I can understand why you as a freshie would want to punch a geared guy out, but why go up against someone who doesnt have anything worth having? I have found hunting backpacks in the tin barns. The silver ones with two blue doors each end. Several times actually. And once in a hunting tower.

Once again my day went exactly as anticipated. (people are boring huh?) I grabbed a sniper and an mp5k for a backup and head to cherno. Immediately shot at by a sniper (possibly) and i duck inside a house. one guy runs up and i gun him down but i'm hit several times due to latency. I go down to close the doors but he had a friend (turned out to be 3) i shoot a couple times through the door side as it was still open but he guns me down first. I go back there to see if i could grab anything but theyre all camping the stairs. real classy guys.. so i let them kill me out of boredem. i'm later killed by a hacked m4 guy and then 2 guys who really could not shoot worth anything. I had ran from them (again out of bordem) for quite some time until they hit me in the leg. frankly i was surprised they had stopped camping in their staircase where i first found them. I encountered probably 7 people. one guy i met at the very end showed me to a hunting backpack and let me have it (also the first one ive seen since .58 released) so 1 out of 7 people are nice and wont kill you possibly maybe please sign this contract so im not held liable for your death.

 

my firefight was short but fun and its another kill i can chalk up. Playing alone is getting to be quite a chore though, since there's no one to watch my back and assist me. I really need to find someone to play with.

What kinda times do you normally play? Also you have to expect the average person in Cherno to shoot you. You wouldn't go to NWAF and expect people to be friendly, so consider Cherno the same way since it is the (low grade) PvP hotspot atm.

all encounters haven't all been cherno but i see your point. and i play afternoons to very late at night (its 4:30 in the morning right now) unless i have work which has a pretty erratic schedule.

 

Found an m4 today so when i die tomorrow ill break it out and have some fun with it. Finally found a mosin which im excited about since i recently bought a mosin in real life.

Go find more guys, approach them with good tactics and take control. Ascertain if they are friendly good guys and see what you can do to help, or if they are aggressive you have options also. I like to break legs of smack talkers, bandage them and hide their gear in a bush, leaving them crawling around in their underwear looking for a stone.. Hopefully zombies come back soon or i'll have to get more experimental :| .

Calling it a day earlier than normal. Surprisingly i didn't meet my demise today while doing pvp. I had a close call though. I had just sniped a player from my vantage point in the hospital down range from the police station. He wasn't too armed but i wasn't going to take any chances and dropped him on the roof of the station. What i didn't hear was the other guy moving into the hospital until he was very close. I pulled out my cr75 and saw him go up the stairs and turn. sure enough hes aiming at me and even managed to land a couple shots. Luck was on my side as it was just an amphibia. I unload my mag into him, accuracy not being strong with me at that point but after a few rounds he falls and sits at the landing at the bottom of the stairs. I bandage up and move positions. I retreat into the nearby forest but as i'm getting there i'm stopped by a fresh spawn asking me to kill him. I oblige and keep on moving. While im in a bush catching my breath another fresh spawn comes up to me and asks for help with a group of guys killing people at the apartment buildings. I poked around but never saw anything. I assumed it was a trap and he had a buddy there that would snipe me.

 

Or maybe just perhaps a suggest  a little bit that i was just paranoid. maybe. possibly. Either way, i had a good time.

Interestingly if someone just happened to have their legs broken and then tried to belly crawl up the scaffolds in Svet or similar to attempt suicide, there's a decent chance they will glitch through the first slope down to the ground under it. They would then be stuck in the area under the slope, behind a 6 inch high scaffold wall of doom :rolleyes: . It would look easy to get out, but in reality every time they try to stand to step over the tiny barrier they would just fall on their face and remain behind the wall. There are VERY few ways out for them other than begging passing players for help (get legs fixed), or waiting to die of dehydration (which takes over an hour when you cannot walk). If someone happened to hate (like really hate) suicide cyclers, and was the kind of person to engineer this strategy into happening.. it might be something someone might be interested in... ;)

did some more sniping today. saw two players behind the cherno police station and observed them for a bit. I initially didn't shoot because i had only seen one. then i saw his friend come by and both had fireaxes and likely had handguns. Taking knowledge from a previous experience I carefully aimed and shot one right in the back of the head as he and his comrade were cutting down trees. The other guy quickly becomes aware and runs off to a nearby building. I wait to see if he'd poke out but decide it'd be more interesting and quicker to go find him.

I search the nearby red building and find nothing. The green building next to it however had its doors shut.. I open the doors and hear gunshots. Thanks to untamed panic jerking, (no, not that kind you dirty bastard) I run inside. Thankfully this disorientates him and i run back out and shut the door. He continues sitting there. I go to the side and he opens the door and i see my chance. I walk to the edge of the opening and put 3 or 4 rounds into him and he dies. I walk out with a gunshot wound and had some fun. I bid him a good fight as he almost had me and shortly thereafter the game crashed for me.

 

I've had some good luck the past 2 days. Won't be long until i'm dead :thumbsup:

My day didn't start so well. Decided to do some helicopter hunting and pick a v3s from my camp for it. Had to run a long way to get the truck. When I was finally driving towards where the heli crash sites are I was using 1st person view and there was a big but cleverly hidden boulder near the road. Kaboom. So there goes the plan. Feeling like a kid who's candy was stolen I spent next 10 minutes to move the truck away from the rock it was lying on and hide it in nearby bushes, it was difficult to steer with both front wheels completely busted.

 

The car crash happened close to one of the bigger cities. While making new plans what to do next, I'm thinking to check tenements, maybe I can find another tent or something. So, to the tenements I go and climb on top of one of the buildings. Sure enough, using binoculars I can spot two tents on rooftops of different buildings and start to rush down the stairs. Then an idea crosses my mind, "why not to check the building where I'm in already?" That wasn't a bad call, because there's a Big M Tent in one of the flats on the third floor. "Well hello there motherf...!" After a minute of inventory juggling I can drop my backpack and pick the tent up. Surprisingly, as soon as it's on my shoulder a car tent spawns to the very same room. i Can't believe my eyes! "Guess I just have to take it too!". :D

 

Next hour is just running, first to my camp and then back to the city. While on my way back I'm thinking what to do with those normal tents I saw earlier. First I plan to find a place to hide the tents, but there's a server restart, and I realize I can even pick them up and drive back to my camp. I check the number of players, and there's about a dozen in the server. Meaning there could be one to hear the car engine. I decide to take the risk, but act quick and decisive, so I drive fast and park the v3s in on a street between the buildings. Of course I get greedy and want to have a look if I can find more tents from the flats. And I do, there's one more on a balcony. So I carry two tents back to the truck and go to the building with remaining on top. And from those flats I find two tents more. More inventory juggling and I have space for two tents in my backpack as truck can take three. I leave the city and while driving I spot a guy running towards me on my right, with a rifle on his back. With just a truck I could have risked it to offer him a ride or something, but with this cargo... no chance! A big M tent, a car tent, and five normal tents... guess the day wasn't a complete waste.

Had quite a night last night. I sat in cherno and after sniping down a player I make my way into the hills to look around and do something else. After going slightly uphill though i see movement. One, no two players. (later turned out to be 4) I hid behind a tree and was positive I was about to die. I decided to go down fighting. I start shooting at them with my trusty mp5-k but I was outmanned and outgunned and was taken down. I spawned close by though and got back to my ruined stuff and hidden or gone body. (thanks ragdolling on slopes) It turns out they were friendly and i had scared them and we both panic shot each other. They asked me if i was the guy who was just there and i said no thinking they'd shoot me all over again. After running with them for quite a while and all dying together (me having probably killed our attacker) I tell them that I was the guy. Made some friends in a pretty crazy way but hey, its chernarus.

I logged in today where I left yesterday, just behind a hilltop next to my camp. Before I had time to move I heard a metallic *thud* exactly like when you close a door of a truck. "Holy crap someone has found my camp!!" was my first thought. Ready to face anything, I carefully moved closer to see what's going on. While crawling I attached the Kashtan back to my AKM and looked through the scope, but couldn't see any movement there, the tents I have seem to be there but my truck lying upside down in front of the car tent. "Oh shit, the guy must have flipped it somehow, maybe thudding sound came when he exited the car?" Next thing I ponder is maybe the guy saw me coming closer, and is now hiding behind the car tent. I'm overlooking the whole area, so maybe I can bluff him to move if I shoot through the tent few times? I remove the silencer and take three shots. No movement, no sounds, nothing. I take two shots more. Just the wind.

 

I shoot once again, now at the truck which is flipped... AND the truck suddenly flies back to it's tent. "Yeah, it just might be a bug." So I move inside my camp, check all tents, barrels and boxes, no one there and nothing is missing. Sigh. Phewww. I returned to the camp later, and the truck was flipped again, but this time I just fixed it again with a .45 bullet.

was lurking in a server that i never see more than 5 people in and wandered around NWAF because why not? i go into the officer hut and bam! 100s of items! found 4 umps, 3 augs, an ak 101, a few fnx 45s. there were plate carriers and pouches everywhere, a thousand rounds of ammo for M4 and .45. i grabbed what i needed and ran out of there!

i ended up dropping some stuff because i was overloaded with just stuff. I dropped my akm and kept the aug and ump. at this point i havent found much food. i feel like the loot-splosian wound have effected other loot, but i guess it was a bug or someone duped enough for a huge clan. 

so i go to vybor and loot a bit, only finding one can of food. so i grab some seeds and got lucky at a garden, finding a bag of fertilizer and a hoe in a shed nearby. i make a big garden of tomatoes and save myself from starvation.  i fill my inventory with toms and log out as it was late.

the next day i log in again and find that someone had taken all my tomato plants that i hadnt harvested, (they left the leaves and one single tomato.)

guess i shouldnt have gardened in vybor :/

also cant seem to find barrels anymore. even on servers that have just restarted (with me in them)

Gardening in a town in between NWAF, Myshkino tents, Veresnik military base, helicrash land, with high number of possible police car spawn spots... man, even if it's a low pop server, I'm actually amazed you survived gardening hour in Vybor! :D

Yeah why not? It will be good karma to share after such an event. Won't be especially one of those tents as I put them in use, but I have a one tent stash I don't visit at all. And I guess you'll be needing one for your newly found hardware

Something amazing happened! I met people in Cherno who DIDNT try to kill me, eachother or other players right off the bat. Instead we ran around and shared the loot instead. Amazing. I lost them after a while though and decided it was for the better as they was probably just tricking me and preparing for a salty meal. Just after I met a guy at Balota airfield who was normal though. So I left.

Aaaand, assholes are back. I played on the 75 man 1pp server yesterday with a new toon since the one I had earlier got murdered. First thing that happens after i spawn at Berezino is that two guys try to knock me out. I run away and when i get to Solnichy two other a-holes are killing newspawns all over town so I run away. When I get to Gorka I meet a guy who actually is nice, it turned out later that he was just trying to lure me into his two friends though. I meet them and its a bit of a standoff as they probably realize Im on my guard. We part ways and I run away. I then get to Stary Sobor adn as I enter the police station I notice a gy lurking in the bushes a bit away. As I move to leave using the backdoor theres two very well geared guys there. I talk to them and one of them comes in, beign friendly then raises his gun and click clicks at me. Its quite apparent what he wasa going to do so i barricade myself in a room with my rak. They taunt me and talk shit but I stay cool(theres nowhere to run away to). Unfortunately they get me with a grenade, those cowardly french.

 I respawn in kambiwobo and am almost right away accosted by an italian guy who insists on following me around. Hes quite friednly though so I dont kill him instead lose him in the water. When I get to Elektro two a-holes with shotguns shoots people in the legs and tie them up. I grow tired of their games and relog. I spawn in Cherno where people are shooting  newspawns etc etc

I think there must be some way you could change your strategy, i don't run into nearly as much trouble as you do :huh: Though to be honest with hacking becoming once again pretty common there are currently a variety of perfectly valid reasons to shoot a Bambi, so maybe it's just a current trend showing itself.

My strategy is pretty simple: When I see people, I greet them and act non-hostile. The only times I shoot is when I am assaulted or someone is assaulting someone else . I never KOS. I do use caution when I see other players though. I usually watch them and try to avoid them If I can.

 I havent seen any hacking on 0.59 exp but a guy got global banned just a few minutes ago so they sure are trying. A lot of people seem to just want to kill players, no matter how geared or ungeared they are.

 

I had a very annoying thing happen to me today. My dude got thirsty and I didnt have a canteen so I went from Stary sobor to Grishino and during this extremy short trip he went to "I'm dying of dehydration" and my health dropped til the screen got all grey adn fuzzy. I did notice a very dumb thing about the new UI which I was using: You cant see your status and you cant reset your fuzzy vision, even after drinking enough water too drown a small african village. I had to relog and go back to the old UI. But when I logged in a guy was just outside my house so i had to sit and wait for him to leave. It was obvious he was going for the airfield adn so was I so I went on a roundabout tour as to not cross paths with him. I got a bit lost and ended up in fucking Stary yar! How I managed to cross the entire half of the map without recognizing where I was is a big mystery. I blame the grey-dark.

Haven't been in game much lately so haven't contributed much in the past month or so. Finally got the gumption up to head into a busy server and see what everyone was up to. I tucked myself into a little corner overlooking the docks at Svet and kept pretty much to myself at the beginning. Saw a few random guys running around fresh- kind of fun watching people who were obviously new and enthusiastic mincing around, sneaking from cover to cover... looking at everything. I envied them and their fresh perspective as I lay there watching through my sniper scope. Of COURSE I didn't shoot the fresh guys... but I had my eyes open for people who do.

 

One guy had some hunting clothes on and was just running around the docks in and out of the sheds. I watched him but left him alone. About 10 minutes later I saw a fresh female character running towards me with him in chase. I couldn't tell if they were together until I saw him trying to punch her and her running away. She ran up to the first platform on a crane and he went up after her. She punched him as he popped his head over the edge and he went back down. He then went and stood at the base of the crane and was looking up at her. She was looking down at him- I couldn't hear them but I'm assuming there was some chatter back and forth. 

 

He stood still long enough and I shot him in the throat- he collapsed immediately. 

 

Here I was thinking I'd just helped the woman- but I think it startled her and she fell off the crane and also died.

Well... went back into Svet today and was just watching over the place when out of nowhere this fresh appears directly in my scope about 20 feet from me. Was very weird... I didn't shoot him- but suddenly he just zipped up into the sky and started taunting me. I ran away since I couldn't tell where he was... then I started getting shot until I was dead. 

 

I think that was my first actual hacker encounter...
