piece of crap hacker either teleporting and shooting through walls or item stealing whatever damn hack that makes people toss their guns. LOL. Most the idiots actually losing faith in dayz are the ijits who came over expecting a damn cod or bf gunfighter sim which this game was never intended for its a survival sim which its growing to be quiet good at.Sure alot of the people who played dayz mod are gonna argue but those are the people who played overwatch and epoch and rocket had little to noooo association with whatsoever so dont start getting the mod for the mods confused. This is pure dayz survival at its finest.Cant handle the game in alpha phase wait till its releaed and has the mod support then im sure you people will be happy when the mod community starts comming over.Like in a few years problably.

Lose faith?

Whatever happens, happens. If it's meant to be, it will happen. If Dayz never fully materializes (I think it will) then I wont lose sleep over it. 30 bucks falls out of my belly button every day when I wake up in the morning. Plus, I've already gotten 30 bucks worth of entertainment out of the game, at least.

I spent 30 bucks and got (until now) >50 hours fun. Compared to a lot of other things (f. e. think about cinema) it's a real good cost-benefit ratio. :D

I never lost faith just became concerned with the direction Dayz was taking once it came to light that some aspects of the game were going to be streamlined for the benefit of casual players.

Thankfully those steps have been corrected and the game can once again remain a bastion of complexity and depth. I say let the Casuals suffer, they will adapt and then given enough time they will be converted.

Eh people need some patience if they dont like the game they simply shouldnt buy it yet and should wait it out which the devs have plainly stated in all caps on the purchase page.Eventually the game will  get the modding tools and more server controls and when all that happens people wanting a more casual experience they can have it when a modder makes it so but untill then just TEST the game and have fun with what we have.

Why do people always point to this game being 30 usd? That's cheap as hell for a game with no monthly subscription. 5 hours of minimum wage will buy you the game.

But back on topic, I love being here for the alpha. It's a blast to me. 600 hours played and it's still fun? I wish more things in life gave me this much enjoyment for that cheap

Jesus fucking Christ. DayZ is an alpha. It's been an alpha. Nowadays, it's less of a status and more of an everything-proof shield. If anyone points out a flaw, the automatic response is "ALPHER!"

You'd never see this tactic with anything except PC games. DayZ is fun, sure, but it needs work, whether or not it's alpher.

I'd love to see a Gamecube game released with 3/4ths of its features either glitch, missing or both. I'd laugh my ass off.

I don't understand the parallel of the example given.

If anything that makes me lose more faith knowing that the worst can happen as you've pointed out.

Not saying by any means I've even lost faith but just trying to grasp why you compare a failed scam project that went nowhere to dayz and tell people not to worry.

They dont need to use its in alpha as a shield for the simple fact IT IS IN FCKING ALPHA.And if you bought the damn game after the devs flat out said said not to buy it because it is in alpha its your own god damn fault and the simple fact the game was never released.Instead of bitching give some constructive feedback which is the whole damn reason why we are consisdered testers consider it a pre order with the added bonus of playing it as is.This kind of fcking outcry is the EXACT reason why most game companies never let the general public play their alpha builds or they have a NDA in place because people are plain stupid in the head on what a alpha entails. Its isnt a beta everything in the game as of right now it literally a placeholder all the way down to the ui animations etc etc because they are still being developed.

This thread, i believe, was started to combat the "Has Anyone Else lost Faith in Dayz?" thread (which i give an 8 out of 10 for effort) which Mr Hall replied to and was picked up by Rock, Paper, Shotgun and they wrote about it here ~~> http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2014/09/11/dayz-early-access-is-not-dayz/

I usually never come on any of the forums of the games that i play because of ijit trolls, but after reading the news of DayZ on steam, i felt that i had to come out of the shadows and put my 10 cents in to play this silly game of forums pong, Reality > Ignorance

First of all, and yes i am gunna say it, ITS ALPHA!

If you're stupid enough to buy a game that is in alpha not knowing what development stage alpha is, then you need more experience in the games industry, or you simply need to do research on the matter, or you could also "Take-In" all the warnings about the game being in alpha instead of ignoring them.

Let me put it this way, Mr Hall (yes i call him Mr Hall out of respect for a fellow countryman making it to the big leagues in an industry i have much interest in, coming from our little country) could have announced that development has been started on DayZ standalone and that development would take 3 years, not releasing an alpha or even a beta for any of us to play, Mr Hall could have hand selected his alhpa and beta testers which could have been a very viable option being backed by Bohemia Interactive. (i dont care what anyone says about Bohemia Interactive, they have made far more money making and publishing games then any of you)

I think it was a good idea releasing the game in Alpha for us to play, that way they can avoid what happened to Blizzard's Diablo III upon release.

Yeah, I followed it from the beginning. But I'd be damned if I give money on a promise. In Dayz I had played the mod from almost the beginning and then I waited to buy SA for a few months. In the beginning SA was just too bare for me. I got my 30s worth already.

I played the Battlefield Hardline closed beta earlier. Every glitch, imperfection etc they didn't blame on its beta status, they blamed it on themselves. And, DayZ's alpha status didn't directly cause the problems. If it wasn't made, it wouldn't have them. It's the creator's fault no matter what status it's in.

Also, you blindly assume I have DayZ because I criticized it, when I said earlier "DayZ is fun, sure". You're the type of person that drives people away from the forums; a blind fanboy full of pride and super mighty testosterone and you're ready to beat up people who say DayZ has problems and steal their lunch money and give them wedgies or whatever the hell you do.

Seriously. Just admit, DayZ has problems, and one word isn't the cause of them. A nuclear missile going off prematurely and killing millions of people isn't the fault of the person who invented radiation (contrived metaphor for alpha status), it's the person/people who built/maintained it (contrived metaphor for creators/devs)

btw, I love DayZ, so you can just stfu about "you just don't like DayZ etc" I hate the kind of responses you made, because they always lead to flame wars. All the time, 100%. It's fucking stupid how criticism gets your house burned down here.

Can't say one negative thing without fangirls rushing to you and burning yer house down. It feels like North Korea.

this is my definition of an ijit troll

instead of supporting the game and its HUGE potential, you point out the obvious problems with more words then you use to praise the game

I'm a troll because I point out flaws?

Better call up IGN and tell them they're all trolls.

Should I tell you what I like about the game so you'd stfu?

Here goes: It's organic, it's more realistic than most games, it is only slightly luck based, the game plays well, lag has been cut down to the point where it runs well on even a laptop, the community is decent to an extent, it can be really damn funny, it's replayable, it's non linear, it does sandboxes right, it doesn't try to mix in a pathetic attempt at a plot, gameplay wise it doesn't do much wrong, it has good wildlife AI only beaten by TheHunter, mechanics such as movement are polished enough to work, the keybind customization is easy to understand, the game has a high skill ceiling, you never stop learning or exploring, the scenario you're thrown into has actual emotional weight beyond pure terror of a zombie sneaking up on your big fat bean-bloated ass (It actually feels like people lived in the houses you now loot. See: books), the developers are cool, it has a good map, it has a good scenario, the scenario is played to its full advantage, it's unique, and, most fucking importantly, IT IS FUN. Why do people always assume pointing out any negative aspects means you hate the game?

There you go. More words about why I like it than why I dislike it. Happy?

So this, therefore, classifies him as a troll? I hardly think that is logical; by your logic, you yourself would be a troll in Walrus' eyes, or anyone that you don't agree with.

i couldnt be bothered reading the rest of your post because i would end up stooping to your level and end up trolling you.

well thats also a beta status not a alpha status this early alpha they are literally in a development phase and creating stuff and yes glitches and bugs are part of that process that as testers we are suppose to report about not rage about because thinking bugs are not gonna exsist in a ALPHA build is just plain ignorant and unrealistic. The hardcore criticism needs to be saved for when it hits a beta phase ten all the harsh words will be just but this early mmmm no they are just ragey remarks from a buncha turds who dont understand the development process and its only been maybe less than a year so far ive seen some games in alpha take years 3 at most to hit the beta phase.
