Questions for those already playing:

1) How is the hit detection on zombies? Is it any better? In 0.48 I could whack at one with an axe like 10 times and only get one hit in (that was with hitting zombie's chest area).

Zombies jumping through your character I wouldn't expect fixed at all.

2) Are the audio bugs any better? Like, running in completely deserted area and hearing cans od soda opening or zombies screaming.

 

  1. With anything smaller then an axe/pickaxe they are still a little hard to hit. Using a machete was quite difficult but did seem to kill them quicker than normal so the machete may have been buffed slightly. They still glitched through doors, walls and floors, But not through all, I did find some buildings they could not get into. Hitting you when you are 10 feet away and they are facing the opposite direct still happened multiple times and damaged/ruined clothing quickly.
  2. Personally I didn't notice any difference. I still kept hearing drinking, zombie agro and ammo splitting when I was in the middle of nowhere with no one around.

It seems a bit random. If you use it whilst they are on it won't show the change till you take them off and re-equip them. Least that's what I get, others are saying it works as normal though.

Removing clothes tend to disappear!

 

I have gone from three pairs of trousers to none...

 

Is Hypothermia too hot in the game.. it seems to be.

All of the above experienced also. Random noises maybe even more than in 0.48.

no, my guess is general update problem. I patched something, did not see any changes, then put the formerly badly damaged sewing kit in the vicinity and it was ruined. It got used and re-equipping my pants updated them then. Now what I don't know is if patched clothes offer better protection, even if we don't see that in the inventory, yet.

HypOthermia - too cold, hypERthermia - too hot.

 

Now how do you get that stuff? I had no rain yet, when I started and ripped my shirt, after a while I got messages that it is chilli, but no status update. Then I found a riders jacket - all fine. Then I put on a wool coat, now I'm hot and sweating. Smelly for sure, but no status update. A friend said he watched a few twitch streamers and he got the impression that being energized and hydrated allows the body to cope better with such things. Concerning my weather with all that, its sunny and I do NOT see my breath. I'm running around with wool coat, riders jacket and yellow rain coat currently.

 

Concerning loot, the coast seems to be pretty barren with food respawning, at least I think it is with everything being open, empty and still finding food in looted buildings. Apple searching produced 3 rotten ones, no fresh ones. Berries seemed to be more cooperative.

New : Rotten apples now grow on trees !

Was starving, no food in markets in cherno, found apple trees, two rotten :( but so far not sick....so I guess tasty apples :) digging this patch

Any word on how sprinting effects hyperthermia? I jogged most places and never had an issue, not hyperthermic once over a 5 hour+ session. I also used stock shirts and vests that don't seem to have thermal properties.

funny fact: rotten fruits should make you drunk instead of sick. To actually get sick from it you would have to eat several kilos - but in that case you would die from "overstuffing" and still not from food poisoning

I used a machete a lot in the first hour or so. It killed zeds with one or two blows to the head and pretty quickly even if not head shots. I didn't have any trouble hitting them after getting used to the swing but I did have slight issues with one hopper who would get a hit on me at the pass as I tried to strafe dance around him.

As for random sounds, I feel as though they are somehow related to server pop. Usually 1st person experimental servers have a soft upper limit of 5 but yesterday with pops in the 30's I was hearing them much more frequently. I've felt like this in the past when going on high-pop stable servers.

Any word on horticulture?

Nobody seems to mention it.

Is it not included in the update?

 

There's nothing about it in the unofficial changelog and I don't think anyone's found anything in this forum, so maybe not in yet.

Welll stilll zombies running through doors and wallls Im done.

 

Oh noes, allthough there wasnt any mention it being fixed just being updated. If youd look into it youd find it pretty interesting how their doing it, not saying its the best way or defending it anyway but since you clearly have no clue whats going on, I just pointed it out for you.

For the mostpart Zeds are NOT able to get into buildings.. i've locked them out several times.  Seems to be working for me.

How do you know it was not already looted?  Door state is no indication.. there are many players who close every door they open..

yeah thats some bullshit tho. never ever went into a touched town before where every door was closed in the whole town! (400 hrs). sometimes they close doors, but some buildings still stay open as an indicator.

And WHERE are the rest of the SERVERS!??!?  Dang.  I left some stuff on a server that isn't showing up at all, and all the 3rd person servers that I can get to are jammed full.

Yeah ppl seem to be so excited about 0.49 that literally everyone is running over to experimental. I had a hard time finding a player slot at all everytime i played since the update. Also, in 4 out of 5 times, i only found a couple of UK servers instead of DE ones.

 

Oh, and i starved on every new spawn. :)

Why is the performance always so bad the first few days a patch is out? Logical answer would be that the servers are very full but even in a full server after a few days the performance is always better than in the beginning.

The problem isn't that so many want to play, it is that there are servers missing from the list entirely.  Some are stuck in that 0800/0920/1400 loop, as well; but there are about 15 servers that should be well within my ping filter that just aren't there.

 

Why are they down?  Are they trying to stress-test this build on full servers?  If so, they are over-doing it a bit, and stress-testing the players instead.  :D

thought the farming "thing" was cultivating crops from already existing gardens you see around the various houses.

Except for the hunters rucks it looks like mostly useless stuff.  Were there any magazines?

Left side of the image, 2 chest holsters, a box of 7.62x39 under the coke can on the bottom bunk, a makarov on the floor next to the left bed under some food, I'm sure theres other stuff under all the clothes on the far bunkbeds.

For me this rather looks like bugged respawn mechanic. Everything from US East 0-1 Server (1st. person).
