...do you think we will all spawn on the coast, the east coast, all new spawn points or right where we last were but just without our gear? Anyone know or have a guess on how that would work? I would assume we would lose our position and all re-spawn but then imagine the chaos of Bambi killings on the coast! Especially with the person who gears up fastest.  

 

Or should I be running to wherever I want to spawn from fresh now? *cough* NWAF *cough*

why dont you answer the question instead of asking a different question?

 

I assume we will all be spawning fresh on the coast in the east-northeast somewhere. There are too many servers for someone to spawn camp all day. Plus the respawn timer will keep people from moving from every server to server trying to kill everyone. Once the initial wave dyes down, everyone should be able to get geared.

 

If we spawn where we were at previously, everyone would just run to balota, NWAF, Vybor, Pavolo, etc.

yeah i feel it would just be easier to kill all chars across server, so you should spawn in one of the fixed points.

When server doesnt save your stuff you respawn anew, as with death, i see this being the easiest and most fair way

in 200 hours of playing Standalone and uncounted hours in the mod I find it one of the least populated major centres in the game right now. Yes there are server hoppers that pop in and out to gear up but most people are too lazy to run anywhere.

 

I am exploring and surviving....not just looking for an akm to kill people. The "kids" as you call them, (I'm 38, hi.) just gear up and run to Berinzino (sp?) to shoot, die and spawn again. ZZZzzzZZZZzzz. Once the game gets closer to finished I am going to know the map better than most because I take a different route every time. I already have my some base ideas plotted out and know some cool spots away from the coast or east coast to hide my tents, packs and persistent items. 

 

Enjoy your AKM kill fest for now but once zombie hoards are attracted to gun fire and sound is fixed so once you take a shot everyone knows where you are then you're going to be thinking twice about even using an akm unless it's fitted with a silencer. Silenced weapons or sniper rifles are going to be the best choice or even better, sneak attack with a knife in the back.

All characters in the database are probably going to be set to default.  They're going to respawn on the latest set of spawn points most likely.  That would mean we're all going to spawn somewhere along the east coast or heartlands.  

 

I'm glad you're at least willing to explore and plan ahead.  It puts you miles ahead of the other 'kids'~

Though the AK is my rifle of choice, I rarely fire at players.  I tend to stick to the woods with a fishing pole and fireplace and let the children thin themselves out.

Hopefully that will change soon enough! I don't know how or when unless they implement some sort if reward vs. risk system to prevent it but fingers crossed!

Whenever 0.49 hits stable is when the wipe will happen. Whether or not that is today during maintenance is yet to be seen.

 

Personally, I don't know if persistence is ready for stable, but that's just me.

Does the wipe comes on every new patch, if so would they announce the day of patch implementation (character reset day) ? This kind of information would be nice to know cause a sudden reset would make me sad. I want to go down in blaze of glory and see how much I can last going full nuts before the wipe :)

Smart phrase: DayZ isn't about having stuff, it's about getting stuff.

 

I play Exp however, so I am used to random fresh spawns and wipes. It's actually most fun for me to start a new character. But it's a sandbox game, you can play however you like to. But claiming that you wont play DayZ until the wipe so you can keep gear that you are not using ( because you won't play anyway ) until its gone automaticly just sounds odd.

 

Make a chemlight rave, invite random people to a last man standing, stop caring about your gear, everyone will lose it anyway soon. The wipe is a chance to do crazy stuff with your character because its simply inevitable. Let him die in a basejump off of a cliff, try to create a massive zombie trail, gather players and engage in a brawl.

 

Pre-wipe times are the times to stop caring. You will loose everything anyway. And i don't see a point to leave my character unused on my harddisk until he gets killed by the hive no matter if I play or not. There's just no point in keeping a character that will automaticly die anyway soon.

I would just keep in the back of your mind that your Char can be wiped at any time - because it will happen from time to time, it may just soften the blow for ya

I don't agree with that slogan (just as I don't agree with many people who tell me or others here 'what DayZ is all about.')

 

It can also be about trying to stay alive, explore and interact when you're geared to a high standard.

Ive managed to gather all this Nice guy looking trader gear to start a trading Co. and Now im just waiting for the wipe before I get serious.

 

Probably in a month or so, we will see this wipe.
